Sam- Ditto my feeling for Lakshya. Though I am currently going to wait to like him and link him to Sona 1.0.(my love for Sona 1.0 was unparalleled, but Ishwari 2.0 is fast competing for that coveted spot.)

@ Aishu

Take a bow. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for identifying who suffered more, emotionally. Your post is like oasis,I must admit.

I always mention in my posts that Dev lost the zeal to live and his statement is true, he would have ended his life itself had he not bound by his responsibilities.

Yes Sonakshi did not realise the level to which he sank in his depression. She still has to feel the pain of Dev Dixit to apologise in the real sense. He just roamed without knowing his destination. He stopped reacting to anything or anyone around him. His sisters felt bad for his behaviour but Dev can not help but continue his aimless life that is deprived of any connection with his soul.

There is a famous line that tells about the significance of Shiv Shakti Union. It says that Shiv with Shakti ( Parvati) means auspiciousness . But without sakti he is equal to Shav a
( lifeless )corpse.

When Sati immolated herself at Daksha's sacrifice,Shiva went into samadhi, the unconscious state. He regained his Shiv Tatv only after Sati reached him in the form of Parvati.

Dev's love for Sonakshi also is devine . Sonakshi survived without Dev but Dev lost himself in her absence. Sonakshi might have cried so many times as per Asha's words, but Dev could not even cry his heart out. He just could not act or react to anything.

I wish and hope his sisters would realise his helplessness to be with them when they needed him.

I don't consider Dev weak hearted or vulnerable in love. I look at him in awe for showing how a man should love his woman.

Thank you Dev Dixit.

Sam di,
I loved your analysis, but I don't agree with some parts. I feel like Dev is a classic example of this:

My story:

There was once a blind woodcutter, who lived an honest and contended life though he was blind. He never saw his blindness as debilitating. One day he gets injured due to his blindness and god sees that. Feeling pity for the man, god grants him the power to see without the man asking. So when the man can see, he is in awe of everything and treasures this new power. After the man getting used to sight and the man to have a footing in his life. His original blindness begs him to come back. The man, unwillingly, thinking that he enough light for a lifetime requests god to make him blind once again. God sees that the man doesn't need the sight anymore and gives the darkness once again. The man lost and confused in this state, does not feel the original content he found in his blind lifestyle and kills himself. Once in heaven, god asks him why he killed himself? The woodcutter said that, before he never saw his blindness as a debilitating factor, he had just lived with it. But after getting sight he realized all that he had missed while being blind. So when he went back to blindness all he could remember was how sight was and hoe blindness crippled him. He began viewing the darkness as a debilitating. Not able to live in sight or blindness, he killed himself.

Lakshmi di,
That was a great example! I feel like that too. I felt that Dev had it worse in the separation than Sona. Sona though lost a part of her in that time, had the familial and friend support to come out to surviving. But Dev lacked that support from the start, and after Pre-nup and other events any support was probably severed off by him. Also early on the separation, Sona found a will to survive because of Soha. Soha kept that small survivng aspect that her support gave her in tact to forge on. But Dev had no will to survive, without any aspect of him living he basically did not care for anything, as in his way he had no ties and people to care for him. Golu kept him sane, but Golu won't be a reason for his existence as Soha was for Sona.

@Aishu: Thanks for taking pains to re-type the story! I am not sure I understand how it diverges from my characterisation of Dev, though I do believe Dev is a bit more complicated than the man in this story. When Dev got his "sight" he ended up seeing both things that were beautiful and things that were horrible. When he was blind, he let Ishwari lead him but now that he had opened his eyes, he couldn't control what he saw, and it made him very cynical to see that the bad outweighed and overwhelmed the good. When Sona left, he figured it was best to shut out both the bad and the good, and live indifferently, so he just closed his eyes as a coping mechanism. As much as he craved it, he never actually got his original blindness back.

Sam di,
Yes of course! Your explaining helped connect it to Dev more. Maybe you are right we probably were looking at different ways for the same event. I think I just didn't catch it, sorry :)! We make a good reintegrating team 😛!

Hi guys, Nowadays I am barely making posts since many of us are giving the points rightly. So there was nothing to add on. But today I just got miffed with one thing going on twitter and here too.i.e., team sona, team dev and now team nikki.
But according to me, why there is a need to take sides from the beginning? We are not talking about someone doing the ultimate good or the other being constantly at fault. We should be focussing on how the characters are reacting to the situations. That marks the progress in the characters which is very well shown in each episode for each character. It comes to responding to the situations rather than reacting to them. We should be able to understand the reactions of everyone as to why they did what they did and think over it. It is not supporting them but going on with the story and seeing how every character is flawed and in what way. Devakshi got separated because at that time they had 'enough' of the other. Each one has blown up the other's faults out of proportion. Now they both know their mistakes and knew where they went wrong and it was fair enough to get back. This shows marriages should not build on expectations but on trust and patience. The sisters too were never exposed to a brother who thinks of himself. They were brought up in an atmosphere where he did everything for them. But when the time came he left everything and how. It was a sudden jolt. This made them see him as selfish. We could have expected them to stand by their broken brother but again humans are never 100% correct every time. We need to understand what made them take such steps. Understanding is not supporting but accepting.

P.S. I did not know where to make this post. Please give your views.

Aishu agree with you . Dev has gloom all around him with no one to hold the light of hope. Sonakshi is lucky to have everything working for her except a loving husband. Parents, brother, friend and above all Soha. She has her grit and determination to fight with adversity. Also I feel love is not the dominating factor that motivated her existence. It was so even when she was with Dev before break up. Sonakshi loved Dev with clarity that her love is genuine, unshaken but it is not everything that dictates her life. The difference between the nature of their love is vivid and certain.

I won't undermine Sonakshi's love also because of the fact that she loved Dev and she could love Dev Dixit only.

While I worship Dev for the lover he is I respect Sonakshi for her kind of love.
