It has now become the latest trend in the telly industry that the makers of the show imbibe the titles from the popular Bollywood songs.

Some of the examples to site this article are TV serial 'Bade Achhe Laggte Hain' on Sony Entertainment Television whose title is taken from 1976 hit blockbuster 'Balika Badhu'. Another one is TV serial 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' on Star Plus that has taken its title from a song from Kareena-Tusshar starrer flick titled 'Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai', another one a spoofy show on telly screens titled 'Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo' on SAB TV has taken its title from the famous song- 'sajan re jhooth mat bolo, khuda ke pass jana hai' from the hit movie 'Teesri Kasam' and so on.

Ace Producer Kamlesh Pandey of serial 'Rukk Jaana Nahi' says that it has become a process in the telly industry where makers seek for an emotional chord and they find nothing better than a popular lovely song from a Bollywood movie to name their serial. He said that his serial 'Rukk Jaan Nahi' on Star Plus is named after the popular song 'ruk jaana nahi' from 1974 hit 'Imtihan'. He also added that these kind of open ended titles for the TV serials help the scriptwriters to introduce twists in the story as and when required.

Rangmunch.TV spoke to Cinevistaas Producer Siddharth P Malhotra of popular serial 'Ek Hazaaron Mei Meri Behna Hai' on Star Plus and this is what he has to say about this new trend on television. "We had initially thought of the Title Tum Se Hi and registered the name even. But then my wife apparently suggested the title Ek Hazaro Mein Meri Behna Hai, since it is the story of two sisters. So we discussed the same with the channel and they approved it. Also using old songs as the title adds recall value because audiences are familiar with the song." However, he also says that it is not only the title that captivates viewers' interests but also the characters of the serial are important. Therefore he feels that though the titles of the shows are imbibed from the popular songs but the strength also lies in the characters of the TV show.

Sudhir Sharma of Sunshine Productions and Producer ofNa Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha on Colors also shares an interesting take about this ongoing trend. "In case of Na Bole Tum, I would say we were really not looking for a song as the title. In fact we had suggested hundreds of options of titles to the Channel. See I don't want to say it was channel's decision or my decision, its nothing like that because we also like it now. To be honest, the day the Na Bole Tum title was decided I was cribbing as to why another film song, since there was already a Bade Acche Lagte Hain and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and ten other shows following the same trend. But now when I look back, I really feel its good to have this kind of a title because it goes with my story. The main dilemma in the story gets beautifully conveyed through the title Na bole tum na maine kuch kaha, pyaar ke bina kahe sune hi baat ho gayi. So it goes with the theme of the show so well and does not look like we are trying to fit in one title which is taken from a popular song. Also frankly speaking half of the youngsters may not even be aware that such a song exists. So the idea behind this was purely the recall factor."

Though the list is endless but we close it with a hope that these poetic titles continue to strike an emotional chord between the shows and the viewers.
