SEEING THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SERIAL I THOUGHT OF WRITING A SHORT STORY ABOUT THE ONGOING TRACK.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I AM WRITING SOMETHING IN THE FORUM AND I HOPE ALL OF YOU WILL LIKE IT.
I AM NOT THAT PROFESSIONAL AS MOST OF THE WRITERS IN THE FORUM BUT I WILL TRY TO DO MY BEST.😊

ABOUT THIS STORY:
THROUGH THIS SS I WOULD LIKE TO SHOW ABOUT HOW KHATRI'S PRESENSE IS GOING TO STRENGTHEN DEVAKSHI'S BOND AND ABOUT THEIR WAY TO REDEMPTION.
I AM NOT GOING TO REVEAL ANYTHING ABOUT KHATRI'S SECRET IN THIS SS.I WILL BE ACTUALLY USING HIM AS A CATALYST THAT WOULD HELP DEVAKSHI TO MEND THEIR WAYS.

PART-1 PROLOGUE

I AM READY TO SACRIFICE MYSELF FOR YOU...

Sonakshi was standing near the window of the guest room of the Ishwari Mansion .Even though she was physically inside the room, mentally she was lost somewhere in her horrible past.The words that Dev told her some hours ago was mentally disturbing her, as she didn't expect such harsh words from her LOVE. Yes she still loved him immensely but he never seemed to realize that.He was annoyed with her for roaming around with Jatin during late hours at night,but little did he know that she was doing all this for protecting his family from a strange and dangerous guy- Khatri.She knew he was extremely possessive of her and Suhana but she didn't expect him to shout at her in a horrible manner and question her character.She got to know from Elena that now he will only be back after one or two weeks.This pained her even more as she won't be able to see and fight with him regularly.She loved fighting with him for stupid reasons.It allowed her to be connected to him in some way or another.It seemed that they were born to fight with each other.

MAAA..., her 6 year old daughter called out to her bringing her out from her deep thoughts.YES BETA, she said while keeping her daughter on her lap.WHERE IS PAPPA?? She didn't know what to say to Suhana as she herself didn't know where Dev was. I DON'T KNOW,MAYBE HE MUST HAVE GONE OUTSIDE.

SUHANA...GOLU called out to his sister,hearing her brother calling him she stood up from Sona's laps and ran towards Golu.

When Sona was left alone again she got back to her deep thought.She felt that she had to find the true intention of khatri and his real relation with the Dixits.Just then her phone started beeping and it was Jatin's call.

SONA:HELLO JATIN,WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME NOW,IS THERE ANY PROBLEM?

JATIN:SONA,I CALLED TO SAY THAT KHATRI IS STANDING JUST IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE.

SONA:WHAT!! was almost shocked hearing this.

JATIN:MAYBE HE WANTS TO MEET YOU.YOU COME OUTSIDE FAST.

SONA:OK JATIN, I WILL COME.

OUTSIDE DIXIT HOUSE

Sona ran as fast as possible and got out of the house and there he was standing just ouside the house with his evil smile.Sona walked with fast steps towards him and asked him,

SONA: WHAT DO YOU WANT,WHY ARE YOU BEHIND MRS DIXIT AND HER FAMILY.

KHATRI:YOU GO AND ASK THESE QUESTIONS TO YOUR LOVELY MOTHER IN LAW,SHE MIGHT BE ABLE TO ANSWER YOUR QUIERIES MUCH BETTER THAN ME,he said with an evil grin.

This instigated Sonakshi furthur,she was boiling with anger,she did not know what to do exactly but she had to do something really fast.But before she could say something Khatri again started speaking,- KHATRI:IF YOU LOVE YOUR LIFE,ITS BETTER YOU STAY AWAY FROM ALL THIS BUT IF YOU WANT TO INVOLVE IN THIS THEN YOU SHOULD ACCEPT TO ANY ONE OF MY CONDITIONS.

SONA:WHAT ARE YOUR CONDITIONS?

KHATRI:CONDITION 1:TELL ME WHERE ISHWARI IS AND CONDITION 2:YOU SHOULD COME TO THE PLACE WHERE I SAY YOU TO COME.YOU SHOULD COME ALONE AND NO ONE SHOULD ACCOMPANY YOU.

Sona did not know what to do but she can never tell him where auntiji was,that could be dangerous so she decided to opt for the second option,even though she knew it could invite danger into her life.But still she wanted to give it a try as to what he was planning to do if she didn't accept any of his options.

SONA:WHAT IF I DON'T COME? Sonakshi asked with confidence.

KHATRI:THEN I WILL DESTROY THIS HOUSE.

Sona by now understood that the secret Khatri was hiding was something really big that it could destroy the whole Dixits forever.But she could never let that happen because then all of Dev's hard earned money and position in the society would be finished.So she decided to give into his demands for her Dev.

SONA:FINE,I WILL COME BUT AFTER THAT YOU WILL NEVER BOTHER THIS FAMILY AGAIN.

Khatri knew that Sonakshi would go for the second condition.

KHATRI:FINE, Khatri said.He had some other plans up in his sleeves for Sona.

SONA:WHERE SHOULD I COME??Sona asked.

KHATRI:NEAR DEV'S OLD RENTED HOUSE AT SHARP 9:00 AT NIGHT AND REMEMBER YOU SHOULD BE ALONE, he said and he walked in to the crowd leaving Sona baffled.

Jatin who was seeing all this sitting in his car went up to Sona to ask about what Khatri said to her.Sona narrated everything to him and after keeping silent for sometime Jatin spoke to her with concern,

JATIN:SONA ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THIS,WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHETHER WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH.KHATRI IS A VERY CUNNING PERSON.IF YOU GO THERE ALONE IT COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR YOUR LIFE.

SONA:I KNOW JATIN BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION LEFT.I AM READY TO DO ANYTHING FOR DEV.

JATIN:BUT I WILL ACCOMPANY YOU,FOR YOUR SAFETY.

SONA:NO JATIN DON'T COME WITH ME IT COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR YOU AND MOREOVER DEV DOSEN'T LIKE ME ROAMING AROUNG WITH YOU.

JATIN:FINE, I WILL NOT COME WITH YOU BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY POBLEM PLEASE CALL ME AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.

PART 2

IN DEV'S FARMHOUSE

Dev was sitting near the bar-pub of his huge farmhouse. He was fully drunk and but he was aware of his surroundings. The last time he drank in this manner was 7 years back when he himself said his LOVE to get out of his house. He badly wanted to stop her but was unable to do so as he was blinded by his weird responsibilities towards his family. He was so shattered back then but what shattered him the most was that his mother fooled him and managed to get his signature on the prenup papers even before he got married to Sona. His soul was crushed when Sona refused to believe him, but why would she? Whenever Sona trusted him blindly, he was always hell bend in destroying her trust.

Ever since he met her after 7 long horrible years all his wounds that he had managed to bury within his heart buy showing everyone his carefree attitude resurfaced. He was upset with her for not believing him but he was more angered by the fact that she still had the power to decide his feelings and mentality,such was the power she had over him. But maybe it was also because he still LOVED her immensely. And everything she said and did still mattered to him. But nowadays he had started to feel that she is not bothered about him as she was really interested in a man named Jatin. He had caught her with him in many places and whenever he tried to question her about the same she always replied that Jatin was her childhood friend. He had never seen any of her childhood friends in the few months he was acquainted with her and her relationship with Jatin was really annoying him. He was so irritated that in his anger and pain he called her a BAD MOTHER and also questioned her character. But now he really regretted doing so. She must have felt really bad his heart said but even I felt bad, his brain countered the feelings of his heart.

Suddenly the glass of alchohol,slipped from his hand and the glass pieces pierced into his hand.He didn't really want to tend to the wounds as the pain of the memories of his horrible past were much bad than the pain caused by the wounds.But still he decided to wrap his wounds to prevent any kind of infection. Even this particular scene reminded him of the times when Sona used to tend to his wounds with her TINY MINY HANDS. After dressing his wounds his focused his attention to the wall which was filled with their wedding pictures, pictures taken during their engagement, haldi ceremony, neha's wedding, their pictures that reminded him about the GOLDEN PERIOD of their life and everything that were just THEIRS. There was also their latest photo which included Dev, Sona,Suhana and Golu-THEIR TINY MINY FAMILY. They had always dreamt of having such a family but destiny had other plans for them.

He then retired to his master bedroom and opened his wardrobe where he had neatly kept her old cloths,her earrings, bangles, makeup, scarfs and offcourse her MANGALSUTRA-which reminded him about the beautiful relationship they once shared.

By now his eyes were brimming with tears and as he couldn't control it anymore he closed the wardrobe and returned to the pub. The alchohol he consumed had affected his brain that after some time sleep overtook him.

DIXIT HOUSE

Here in Dixit House,Sona was getting ready to meet Khatri at the place he told her to come. She knew that she was purposely going to a lion's den and it could be dangerous for her life.

After making her daughter sleep she left the room and as she was going from the room her eyes were filled with tears as she was not sure if she would be able to meet her daughter again. She was worried for the fact that if something would happen to her what would Soha do. But later she calmed herself as she was sure Dev would always be there for Soha no matter what. While she was lost in her deep thoughts, Jatin called her.

SONA: HELLO JATIN?

JATIN: HELLO,SONA... ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS?IT COULD BE DANGEROUS AND IT'S NOT SAFE FOR YOU TO GO ALONE, he warned her.

SONA:YES JATIN,I SHOULD.

JATIN:SONA,IF YOU REALLY WANT MY HELP PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CALL ME.

SONA:YES JATIN.

JATIN:BEST OF LUCK SONA.

SONA:THANKYOU JATIN

After finishing the call Sona looked at the clock and found that it was about to be 8:15,so she quickly, grabbed her bag and ran out of the house after making sure that no one was watching her go. She quickly got into her car and drove to the place Dev had proposed her-DEV'S OLD RENTED HOUSE. She was somewhat better now in her driving skills than the time she last drove a car to take Dev to hospital.

DEV'S FARMHOUSE

A loud screech of a car was enough to wake Dev up from his short sleep. He was totally consciousness now and was aware of his surroundings and the small nap he took had regenerated his senses. He suddenly got up from his seat and went out as he felt a strong urge to see the reason that disturbed his sleep. As he came outside he saw Sona driving her car all alone and going to some place at this hour of night. At first he thought that she might be going to meet her so called friend Jatin but then he couldn't understand as to why she was going all alone to meet him as whenever he saw them together he would be driving the car and she would sit on the seat beside him.

He was unable to control his curiosity and so, he rushed out, started his bike, put on his helmet and with a determined face rode behind Sona's car hoping to find the reason behind his KHARGOSH'S new interest of roaming around in the streets of Delhi at late hours of night.

DEV'S POV

It's been half an hour since I have been following Sonakshi's car, but still none of her actions gave me the slightest clue about what she was up to. I could see that her driving skills were highly commendable, she had improved in her driving skills and surprisingly this created a little tinge of sadness in me. It was not that I did not like and acknowledge the fact that she had finally learned to drive a car but the fact that she was able to achieve many things in my absence really affected me. I was feeling guilty that I was unable to accompany her throughout her path of success. On the contrary, I was slowly failing in many things which I used to excel in before. I sadly realized that I was still stuck in my horrible past whereas Sonakshi seemed to be least bothered about the pain that nagged my heart and soul each second. Wise people say that there is a woman behind every successful and happy man. Sonakshi was and is the only key to my success and happiness. But her sudden exit from my life crushed me into pieces.

My sad and endless ocean of thoughts came to a halt when I started to realize that I was extremely familiar with the roads she was driving through. After sometime I realized that the roads that I was travelling through were that the same roads through which I had taken Sonakshi 7 years ago to propose her. Suddenly all those beautiful moments that we had shared rushed to my mind like a hurricane. Those memories still soothed and calmed my mind and heart even after 7 years. Maybe these memories were the only reason that my lungs was able to process the oxygen I inhaled, otherwise I would have been physically dead the moment Sona went away from me. Her face which exhibited blush and shyness when I said that her name and her face were extremely gorgeous- undoubtedly she was still the most gorgeous woman on this earth for me.All these memories brought a fresh set of tears from my eyes but the helmet I wore hided the tears that were slowly flooding my eyes.

After sometime her car stopped near my old rented house where I had confessed my love to her. My mind was filled with curiosity and suspicion as I did not have the slightest bit of idea as to what she was doing here. Then, after sometime she got out of her car and stood in front of the house possibly waiting for someone and I knew it would be the man she was recently intimidated with -Jatin. But then suddenly I could hear her calling out a name which boiled my blood in anger.

SONA: KHATRI!!!!!...KHATRI!!!!!...she shouted at the top of her lungs. YOU WANTED ME TO COME ALONE TO MEET YOU RIGHT.SEE, I HAVE COME ALL ALONE AND NOW YOU WILL HAVE TO COME INFRONT OF ME, she spoke determinedly. After some time Khatri came and stood right in front of her, but what surprised me the most was that she was not at all scared by the man standing in front of her.

KHATRI: I WAS SURE THAT YOU WILL COME.YOU MUST HAVE THOUGHT THAT I WAS HERE FOR A COMPORMISE BUT I HAVE SOME EVIL PLANS UP IN STORE FOR YOU.

(NOTE: DEV CANNOT HERE THE COVERSATION BETWEEN SONA AND KHATRI AS HE IS STANDING REALLY FAR AWAY FROM THEM BUT HE HEARD KHATRI'S NAME AS SHE WAS SCREAMING HIS NAME OUT)

I could see that Sona and Khatri were arguing over something but couldn't figure out what they were talking about but one thing I could understand is that something was wrong somewhere. I had never told Sona about this man then how come she knows him so well, I thought.

KHATRI: I HAVE ARRANGED A TREAT FOR YOU, DEAR AND ITS TIME FOR YOU TO ENJOY IT, he said with an evil grin.

Suddenly some men with dangerous and cruel eyes came behind Sona with big daggers and long knives which were strongly clasped in their masculine hands, possibly to stab her. Her face clearly depicted fear and anxiety but she remained calm and composed. It was like she was already ready for whatever that was unfolding in front of her, probably because she knew there was no way out. Then slowly those men started to take baby steps towards her and she continued to move back due to fear.

I was horrified by all the scenes that was happening in front of me and a sudden desire to save her from the clutches of those men crept in me. So what if she didn't care about me it was my responsibility to save her from all problems. I had miserably failed once in doing so and I didn't want to repeat the same fault again so I started running toward her. I could see that Sona was trying every possible way to protect herself but since those men were more in number they were able to overpower her and insert the dagger inside her abdominal cavity splashing her hot blood on my face and making her cry and scream in pain.

NARRATOR'S POV

SONA:AAAGHHH...she screamed as the daggers pierced her soft skin and she fell on the ground with a loud THUD.

DEV: Sonakshi... he called out to her frantically, his voice was mixed with fear, sadness and anxiety.

But before he could hold her in his arms, all those men came and stopped him from going towards her. She was bleeding very badly and seeing her condition Dev's heart was broken in to pieces. He was finding it difficult to breathe and he remembered that the last time he felt like this was when she met with an accident. But at that time she was just his employee but now she was the woman he loved immensely and the mother of his beautiful daughter.

He felt like killing Khatri with his hands but he was unable to do so as he could not free himself from the strong hold of those men as he was himself getting weak seeing Sona's condition.

Just then Khatri turned to Sona and spoke to her with his usual evil attitude.

KHATRI:YOU DID A GREAT MISTAKE BY BRINGING YOUR DEAR HUSBAND WITH YOU.BUT ITS FINE,I WILL KILL YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND SO THAT BOTH OF YOU CAN HAVE A SAFE AND BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY TOGETHER TO HEAVEN, FIRST I WILL KILL YOUR HUSBAND RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES AND THEN I WILL KILL YOU.

Those men tied his hands back and tightly held him so that he does not move. Dev knew that he was going to die but he was happy that he wouldn't have to live like a lifeless man from then on as Khatri was even planning to kill Sona and he couldn't do anything to save her. But he was sad thinking about his daughter Suhana. He knew that his home was not a safe place for his daughter. As Khatri took the gun from his pocket and proceeded towards him, he gave a final look at Sona, who even in her pathetic condition was slowly getting up from the ground proceeding towards him. As Khatri filled the rifle with bullets, he closed his eyes and reminisced about all the beautiful moments he and Sona had spent with each other.

And then Khatri shot the bullet-THUDDD...

The bullet shot was so loud that it was followed by a huge and unbearable silence. Dev was all the more perplexed as he had heard the bullet shot but he didn't feel any impact of the bullet on his body. Slowly as he opened his eyes he got the greatest shock of his life as he saw Sona standing in front of him. His worst fear came true when he saw that Sona lost her consciousness and collapsed on his chest. He couldn't believe that Sona had taken the bullet on her body to save him. He could see that she was heavily bleeding due to all the horrible impacts on her delicate skin.

Sensing the seriousness of the situation Khatri and his men ran away from there leaving Dev and Sona all alone.

Sona was lying on Dev's lap and he was crying his lungs out as he had no idea what to do now. He slowly took her face and started his conversation with her unconscious body.

DEV: SONA, WHAT IS ALL THIS. WHY DID YOU COME TO THIS PLACE ALL ALONE TO MEET THAT PERSON. WHAT IS THAT YOU ARE HIDING FROM ME. I VERY WELL KNOW THAT YOU ARE HIDING SOMETHING AND ITS NOT ABOUT JATIN, BECAUSE IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO THEN YOU WOULDN'T HAVE RISKED YOUR LIFE TO SAVE ME.

WHY DID YOU DO THIS SONA, WHY???????he screamed.

I CALLED YOU A BAD MOTHER AND QUESTIONED YOUR CHARACTER- WHY DID YOU DO ALL THIS FOR SUCH A PERSON.WHY ARE YOU SO PERFECT AND GOOD.

His sobbing was increasing with every passing minute and suddenly he realized that he had to take her to the hospital, so he stood up, picked up her in his arms, proceeded towards his car, kept her inside the car with utmost care and drove to the nearest hospital with a speed that could excel the speed of light.
