It was the piercing rays of the bright sun that awoke nidhi...as she opened her eyes...n yawned...looking around for dr ashutosh ...she got up as she could not see him around and tried to guess where he could be..she got up, adjusting her gown and knocked at the toilet door , finally peeping inside..no he wasnt there..nor was he in thebalcony outside the room...overlooking the lake..nidhi peeped out, only to return inside shivering due to the intense cold ..just as she was about to dial him , the suite opened n in walked dr ashutosh in his kurta pyjama n maroon sweater that dadi bua had knitted for him..as he smiled , nidhi complained "kahaan they aap...I have been looking for you.."!! Ashutosh hugged his wife and replied"arrey kahaan jaaoonga, bachchon ko chek karne gayaa tha...guddi is with dadi bua n nishu with col verma...both r fast asleep..n havent troubled at all...unke tooth brushes deke aaya hoon..now we d meet at breakfast..aisa mera nahi tumhari dadi bua ka hukm hai..aur unka hukm to khuda bhi nahi taal sakta..kyun??"and nidhi laughed as ashutosh said"chai nahi milegi..."?? N nidhi got up to the tea maker n put water...as ashutosh looked outside..the first cloud of the day wafting alone across the sky n approaching the sun...as nidhi handed him his tea...taking a sip, as he offered n asked, "aapko yaad hai..last trip mei...aadha time to mai soti rahti thi..."ashutosh held her fingers, caressing them tenderly he recalled those afternoons when a tired nidhi d just crash to the bed for hrs while he sat looking at her...her changing form...n the baby growing within...their hope..their dream..their morrow..ashutosh nodded n said"yess...pregnancy was havoc for you..."n nidhi replied"aisa bhi nahi tha...I loved your pampering..."n ashutosh pulled her to his lap n whispered"tumhe kab nahi pamper karta...bolo to"?? And nidhi tried to recall "as an intern to itna daant te the...phir shaadi ke baad..."ashutosh winced"achcha yeh sab yaad hai...aur kitna manaata tha...woh bhool gayi...biwiyaan bhi..buss"!!! Andnidhi laughed as she planted a kiss on his cheek...and he looked at her lazily"dr nidhi...abhi zara time kam hai...aur kuch kaam mai aaraam se hi karnachahta hoon...so jaaiye ready ho jaaiye...8 baj gaye hain...aur dadi bua ka alarm bjne wala hoga..."!! As nidhi laughed and went in..pulling out her pink 9hiran n white leggings of wool...a sweater to be worn underground ..n socks ..yes it was cold indeed...and she heard her husband say"mere kapde bhi...plz"how dependent he was on her...she smiled as she pulled out his worsted grey trousers with a pale pink shirt and a black n grey sweater ...a grey muffler ..soft kashmere ..that he loved..and went in...
As she emerged , and was drying her long hair , she asked"bachche kya pehnenge"??
"Decide karne do grand parents ko...let them have a real taste of grand children"!! And nidhi laughed...as she prodded ashutosh "ab jaaiye nahaane...hurry up"and ashutosh finally gave up his news paper n stepped in...humming

n nidhi blushed as she arranged a few things n put his I pad on charge...

"Guddi...nishu"it was nidhi running to the kids as they ran towards her...kissed her...n as nishu hugged her, guddi ran past to climb into her papa's out strtched arms...as he brought her to nidhi...both kids were showing off how well dressed they were..."appe aap"as guddi said..n dadi bua laughed"aur kya...main in dono ko tujhpe itta dependent nahi rahne doongi...hostel bhi saath jaayegi kya"?? And nidhi laughed hugging them close"usme to bahut saal hain..."and baba smiled at the over indulgent mother in nidhi...as the entire family sat for breakfast...armaan joining in last..dressed in a dark green jacket n jeans...nishu said"wow chacha..hero "!! And armaan smiled n said"haan beta ..per mera hero to mera nishu hai..."As they sat with their breakfast , guddi on a high chair ,eating her fav aloo paratha by herself , cv asked "aaj ka plan..."?? Ashutosh looked at maxi n said"i feel cs aur maxi ko ghoomne dete hain...aur hum sab chalte hain mall pe..bachche horse riding karenge thodi .."!!armaan added"yes abhi utni thand bhi nahi hai...baba n dadi bua can also come..."dadi bua immiediately spoke"arre samdhiji ki fiqr karo...meri to itni umr nahi hui..."and as cs asked with a stright face"waise dadi bua...aap katrina se to kuch badi hongi ki nahi"!! And as others laughed , dadi bua was ready to snarl..only to be indicated by col verma that they were in the restaurant!!!

"Daaktar saab aapne bulaaya"??dr ashutosh looked up as maxi n cs entered their suite, he got up n opened his travel bag, n came, calling "nidhi..idhar aao "n nidhi came out from the ante room , a lil surprised to find maxi n cs...ashutosh looked at her...n as she said"jee"he handed her a wad of notes n indicated to cs...nidhi smiled as she understood what he found difficult to say..she took cs by his hand n said"chote sarkar...thode se paise aapke aur maxi ke liye..dr ashutosh aur mai chahte hain ki aap dono yeh trip khoob enjoy karein..aur jo mann ho wo lein...aur sabse zuroori baat...THANK YOU...HUMARE PARIVAR KA HISSA HONE KE LIYE.."as cs found himself fumbling for words...maxi spoke "thank you sir...humare liye itna sab karne ko..."and finally cs found his voice "daaktar sahab..bus aapke aur beebiji ke saath zindagi guzar jaaye..."n the rest was lost as dr ashutosh got up n hugged chote sarkaar...and reminded"dopahar mei rehna do ghante ko ..maxi, main aur nidhi thoda boating jaayenge..but till then u r free..jaao enjoy...aur haan dadi bua ko bataane ki zurooratnhi hai in sabke baremein"!!
Maxi exclaimed"25000rupees...itta paisa..."and cs smiled..."maxi..hum bahut lucky hain...ki yeh humari family hain..."and maxi smiled in silent agreement...

"Baithiye yahaan baba..."said nidhi as she spread his shawl around hus shoulders and baba sat looking at the lovely lake...col verma looked at armaan n said"chaliye armaan ..hum dono boating kar ke aate hain..."even as dadi bua wanted to tag along ...they escaped her as baba joked"arre samdhanji..yeh sab hum boodhon ke bass ki baat nahi..aaiye aap bhi baithiye...aur dekhiye is raunaq ko.."and dadi bua smiled as she sat onthe bench while dr ashutosh finalised two horses to take the kids on a ride...nishu sat on the big black one and held the reins while the horse tender smiled as nidhi warned"bhaiyaa dhyaan se..."and as ashutosh put his lil guddi on a grey horse with spots...guddi smiled n exclaimed "biggg doggie"and ashu nidhi laughed as they explained it was a horse n not a dog...gudfi however was enamored of the beast...but the moment the tender began to walk it..she yelled..."papppaaa"and dr ashutosh ran n held her..as she cried ...n he hugged her "no no...doggie ganda..go go..."and ashutosh had to pull her away n cuddle her...as nidhi came close trying to comfort the baby...nishu returning from his round waved "guddi...come on...u sissy "!!and guddi seemed to growl helplessly...as ashutosh comforted her n said"achcha..papa saath jaaogi mera baby ..bolo"?? And as nidhi called the horse tender ..ashutosh gave guddi to nidhi..n mounted the horse n as soon as he sat, guddi opened her arms...and ashutosh caught her and made her sit in front of him..cross legged, his large hand holding her secure as he rode the horse ...quite like a veteran as ashutosh rode with guddi giggling ...and nidhi walking behind them...quite difficult to keep pace with them...
Baba exclaimed to dadi bua"samdhanji...is bench pe baith ke...apne saamne se logon ko dekhna...its like...guzre hue zamaana ko phir se dekhna...lagta hai jaise apni zindagi phir se jee rahe hon..."dadi bua smiled in agreement and added"aur khaas taur pe..apne bete bahu..pote poti ko dekhna...isse badaa sukh aur kya ho sakta hai...siwa..." baba raised his eyebrow...n dadi bua got up to return with two bhels "siwa iss bhel poori ke..woh bhi nainital mei..."and both the oldies laughed as col verma waved to them n baba waved back...dadi bua spoke"samdhi ji,...kuch baras pehle kaun keh sakta tha..ki hum sab ek parivaar honge..daaktar auru nidhi itne sukhi honge...sach badi galti ho jaati humse..woh to aapne bacha liya..."baba interrupted"maine to buss apni galti sudhari...nandini ka to doshi rahoonga...per kum se kum...ashutosh nidhi ka to nahi hoon...mujrim..."
"Arre waah dadi bua aap log bhel khaa rahe hain mere bina..."it was nidhi who sat with them as nishu n guddi both were riding with their father...on the same horse...both sitting in front of him..n ashutosh holding them securely...till finally theyreturned ..and nishu shouted "papa is so good...at riding...how did u learn papa"??? Ashutosh laughed "beta england me padhte hue ...bahut saal ho gaye..."guddi sat n pointed to the ducks in the lake n sspoke"quack quack..duck"and nidhi lifted her up to show her around...
Armaan n cv returned...it was getting a lil cloudy and dr ashutosh said, "I think hotel chalna chahiye...thand hai..baba ke liye..."!!and all came back...as nidhi said"chalo bachchon...mamma paas"but was pleasently surprised when guddi spoke"bua nani...story..."n nishu jumped "aur phir ludo...chaliye na..."and dr ashutosh smiled at nidhi...whispering "theyr growing up..."!!and nidhi sighed...as dr ashutosh pulled her to him n ssaid"coffee"??? N nidhi nodded...as they walked out hand in hand...
"Yaad hai aapko..jab hum aaye the...tab..."ashutosh completed"yess yahaan coffee pee thi..aur wahaan se woh pink teddy liya tha..."nidhi smiled as she recalled how dr ashutosh had carried the teddy ..fondly...anticipating the soft feel of his first born..that was 6 months away...nidhi smiled n said"kal bachchon ko laayenge shopping ..archies mei..."ashutosh nodded n added as he paid the bill.."fine ..but right now we r going boating..see the lake is covered with clouds...lovely..chalo .."and even as nidhi protested..saying kids would wait for lunch..she found herself sitting next to her hubby in a lovely boat...as the boat man rowed...and they were in the clouds...as nidhi felt the clouds like a kid...only to get nothing in her hands...as ashutosh remarked"baadal bhi shaayad jazbaaton ki tarah hote hain...mehsoos hote hain...per unhe baandh nahi sakte..."and he put an arm around his nidhi as they rowed .forgetting the count of hours...in silence ..just quietly imbibing the beauty around and feeling the completeness in each other...as the boatman finaly stopped at the boat club, nidhi squealed quite like guddi..seeing the sail boats..."wow...so wonderful"but the boatman explained only those who erre trained at sailing could take those boats...asnidhi pouted and ashutosh shook his head ...before getting a twinkle in his eyes...
They walked back leisurely as armaan had messaged kids had eaten , played n were asleep...so ashu nidhi could walk leisurely...gazing at the shops..curios, shawls...just like any couple..ordinary normal...n yet ashutosh could feel people turn their heads...as a seemingly senior he..put hus arm around protectively n lovingly around his wife...18 years his junior...he observed it,.but it did nit threaten ..bother or trouble him anylonger...he was secure in his love...and in the knowledge that nidhi loved him more than any woman had ever loved any man...and he smiled as they finally reached the hotel...n entered the room...ashutosh stopping a second to hang DO NOT DISTURB...nidhi threw her shawl as she sat ..sipping water...and suddenly felt...dr ashutosh looking at her intently...she did not need to be told anything...she got up n put her head on his chest...as he lifted her to the bed...
About 40 minutes later the suite was echoing with soft groans...as dr ashutosh whispered"i am seeing u after ...so so long..."and nidhi groaned ...as she could sense his urgency...
As they lay a lil later...ashutosh looked at nidhi..caressing her waist,..."you have lost weight...here ..n here..."he said caressing her thighs...as nidhi purred...n said"so...u like it"?? And ashutosh raised himself on his elbow...looking at her ...n as his hand caressed her body...he spoke"your looks dont bother me...aur tum yeh jaanti ho...main tumhe jaisi tum ho..waise chahta hoon...pyaar koi cultured rose nahi hota,...ki manchahi qualities incorporate ker lee...jo ho..jaisi ho..meri ho..."and nidhi closed her eyes as she moved closer...as dr ashutosh held her close...his heart beat against hers...

Ashu listened as guddi told the story that she had learnt from dadi bua..she had it all jumbled up..but nidhi helped her...n nishu laughed"mamma..how do u know this one"?? N nidhi laughed"beta dadi bua mujhe bhi yehi story sunati thi...same one"and nishu laughed...as nidhi emerged in her phiran n slacks...and the family walked to the balcony..looking at the lamps glittering in the lake...reflections that seemed to shine like their future...beautigul together...always..and just as aahutosh held nidhi's hand...guddi said ..."aahaaa..chooo pretty..."and nishu kissed her...as ashutosh put his arms around them ...holding protectively...his treasuires of life,...as he hummed
