I would think that Dadi puts Abhi on a higher pedestal than Aaliya. She knows Aaliya and how her nature is. And she knows that Abhi is good, caring and thought that he would never lie to his Daadi. She thought she could trust him. The same wasn't probably true for Aaliya,

But then again it's mostly the CVs using this for convenience and more TRPs

Because Abhi tends to do things without thinking also.
Sure Aliyah was wrong, but him lecturing her before seems hypocritical now.

Pragya has that same problem. Too unaware of their surroundings.
