After reading the brilliant FF of Suvika and Sujatha was in deep thought , wandered if it happened to any of us would we give into a "FATAL ATTRACTION" if u are engaged or married and u met the man of your dreams , would all your principles , your thoughts just vanish , would the attraction be like a flood which sweeps all away , or would u try and find that safe island , in the middle of nowhere and jump on it , personally ,there are no judgements as to why one person does , or does not , it's your individual choice as an adult, , maybe , maybe I would have been more of a coward wouldn't want to hurt the one u profess to love , or maybe ,more practical wouldn't like to jeopordize my home or family , society can be a harsh place , don't know , what would u do?

wow Dr Babs!!

yes..attraction can be indeed fatal..

yes..society is indeed a harsh and judgemental place

But sometimes we may not be given the option of choosing one...

Thats what this the FF was about, right? The more i think of that NIdhi, the more i am fascinated by the complex character and the emotional roller coaster that she is going through. She can't deny her feelings for a relative stranger and neither can she negate what she felt for Rohan all these days..a gentle cooling and soothing breeze after a tiring day Vs a tempest in a still silent environment..

Doc Babs.. Interesting post.. Honestly I don't think I could jeopardize life for the sake of my kids.. They come first at all costs.

And Doc.. Finally got my problems resolved thanks for the encouragement

Do kids change things ? Yes for a lot of us they do , but what of the people ,men or women ,who get into it despite families do we condone it , or do we make judgements , after its their rights as an individual ,what would u advice someone who came to for this, remember children when young can never forgive or forget , as older adults may understand and sympathise , lets see what we as grown mature people think of this fatal attraction

A very interesting thread, Dr Babs...

I will say only one thing...it is all very well too speak hypothetically,.,we like to believe we are principled etc etc...

Maybe some of us are strong enough to be that way! Maybe we have an iron will that is our armour against any form of temptation. But, the truth is, the good majority of us are only too human. We are made of flesh and blood after all. And the flesh is weak! By flesh, I don't necessarily mean the body but the heart too! I mean, apart from the physiological functions of the heart, we like to believe that it is what makes us susceptible to emotions, So, until we are right there, in the midst of whirlwind, no saying what any of us would do!

My mother has a friend. She was widowed young and had three kids. When she was close to forty, she met a man. He was also in an unhappy marriage. They fell in love. The wife refused to give him a divorce and her children refused to accept him. She told the man that she could not abandon the children since they did not have a father either. So, they were in what the world would call an illicit relationship, for more than ten years. The kids grew up and got married. She told them that she had lived long enough just for them. Now, it was time for her to come out in the open about her relationship, The man left his wife, they started living together and finally, he got a divorce. They got married but only one of her children attended. The other two were ashamed and refused to even speak to her, interestingly, the one who attended was a daughter and the other two were sons.

Anyway, they were very happy together for close to twenty years, He died recently. Her sons are talking to her now!

@sujatha, read ur comments , sorry am in between patients so am just adding yes all of us are human and how many can really resist it , a known person 's story this lady was supposedly happily married with 2 daughters , she ran away with this guy , and there was a huge scandal , the husband gave his wife a divorce and those two got married , however the man became an alcoholic , unable to accept his wife's behavior and died of cirrhosis , by the time the lady had realised that her new husband was a debauched man , her daughters never forgave her they refused to even to talk to her when the ex husband died , so what was the end result , sadness all around
