I don't think the intention was to portray age related compatibility issues...more lifestyle related then anything else...and it might seem like a male ego thing when a man reacts badly to the wife not making his morning tea...but the same man had no qualms making tea for her instead just a couple of days ago...it is more of social conditioning here...the man has no issues about anything in private...but when it comes to public appearances, he would prefer to stick to the traditional role that has been prescribed over generations...secondly, from Ashu's perspective, I think the issue was also that he wanted his wife to appear perfect in front of his family...he did not want her image slipping even a bit...unreasonable or otherwise, these are very predictable reactions...doctor or not, Ashu is still a man and an older one at that...
From Nidhi's pov, from being a pampered wife, she is now having to wake up to everyday realities...and being young, she is finding her husband's transition from besotted lover to a slightly prickly husband just a tad tough to handle...completely empathize with her...
In day to day life, it is these small issues that cause the strain rather than any major drama...glad to see that the writers are continuing to keep it real...guess one needs to enjoy it while one can...God knows when this one too shall take the melodramatic turn...
Anyway, knowing Nidhi, she is not likely to allow Dadi Bua to upset the apple cart...but how Ashu may react to any baseless accusations is another matter...He is not likely to take it kindly particularly if Dadi Bua trains her guns at Baba...
All in all, interestingly poised I would say!
Edited - the only part I dont like is the fact that Nidhi is behaving like a housewife instead of the professional she is...maybe Ashu wouldn't ask her to make tea if she got back to her medical duties instead 😆
