After watching last night's episode i was pretty much convinced that sonakshi's negligent attitude towards the last night incident would not go well with the people.Here is an attempt to explain it.
Nearly 12 years back i attended a workshop on psychology( not my field only on insistence of my friend) where we were given a case study and we had to analyse the reactions of the people involved in the accident. The background of the incident was similar to what was shown in the show except there was no phones during that time and goons were bit more extreme.

If we look at Sonakshi's pov she could sense danger and uneasiness with the men staring and the one in the bus but in all of this she was confident that once dev comes in the picture everything will be fine. When one of the men started approaching sonakshi her mind knew what danger was approaching but with the entry of dev her belief also came true that her hero will save her.
So Sonakshi already knew the danger she could be facing but Dev rescuing her made believe that she is safe till he is present which made it easy for her to forget the situation.
It is only about believing had she been not confident of Dev not protecting her the impact would have been vastly different but when the things happen according to your predictions life seems to be smooth and we even forget the biggest traumas.
