Hi all, I am new to the forum.
I also did not like Pragya's dialogue at all. So far, I am really disliking the way they have etched out Pragya's character. Sriti is a phenomenally beautiful woman and to show that she is not pretty just because she wears glasses and dresses traditionally makes no sense. They are showing her to have incredibly low self-esteem and this is why, she seems to have set extremely low standards for herself. Hence, she feels that a loser like Suresh is the best she can do. Seriously?? She is a beautiful woman who is also highly accomplished (a professor) and soft-natured, and therefore, in many ways, much more desirable than Bulbul. I can understand that they are trying to portray Society's narrow mindedness in only looking at the superficial and therefore, preferring Bulbul over Pragya. But they should at least show Pragya to be stronger and more confident. By painting her as a self-loathing, self-pitying woman who believes she doesn't deserve the best is simply legitimizing society's attitude and perpetuating the stereotype that mature women who are well-educated and traditional at the same time are unattractive and undesirable. It's utterly ridiculous.
