Congratulations. I just saw the post on the Aids productions. I glanced at the article and didn't fully read it, so please forgive me if the answer to my question is already there. Were you involved in the Aids production with Kiren Bedi and if so how? And Thanks you for your posts. If and when I do get a chance, I actually believe it or not learn a lot simply by the title of the post. You can learn even by skimming titles of posts when you are short on time! And a lot of the titles are by you, very sweet. CONGRATS again!!!

Tele-actor Dr. Anuj Saxena comes to Chembur for release of a documentary film on AIDS
It gives me immense satisfaction to be associated with a social cause like this - Dr Anuj Saxena
A Correspondent
Lioness Club of Vasant Vihar released a 15 minute long documentary film, titled "Ek Aur Prananjali", on HIV/AIDS in association with Maverick Productions on October 2, at a hotel in Deonar.

Dr Anuj Saxena, the tele-actor who also makes an appearance in this documentary film graced the occassion as the chief guest. A major portion of the film opens with a talk on AIDS and its treatment. The film spells hope to the victims as it revolves around how it is possible for an AIDS victim to lead a healthy life with proper treatment.

Speaking to CG Plus, the club's president Mala Shetty, states, "It is a part of our service week. Last year, we released a film on how to prevent the disease; the stress was on how to avoid having unprotected sex.

Now the focus is on the treatment aspect. We want to send the message that AIDS does not mean end of life. It is possible to lead a healthy life. Our mission is to show the film to the youth across the colleges in the city."

While releasing the film Dr Anuj Saxena, remarked "It gives me immense satisfaction to be associated with a social cause like this." The function was also attended by the staff of K J Somaiya hospital located near Sion.

Briefing us on the other projects undertaken by the club during the service week Manisha Thorat, secretary of the club, says, "We have sponsored fruits for the children of Sevadaan.

Similarly, we have tried to meet immediate requirements of various schools like giving health snacks for the poor children attending Balwadis in slum pockets of Lal Dongar, etc. Our members are visiting senior citizens homes and other social organisations in the suburb.

Providing 15 Jaipur feet, free of cost, to the underprivileged and donating sensory balls to the mentally handicapped children at the Shartul School, in Ghatkopar are few of our major projects."

New Delhi :Actor Anuj Saxena recently sponsored an AIDS awareness film Ek Aur Prananjali for the Lioness Club in Mumbai. Produced by his production house, this 15-minute long documentary film will have Anuj talking about AIDS awareness.
The concept of this film has been created by Mala Shetty, president of the Lioness Club. Talking about the idea behind this documentary, Mala says, "We had made a film called Prananjali last year, for which the research was done at the K.J. Somaiya Hospital. In this film, we depicted the plight and trauma that HIV infected persons and their families go through. But we didn't touch upon the issue of treatment and rehabilitation in the film. So, by making Ek Aur Prananjali, we have tried to focus on this particular fact and continue AIDS awareness series in a more educative manner."
As for choosing Anuj to appear in the film and sponsor it as well, Mala says, "Because we run a fan club for Anuj, we approached him with the offer of producing and acting in this documentary. Anuj is a doctor himself and agreed to support us in our campaign."
Anuj is as excited as the Lioness Club for the documentary film. According to him, it is really important to spread awareness about AIDS in the country. "India is slowly becoming one of the worst affected countries in the world from this fatal disease and the number of HIV infected cases are rising everyday. People here don't like to talk about this disease as they see it as a social stigma. So, it is really important to spread awareness about AIDS, especially in rural areas. This is exactly the purpose which this film will try to serve," he says.
Regarding the promotion of the film, Anuj says, "We will try to showcase this film to as many people and we have already planned to show it to many youngsters at various colleges in Mumbai."
