Part 1
Abhi stared at her retracting body as she hurriedly hastened away from him. It was as if she couldn't move fast enough. How could she do this to him was the only question that repeatedly played itself like a broken tape recorder in his head. He had thought this would be the happiest day of his life and that all his dreams were about to come true yet she had ruined it for him with no care for his feelings at all. He had felt so jubilant thinking about her reaction but dammit, she hadn't even given him a chance to express his feelings to her before she broke the news to him about her lie. She had said it so casually; she didn't love him, and something stirred in his heart. He was losing her even before he had her and the thought made him go insane with fury, frustration and also deep down, fear. How could she do this to him? She was the one who had taught him how to be sensitive to other's feelings, how to give unconditionally, how to live and most importantly, how to love. Then why, why would she do this to him?
It had taken so much of Purab's banter and plots for him to realise his true feelings for her. He had been so confused over the last few days, constantly thinking about how he would give her an answer that she truly deserved. The fact that he was so confused was confusing in itself. If he knew he didn't love her, why then was he pondering over this so much? Why did his heart tell him that there was more to this than just saying no to her? Why did he find it difficult to imagine what her reaction would be if he said no? Why did it break his heart to know that she would probably be in tears? Why was this all so heart-wrenching for him?
And then it hit him from out of nowhere like a bolt of lightning! God, how could he have been so blind. Of course he loved her! He couldn't possibly not love her. She made it so easy to love her, the way she took care of him, the way she genuinely took care of his dadi and the household. She was so good with Bunty and Babli and they adored her in the same way. She even tolerated Mitali bhabhi and Alia and that was a feat in itself for anyone. When he finally realised the depth of his love for her and her only, the only person he wanted to share it with, was her. Never in his entire revelation did Abhi ever think he would face rejection. Come on, this was Pragya he was talking about, his bholi wife who couldn't hurt a fly, she most definitely didn't have it in her to hurt another person, especially him, Rockstar Abhi, or did she. . .?
That certainly took his thoughts off on a different tangent. Oh my God, did he take her for granted?
Had he always taken her for granted, from the day they married? Had he just assumed she was content? And then oh dear Lord, another thought came his way . . . was she doing this on purpose to get back at him for the torture he had put her through since they got married? The many taunts, the confusion about who really loved Purab, her or Bulbul, Alia being awful to her, him thinking he wanted to be with Tanu? She did remind him that he went to Tanu on their wedding night, he cringed at the thought. All these reasons were most likely, but no, this was still Pragya he was dealing with and there was no way, his sweet, lovable wife would have ever been able to mean what she just said.
As Abhi stood there, trying to recover from the shock of what had just happened, he realised that there was no use trying to work out the reasons behind it. All he could think of now was that he wasn't about to let her go just like that, so easily without a fight. He would certainly fight for her with all his might. He was determined to get her back and he would do anything it took. He just had to make her realise that she needed him in her life, forget the fact that he needed her more in his life than she needed him. He would certainly do it, God, he needed her so badly. He would make her realise her love for him, and most importantly his love for her. He would find out what was going on in her mind and he would make her his, if it was the last thing he did. He was now a man with a mission, how to get the love of his life back . . .
