Chapter 3

It's been five days since that dreadful event right after the texts and emails suddenly stop. Maybe the intent was only to scare or it could mean the person is still lurking just waiting for the perfect time to strike again. Security is on high alert and no one can get past them.

Abhi reluctantly agrees to a meeting at home. He has to meet some people in the industry and his mangers Akaash and Purab had it set at the house since he refused to leave Pragya until this threat is over. There's a charity event coming in a couple of days and a lot of things had to be finalized and his heart wasn't in the event as he could only concentrate on that list. There were only a few names on it now since whoever it was had money in order to follow them on their honeymoon and lives in this posh neighbourhood so a lot of names were crossed off. His precious Chashmish had to remind him that it's a very good cause and something he truly believed in. All funds raised were to help children living in poverty and high risk homes. The objective was to give them a better life through financial aid and provide good mentors that they can rely on if they're feeling alone or need help. Abhi recalled his childhood and it wasn't easy, he was glad he always had his family's support and Purab by his side but not every child is so lucky so he couldn't back out.

Slowly one by one everyone came and Abhi was shocked to see Tanu. It was a long time since they last met and that day they didn't end on good terms. The event's head organizer Mr Bajaj came up to Abhi and said "Sorry I know it must be awkward but this meeting had to include inputs from various groups and Tanu is here with her rival Vishaka. We haven't decided the sequence of the singing performances and fashion shows yet so we need your feedback to plan it out which works best for everyone involved. I hope you understand." Abhi held no grudges against Tanu but did have her on his list so he was skeptical but he patted Mr. Bajaj's back and gave him a nod before walking away. There were others in the party he wasn't too fond of and he couldn't help thinking if he should add any names. All in all there were about 25 people. The meeting was long but productive and at the end with a lot of pleading Abhi gave in to a tour of his home.

"Eeh Chashmish" says Abhi and sits beside his wife and hugs her tightly. Pragya loves it when he's in a happy mood "So this means the meeting went well?" Abhi kisses her cheek and says "Yes. Everything finally got sorted and I won't have to do this again. You know I hate these long boring meetings." Pragya nods her head "Yeah it's interesting when they are talking about you and when they are not then it's all downhill and a complete waste of time, right". Abhi pulls Pragya's ear lightly and says "Oh yeah". He let's go of the ear and takes her face in his hands to say "Maybe just a little. But they would have all my attention if the talks were about you." Abhi leans in for a kiss but stops when his phone rings and he sees a text 'Read the letter that is on your night table.' Abhi turns around and spots the letter and opens it to read 'I was in your house and I got to your Pragya. What kind of a husband are you? You love to pick fights but you're not too good at protecting your wife. Pretty soon I am going to end this game and I will clearly be the winner.' Abhi scrunches the letter in anger but opens it once again as a thought crosses his mind that the letterhead is very familiar.

Chapter 4

Finally the charity event is here, Abhi is glad that everyone's hard work will finally pay off. He's excited for his performances because his Chashmish will be with him every step of the way. The doctor had said Pragya was ok and she had agreed to perform with him. A lot of times instigation yields out desirable results and this is what they were hoping for. For the past three days they were rehearsing day and night and they were sure this show would be a great success and their plan would work. Their performance will bring their threat out in the open as someone who can't see them together, obviously won't be enjoying the show seeing them expressing their love to each other.

Abhi took the stage and everyone was chanting his name. The kids in the first few rows were overly excited as they never imagined a show would be held for them. Abhi looked over the audience and was pleased to see that there was no empty seat. He began his performance "Today your rockstar along with his darling wife will present to you a love story where a guy and a girl didn't see eye to eye at first but later fell in love." Pragya comes on stage and she says "They couldn't stand one another and it was common knowledge that they had daily petty fights." Abhi chuckles adding "He didn't get her at all so he would often say" Abhi and Pragya start to perform on 'Ladki kyon na jaane kyon ladkon si nahi hoti' from the movie Hum Tum. Pragya says "She didn't understand why he was a little mad. He belonged to a different world but still why couldn't he be normal. He would do things opposite to what he said and his emotions were all over the map. There was no way to read him as he was just so mad. They perform on 'Yeh ladka hai deewaana' from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Abhi continues "No matter how hard he tried he was always spellbound by her and he didn't quite get it until it hit him but he wasn't going to admit it. Abhi performs solely on 'Kya mujhe pyaar hai' from the movie Gangster. Pragya comes on stage and Abhi leaves and says 'She knew what she was feeling but she wasn't going to let anyone know. She imagined that he might be feeling the same but knew at the back of her head this couldn't be but still she could dream. Pragya and Abhi perform on 'Khamoshiyan ghungunany lagee' from the movie One 2 ka 4. Abhi's left alone on stage and he continues the story further 'Both had love in their hearts but they couldn't express it to one another because they didn't even want to admit it to themselves. One day he misunderstood his love and he pushed her away. But he didn't realize that it would hurt even more to be away from her. Abhi performs solely on 'Tere bin main yun kaise jiya' from the movie Bas Ek Pal. Abhi leaves the stage and Pragya says 'She went away from everyone. She left her old life behind to move forward. She would wonder why this happened because she only wanted a simple life yet her life was so complicated. She performs on 'Iktaara' from movie Wake Up Sid. Abhi comes back on stage and says 'Time went by and one day he came to know she wasn't wrong. She always wanted the best for him but he was easy on the ears so he was always quick to believe what he heard. Of all the ladies he knew she was the only one for him." Abhi performs on 'Tere bin san soniya, koi horh nahi labana' from the movie Delhi Heights. Abhi says "He was so so wrong. He knew what he had to do, he had to go find her and win her love and trust. He was unfair to her but he will need to prove that he will always be on her side and most importantly that he will love her unconditionally. Make her believe that she is the most beautiful and a precious person for him." The story ends for intermission and a fashion show starts.

Someone was seething in anger and couldn't wait until this ended to do something. With all the threats, they were on stage flaunting their love for one another. Why? How can anyone leave a show that is being well received? Everyone was clapping except for this one person. There was no way this person was going to let this show end on a happy note.



I didn't go into detail in explaining the performances because I am leaving it to the reader's imagination to what they want this pair to wear and how they would be moving to these songs. If you've seen these songs then just imagine our Abhigya breathing life into them or envision your own creations.

The next chapter will end the mystery but before that we'll read about more Abhigya performances. So sorry but mystery still continues.
