Girls .when do you think MAllu started having doubts about Ashni ..she started resenting Nidz when Ashu backed her decision to take patient for scan...and prevented Mallu from sending her out of OT...but real doubts arose during Priyanka's wedding right...when Mallu sounded off Ashu before driving away in a taxi...accusing him of letting Nidhi drag him for a dance while ignoring her requests on the same issue

Mallu is a dimwit actually (I dont have to reiterate that point I think ..given her infamous 12 saal wait).
and may be Priyanka's wedding must have been a wakeup call for her rather than getting jealous.
She was under the impression that Ashu can never get changed. now from Priyanka's wedding, she got the clue that Ashu is also malleable.

Do you think Ashu would have married anyone else if Nidhi didn't come into the picture...would he have married Mallu...esp to prevent her from marrying JAgan ????

What if a proposal had come from a decent and influential family...willing to take him as a jamai and give him the family he longed for...the girl being a respectable doc herself

absolutely... as that is what happened eventually.

Otherwise, I believe it is impossible to 'Love at first sight'... and its always, 'Like at first sight' for decent person like Ashu & 'Lust at first sight' for (TheEntireWorld-Ashu). So, if Nidhi was not there later, Ashu would have forgotten her.

BTW, Ashu prevented Mallu marrying Jagan because of Jagan's past history or something. I think it makes anybody suspect about a person who appears after 12 years out of thin air. But Mallu misread it. She kept her hopes up.

Yes...but would Ashu sacrifice his independence and marry Mallu just to prevent her from marrying Jagan?????????He knew Jagan was bad...and MAllu won't listen...would he have felt dutybound to protect her by marrying her...moreover even BB had plans of marrying Ashu to Mallu ...it was just by divine interevention that he got to know that Nidhi was Ashu's gal...and he dropped the plan of sabotaging Mallu-Jagan wedding

Would he have married some KGH trustees decent and capable daughter if a proposal had come

I think during Priyanka's wedding,, Ashutosh was more in contact with Nidhi than with Mallika, which Mallika resented but after that when in the tea-stall Nidhi took mobile call of Ashutosh and mentioned that she has seen very different Dr. Ashutosh, Mallika was totally disturbed and started doubting. On the same day she also had heard Suhasin discussing about her marriage and relation with dr. Ashutosh.

I dont think Ashu would have taken a step to stop Mallika marrying Jagan. Ashu was practically single at the time of her marriage and if he wanted that way, he would have done that (I dont think there is an element like sacrifice here)

and he was not against marriage at the same time. He wanted Mallu's company as a trusted friend but no more. So I dont rule out the possibility of him getting married to someone else.

In one of the first few episodes, Mallu openly proposes him and saying the above, he rejects her.
