So Durjoy Dutta thinks that Dev and Sona are two characters who are so arrogant in their love that they become blind to the feelings of those around them. I also understand the concept of the leads being flawed and manipulating certain situations to suit themselves like it happens in real life. But is it okay to compromise on basic morality and decency just because you are blindly in love and cant see beyond yourself or your partner? Lets take both the leads into consideration here-
Dev-

Post break up 1, he stalked Sonakshi, ruined Ritwik's business, kept interrupting their dates and reminding Sonakshi of their love yet was incapable of taking a stand, finally collapsed during their engagement all in the name of love and was ready to move on the next day hoping that the scapegoat got engaged to Sonakshi despite all the drama they created.

Sona-

Kept telling Ritwik she wants to move on though she kept crying for Dev in private and was nowhere close to moving on, looked forward to his calls and his arrival during the engagement, eye-locked and cried for Dev during her engagement while dancing with Ritwik, ran to him half way through the function and finally din even break the engagement till the poor scapegoat aka Ritwik had enough and walked out.

Now lets come to the current track

Dev

Purposefully leads on a girl to make Sona jealous, acts all excited and prepones the engagement, fake romances with her with gajra et el, probably went out on dates, involved her family, doesn't put a full stop to it despite being repeatedly questioned by the girl and cant stop gushing about the ex in front of her.

Sona

Pushes Dev to get engaged, knows his feelings, flirts with him in his bedroom and ogles at him yet 5 minutes later lies to the poor innocent girl that they are sure they dont want to get back together, blasts her father for destroying her life, is jealous everytime Dev spends time with the poor fiancee etc. etc.

Please tell me if both these characters have a shred of dignity left. And how and why it is okay for them to repeatedly use third parties to prove their point to each other. Dont get me wrong. I loved Dev and Sona. I loved the Dev who broke the engagement with Natasha the moment he realized he was in love. I loved the Sonakshi who held her head high and told herself it was probably not meant to be when Dev was supposed to get engaged with Natasha. The current version of their characters are despicable.

How will Dev feel if a guy in future uses Soha to make his ex-confess her feelings?
How will Sona feel if a guy who is supposed to get engaged to Soha is flirting with his ex in his bedroom and the said girl is making gooey eyes at him all the while assuring Soha that they have moved on?
How will Durjoy Dutta feel if one of his kids/relatives were subjected to this?
How will Yash/Mamta feel about a similar scenario in real life?
Will they still gush and call it 'arrogance of love" or whatever thats supposed to be? 😆
How can everything be justified in the name of love?

P.S. The only reason why I remotely root for Dev-Sona these days is because of Shaheer-Erica and the fact that I have feeling following this show from day 1. There is nothing to them beyond the actors at this point.

Valid questions...😊
But, maybe what the makers are trying to convey is that...these are not the right tarikaas to tend to all the problems that happened and are happening. There are other ways...Find it & choose that.

Am really not sure if that is the message they intend to convey after reading DD's blog 😆

All your questions are correct. But at the end of the day, this is a fictional show and it is someone else's story. So it's their wish on how they want to tell it. We can only watch it but surely not take life lessons from it😊

Recently I was watching Jolly LLB 2 and Akshay kumar's character makes very potent point there that whoever in this world had made this proverb that EVERYHING IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR is the biggest fool because if that's the case then a jilted lover throwing acid on ex lover is also justified as well as a murder of a person is also justified.
So in no way whatever Dev or Sonakshi have done can be justified, though at the end of the day probably it does not harm anyone but a wrong is a wrong, there is no way that can be justified.
At the end of the day, it's just a fictional show.
Just my POV, no offence to anyone
