Aaliyah and Tannu have thrown Pragya out of the Mehra mansion. Abhi just has learnt it from them. Tannu is happy that finally she doesn't have to see Pragya around him anymore. Aaliyah is finally taking a breath after achieving something in her revenge. Both girls hug Abhi and tell him how they should be celebrating now.

Abhi was never so unsure. He excuses himself saying he is sleepy after a long tiring day and retires to his room locking himself inside. He sees Pragya in every corner of the room. He closes his eyes to escpae her memories. But her image is all the more clear inside his eyes. A faint film of tears forms in his eyes. Her absence feels a part of him has gone missing.

Abhi rubs his eyes to wipe off the tears. He doesn't want to cry. He is supposed to be relieved that the one person who destroyed his sister's life has gone away. But no, he can't help think why she wasn't stopped. Why he didn't stop her? Why she didn't even say a good bye before she left. But what had he ever assured her, for her to owe him anything!

Abhi walks to the balcony and sits on the sofa on which she used to sleep. He thinks of the times he wanted her to not sleep there, but never asked her not to. He thinks of the times he wanted to say "sorry" after hurting her. He thinks of the times the emotions he refused to acknowledge when he looked into her eyes. It was something primal, it was something beautiful, the emotions he never nurtured. And now it's all gone, it all slid off of his hands like sand. He feels empty and lifeless.

But, I've learned too late

Abhi looks up the skies and tears flow down his eyes. He bangs his fist to the railings until it starts to bleed. He feels somewhat relieved to have hurt himself. The hurt he hurt her every single time, the hurt he somehow knew she did not deserve. He stares into the clouded sky but the tears blur his vision. And everything blurs out for him without her.

Humne dekhi hai un aankhoon ki

So, it's been a few months of Abhi-Pragya marriage. Abhi still continues with his misunderstandings. They haven't been able to separate due to her mother's ill health and his Daadi's trust in them. Abhi has become a lot more sarcastic and callous emotionally, more because of the tugging emotions he feels for Pragya, and he wants to run away from them. He does not want to see himself falling for a girl whom he believes to be a traitor.

At the same time, they both have been there for each other through the lows of their life invariably. They have also shared their happy moments unknowingly. It's just that whenever Abhi has to consciously acknowledge Pragya or his own feelings for her, he insulates himself. Pragya reads him like an open book and she knows it all. But she does not understand his need to stay so stubborn and stabbing her with his words.

So that morning, she makes his favorite coffee yet again and brings it for him as she wakes him up. It's the best coffee he has ever tasted. But that exactly what ticks him off. He taunts her to say why does she act like a dutiful wife for he would never be impressed.

"Main aapko impress karney ke liye kabhi kuch nahi karti. Aap jazbaat samajhna nahi chahte toh unka mazaak mat udayiye" Pragya tells him firmly to his face. He stares at her piercingly. She bites her lip and avoids his gaze, swallowing the turbulence she feels within herself. She knows those emotions are real and profound. She feels them to her core, but what are they?

He walks to the bathroom leaving the door open. He pours down the coffee into the sink much to her notice and shuts the door forcefully generating a huge sound that shakes her. Pragya closes her eyes shut to not allow her tears to flow.

He comes out of the bathroom after a long time. She has just finished her "aarti" of her God. She offers him the "aarti" and he shrugs his shoulders as if to tell her how he finds everything hollow. She still can't stop including him in her silent prayer. He looks into her eyes and stays like that for a moment. Their world stands still in that moment.

@Mina - The stories were great!! But the second one!! It was just mindblowing!! I am in love with the story!😛 I don't really think it's out of character for them because despite their many differences they still have some common ground and morals (to a certain level😆)! And it was so good to see their relationship evolving from strangers to friends, to best friends, to soulmates!😳 Superb!!

About your Backstreet Boys wala story, Mina... how I wish we saw Abhi and Pragya as two regular people getting to know each other... without MUs and all the crap we are being shown..I can totally imagine Abhi being this way for this unusual girl he meets in his life.. And her taking her own good time.. to warm up to him.. How sweet it would have been.. you know like that phone scene..(the only sweet scene between them so far).
