ASHNI'S 'LOVE' FILLED MUSICAL NOTES
Romance is in the air when Ashni are around. Their sheer presence exuded romance, every look exchanged, every word spoken, every little gesture seemed to underline the love they shared. But it was not always so. As they grew as a couple one could feel the growth in the depth of their relationship just by the way they looked out for the other person before they took care of themselves. So lets take a walk down memory lane and look at another gesture that defined ASHNI Romance...MUSIC.
Music:
Quote "If music be the food of love, play on.." End quote.
This very famous line is a quote from William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Shakespeare is said to have believed that music is indeed "the food of love".
Through the ages music has been synonymous with love. Songs have been sung for people in love, out of love, lovers who are together or separated. Music has always touched a chord in people. Often it is noted that the saddest songs bring out the sweetest memories. And in KTLK music played a crucial part, many a time taking the story forward. Music brought Ashu and Nidhi together at the Dargah at the same time on that fateful afternoon when they confessed their love. Ashu for whom music was lost with Baba's desertion regained it with the entry of Nidhi in his life, like Paradise Lost and Regained for him. After they got together we have seen a reticent Ashu express his feelings of love through his violin. One can attach great significance to the fact that henceforth he played only for Nidhi, except the one time when Mallika forcibly took him away during his recital for Nidhi. Though Nidhi was not proficient in music, she had a ear for good music and she loved Ashu's violin recitals. She even requested he serenade her to sleep by playing for her over the phone. Through these glimpses I have attempted to re-capture those magical moments and musical gestures in the show when music took center stage and even lifted the script from mundane to something special and unforgettable ...
1. Ashu who gave up music after Baba's desertion plays the violin for the first time in years after Nidhi enters his life...
2. When they went to lunch with Armaan and Rohan respectively, Ashu and Nidhi found themselves stuck at the same traffic jam near a Dargah and were drawn towards it because of the Sufi Qawali being sung there... ah! the power of music that brought two loving souls in front of each other and together for life..
3. During an impromptu date at a Dhaba Nidhi loses herself in the mesmerizing words of the Punjabi folk song "Heer" and Ashu loses himself in her beauty...
4. And during their official "Violin" date, Ashu gives a solo performance just for Nidhi and later serenades her to sleep by playing violin on the phone for the second time that day. In fact this made Nidhi so curious she even attempts to learn violin for Ashu's sake...
5. Ashu played the violin when he wanted to lift Nidhi's spirits...
6. Or when he wanted to celebrate a special day. On his birthday he also played the piano...
7. Sometimes Ashu and even Nidhi have flexed their vocal chords to delight each other and us with a song...
8. This musical journey is incomplete without a mention of all the times music has conveyed Ashni's mood to us while in the car, happy, sad, angry, annoyed and so on...
If we talk of music how can dance lag behind? So get your dancing shoes out and those feet tapping, coz its the time to groove...
