Guilt is debilitating. Dev accepted all of Ishwari's actions because he felt guilty and helpless. When he met Soha too he immediately told her that he was her dad and not approach Sona first.
Sona was unaware that Soha was not her daughter, but Rohit was aware that Ayush was not his son. That he had wronged both Ayush and Suhana. Dev and Sona were kind of celebrities who made national news. Their break up too was national. Rohit knew what kind of life Ayush would have if he grew with Sona and Dev. He knew that Ayush was not getting what he deserves. At the same time he also knew that his daughter got what she didn't deserve either. Then there was the fact that he hid the truth from his own parents.
Guilt can be debilitating. It can paralyze a person. I feel like he not wanting to meet Soha nor ask for her on his deathbed was the result of that guilt. He knew he had no answers for Soha's questions. He was not ready to take on that burden too to his grave. And I feel that is the same reason for the grandparents too for not asking about Soha. They are consumed by their guilt. They are scared of Soha's questions like "why did you not want me?, why couldn't you love me as me?" etc.
It is a wonderful storyline with lots of emotions involved. I am liking it. :)
Dev is actually a great human being
Since he lost his childhood he doesn’t want his children to go through it .
He wanted to get them back faster ..,Soha’s case also was the same .
Rohit I think he never considered Soha as his daughter also I guess , he had Ayush and happy with that fact .
It could be guilt too
I always admire the characterization of Dev , it is a difficult character to play , his character went through maximum colour changes .
Through all that he was always a great human being , earlier I think in 219 once Sona came to know her inability to conceive , of that professing of love Dev show how much he loved through those words
“ I am not enough for you , we complete each other”
For him to love her like that is incredible , same Dev loves his mother too unconditionally but no one is perfect
Dev is like a deep ocean with lot hidden cyclones but his love is like water in ocean always to its fullest
His love for his children forced him to reveal it a way fast , he couldn’t control it .
