True, but he realized he did not want to be lonely. So he 'thinks' an arranged marriage is one where his emotions can be in control. Also, he does not want to get his hopes high right away - he wants to make sure that family agrees to a double alliance that too with a divorcee. If they were not comfortable then he did not want to proceed and spoil Anji's future too .So he is being cautious as well.

Makes me wonder how he would react once he gets to know who the girl is!! Would he be happy that its Nidhi or would he back out because he doesn't want to risk his heart again??
