What I meant was that there have been innumerable times on tv that a pretty girl has been called average looking just for the theme of the show. No one cares if she's actually pretty or not. Anyone can see Sriti is pretty. But the character Pragya is not. I have tried to explain myself to the best of my ability, if you still haven't understood what I meant, i can't do anything about it 😛 because it's pretty much self-explanatory😛

Why are you guys taking it to heart like Sriti is being insulted? -_-

See that is my point...how can you say that the audience does not care whether she is actually pretty or not...remember the show bidaai..they casted a dark complexioned girl as ragini so that viewers actually felt her pain...thats the power of casting...am not a crazy sriti jha fan or care what she really thinks!...what i see is a really beautiful girl who is calling herself not pretty..What they couldve shown was that pragya despite being pretty has low self esteem...i do see the low self esteem but dialogues like that"Ma bulbul ko chupa deti thi jab mjhe koi dekhne aata tha"..means that she is NOT pretty as bulbul...which in reality wudve been the other way around,,as our country is OBSESSED with fair complexion and bulbul is a little darker compared to pragya...(no tomatoes please...just trying to prove a point...)

But the thing is that they are trying to show that Pragya is a girl that is not conventionally beautiful but she has many other qualities that make her far more appealing then so called good looking people. This woman has faced rejection numerous times already due to which she has developed such a low self-esteem and does not see her true worth. Honestly, I like the characterization of Pragya so far. It would be beautiful to see the transition of Pragya from a vulnerable women to a strong and confident women. It would also be interesting to see how Abhi is going to be the one to show that Pragya is an extremely beautiful woman that is currently hiding under those glasses.

i repeat ..am not considered about the actress..i watch the show for entertainment...if we see kareena or ash playing a "not so pretty woman"..does it mean that they are being demeaned ?..NO...but yes the audience will be left scratching their head that why not hire someone like konkona ?...
you said your self that the show is about the elder girl being not goodlooking...but.by casting a really beautiful actress and then hammering every other epi of the show convincing us...that "OH...i forgot she is supposed to be NOT pretty"😕...sorry this is not the way an average audience minds work...

I found the girl who played the dark complexioned girl BEAUTIFUL, still the makers kept saying that she's not.

They might have chosen Sriti because they wanted a good actor to play Pragya and she's an amazing actor ⭐️ . Maybe because they preferred acting talent over how much one's looks suit a role. 😛


Btw. Sriti is definitely darker than Mrunal. And anyway skin colour does not define how pretty you are. ❤️

i find parul chauhan beautiful as well..much better then sarah khan in my view..but that show was about how socety is obsessed with dark skin...so she was perfect to play it..
yes sriti jha is amazing as pragya...but i do feel that the dialogues were inappropriate. ...i felt weird watching that scene...im dark skinned as well...and what i felt was....so she thinks that she's not pretty...wonder what that makes me...😕
