There has been some confusion around whether Kuch Toh Log Kahenge(KTLK)is going to have a new lead. The buzz has been that veteran actor Mohnish Behl, who plays Dr Ashutosh, may no longer be associated with the show and a senior actor will be brought in to enact the role.

The show is focused on an older man's - played by Mohnish - amorous relationship with a younger colleague Nidhi (Kritika Kamra) who works with him in a hospital.

They whys and the wherefores behind this change are unclear. But apparently according to people close to the show, a story track has been drawn up wherein Dr Ashutosh, will meet with an accident and die after getting a call from Nidhi that she is getting engaged to Rohan (Karan Wahi), thus marking his exit from the show. This is likely to happen this week sometime. Whether he will make his comeback after

that – as has been the ploy in many Indian drama series - is also unclear.

Apparently, senior actors such as Anuj Saxena, Anoop Soni and Cezanne Khan have been approached to replace him and will play another love angle for Dr Nidhi.

Again as stated this is unconfirmed news. KTLK producer Rajan Shahi did not respond to calls and SMSs. Sony Entertainment business head Sneha Rajani too did not reply. Sony Entertainment programming head Virendra Shahane also kept his lips zipped.

Sony Entertainment has been banking heavily on KTLK but it has not entered the success zone that the other show Bade Achche Lagte Hain… has. Also, the casting was pretty painstaking and any change in the lead is likely to have ramifications as far as viewers are concerned and could be a big gamble. Will it work? We will find out only when all the folks involved in this entire episode of replace-Mohnish Behl come on record.
