You know the drill. Here's the thread for today. If you refresh occasionally like you do for written update, you might be able to read as I update. I will start updating as the episode gets uploaded. You guys can continue your discussion. I will update as I go.

One of my favourite dialogues is from the movie Manjhi - The Mountain Man. He says, Don't wait for God to do something. Who knows? May be He is waiting for us to take the initiative?

When something goes wrong, we very conveniently turn against God/Fate/Luck etc. and start cursing them. But do we look at us and see what action of ours contributed to it?

If we keep repeating the same mistake over and over and refuse to learn from the past, then what can God/Fate/Luck do for us? We are the ones at fault.

Only a stupid person keeps on repeating the same mistakes over and over and expect a different outcome.

It's easier to claim that life has given us pain. Well, sure. Everyone goes through pain and suffering. But, instead of cursing our luck, do we look at us and see that hey, I am a healthy individual, standing on my own two feet, all my organs are in working order, even my brain keeps firing up when I ask it to.

So then what is stopping me to take charge of my life, my destiny?

What is stopping me to find my own happiness and define my own life?

If my happiness is tied to a person who is not treating me right, who is constantly inflicting pain on me and who is, in short, never been and never will be the person I can completely rely on, then well, shouldn't I stop being a pathetic hanger on and focus on one person who will guaranteed never let me down - MYSELF?

We keep telling women since the day they are born that don't be selfish. You will be happier if you make other people happy. Well, sure. You will be happy in other people's happiness. But if other people's happiness is your responsibility, then your happiness is whose responsibility? Who is responsible for making you happy?

And if no one is willing to take that responsibility, then what's wrong in taking that responsibility yourself?

It's not a crime to choose one's own happiness as long as it's not coming at the cost of another. It's not a crime to be content within your own skin and it's certainly isn't a crime for being the architect of one's own happiness.

The problem is that we never ever taught women to do any of the above.
And the funny thing is that we also teach them so little of self-worth and confidence, that it never occurs to them that they deserve better. Not because of their gender, but because they are human being.

May be we need to re-define the phrase, "Be a Man" which signifies to have self-respect to "Be a Woman". I don't think that phrase exists and even if it does, it certainly doesn't signify what "Be a Man" signifies.

EPISODE: The episode starts with Sonakshi calling Elena in panic mode. She asks if Dev is there. Elena says that he is playing with the kids. Sona asks her to stop him there. She is coming.

Elena asks him for the reason of her panic but she doesn't tell her.

Me: Itna hi jaldi thi, to kal tak muh mein pede daalke kyun baithi thi? Ek din mein tune kaun sa teer ukhad liya? Isi liye keh rahee thi ki muh kholo aur kuch to bolo. Lekin tab nehin bola. Kyunki warna Dev apni headache khud handle kar leta aur madamji ko Mahaanta nagri ki ticket nehin milti.

Bijoy sees Asha's laptop and decides to hack it so that he can read her book. He tries to hack the laptop, but all his guesses are wrong (Bijoy, AshaBijoy, Bijoy with his DOB) so he ends up locking it.

Dev hero style leaves home and Sonakshi arrives. She shouts after him and he left. So she starts whining on the street.

Me: Oh dear. I hate whining. Super annoying. Uske upar raaste pe public whining? I can't even... 😡

Sona whines: I have finally came to tell you the truth. But you are not listening to me. You can shout at me, but I won't tell you anything. But just once listen to me.

When she turns, she had an audience to her melodrama.

Nope. Not Dev. Woh to udan choo.

Khatri.

Me: Isi liye ghar ki baatein ghar mein rehni chahiye.

Khatri: I heard that you were searching for a house and you found it too.

Sona stammers: I...

Khatri shushes her: Listen to me carefully. If I don't reach Ishwari by today, then I will announce Ishwari's crime in front of the entire world. And that too with all the proof. You have 24 hours.

Sona is shocked.

Me: Not me. I was anticipating this from the day you went running after Khatri like rats behind Pied Piper. Now he has neatly trapped you into a hole thanks to your idiocy.

Isi liye kehte hain, jisko jo aata hain, usko wohi karna chahiye. Kahan tha ki Sherlock banne ki koshish mat karo. Lekin nehin. Madam ko to Mahaan banne ki bhoot chadi thi. Ab kya karogi? Dev tumse baat nehin kar raha hain. Ishwari ka beda tumne paar kar hi diya hain naale mein. Aur kya bacha hain, bewakuf ladki?

Sonakshi comes inside and calls her assistant, Paromita (haan Dev ki Paro. Jiska naam bhi khoobsurat hain aur woh bhi) and asks everyone in her office to leave their work and just track every person in Dev and Ishwari's life.

Paromita agrees. But she asks if this is business related.

Sona says this is personal and this is for her family.

Jatin takes Paromita's phone (Me: Humm... They look good together) and tells her that he is at office and they are all trying to track Dev.

Sona says thank you.

Me: Ok. Let's see here. I have a friend who is a hair stylist. I have helped her a lot. So if I tell her that I have done a lot for you. So since I have a brain tumour, you have to operate on it. Does it even make bloody sense, you duffer?

Why don't you hire a whole detective agency who specialises in surveillance instead of stopping your employees' work and asking them to track Dev and Ishwari? How will they do it? No really. Does Dev use your Nutrition app that they will track him using his daily walk quota? Idiot...

Sona is waiting for Dev in his room (night time). Lekin Dev aaya nehin.

Me: Khud hi saara raita phailake ab paper towel dhoondne se kya milega?

On the other hand, in the same town, Asha asks Bijoy to confess what he has done while afternoon sun is shining behind her and sprinkling through the curtain.

Me: Yep, Kuch Rang Editing Ke Aise Bhi.

Bijoy pretends innocence. Asha tells him that he has tried to unlock her laptop using wrong password.

Bijoy is still pretending. Asha tells him that she knows that no one else in this house can do this.

Bijoy confesses that he did it to read her book.

Asha says that doesn't he feel same? Just like he does everything backwards, had he typed his name backwards, the laptop would have opened.

Bijoy gets happy: What a brain you got. Now I can read your book.

Asha: You can't because I am changing the password.

Bijoy: Asha, that's cheating.

Asha leaves. He shouts: At least tell me the password.

Me: Serves you right, Bijoy. Who does this kind of moronic stuff? You really thought that she will change the password and then tell you? You wish.

Soha comes to Sona and asks her to eat with her. Sona says she is not hungry but asks her if she wants her to come downstairs and feed her.

Soha says that she can eat on her own. But did she talk to her father and know when he will come home?

Sona says that she doesn't know. But when she talks to him, she will let her know.

Soha gets upset.

Sona asks if she had something to tell her dad.

Soha doesn't want to say on phone. She asks if Sona could let her know when her dad comes home?

Sona agrees.

Me: I swear, this is when I feel like smacking Dev hard. So Soha is your priority and you have missed last 6 years of her life and can't miss a second more? Then where the eff are you, Dev? Why are you missing millions of seconds now? You got fed up of being a parent so soon?

She is your daughter for whom you fought with Sonakshi, Jatin, anyone who tried to spend any time with Soha. You kept whining that you have missed all these years which no one can repay and kept blaming Sona for it. Now your daughter is under your roof and you are nowhere.

So what difference does it make if your daughter stays in Sona's home? There are plenty of people to give her company and spend time with her? Why force her into the same neglectful upbringing which is unfortunately Golu is saddled with?

God, you are like that idiot boy who wants the toy someone else is playing with EVERY SINGLE TIME and then throws the toy in the corner of his room when no one wants it.

Soha tells her mother to eat with her father because by that time she will get hungry too and so would her father.

Sona asks why is she saying that?

Soha says there's no reason.

Me: Yes, there is. Soha is the mini matchmaker thanks to Golu's suggestion. Unfortunately, all the matchmakers never had any experience that Sona had and she doesn't have enough brain as any of the matchmakers to take her own decision using her own experience. Kuch Rang Incorrigibility ki Aise Bhi.

At Bose house, Bijoy brings tea for Asha. Asha asks why did he make? She could have made it.

Bijoy says that she knows today's day she won't be able to do anything. So he ordered food from outside. And he also tells her not to look at the wardrobe.

Bijoy tells Asha to not make it more difficult for her.

Asha says that she could not stay away. So she came to Sona's room. He know how Sona gets sad today. That's why she is there.

Bijoy tells her that she won't get sad. These things don't make her sad anymore. She is strong and independent.

Asha: You know that's not true. With times, colours fade. But memories become deeper. Sona might try to hide. But I know she still feels pain. I wish Sona was in front of us. At least I'd have been consoled

Bijoy: Asha, don't bother yourself. Sona is still with us, by us.

Me: Humm... Is today Dev and Sona's break up day or anniversary. Must be break up day, no? Because they never even celebrated one year anniversary. So anniversary ka to koi memory hoga nehin.

Lekin ek baat bolu? Jitna sad Sona nehin dikh rahee hain, usse jyada matam to Asha mana rahee hain. Jaise beti ki shaadi nehin, zindegi choot gayee hain.

Agar yeh aisi shakal leke baith jaati hain jahan yeh kuch nehin kar paati (according to Bijoy), to obviously, beti kaun sa khush rahegi? Parents itna guilt complex daalenge to beti thodi naa khush rahegi?

Anyhoo, Ronita comes there suddenly. She says that she is sorry to come there unannounced.

Asha says pleasantly: No worries. Do you need anything?

Ronita says: No, it was nothing important. I will come later.

She leaves.

Me: Mmm... Bose family makes me happy. Asha behaves with Ronita just like she behaves with Sona. Except, she also behaves with Dev like most Indians behave with Shahrukh Khan.

At Dixit house, Soha is making Golu to mix a batter of some kind.

She asks him to hurry or they will be late. Golu says that he won't work after this.

Soha asks why. He says that she didn't let him eat sugar with cream and she didn't tell him why they are baking the cake.

Mamaji comes there: Wow, my Raja beta is working...

Golu: I was working. Now I am resting.

Soha says: Golu please.

Golu: No. First you tell what's the special occassion. It's not my birthday, is it?

Soha: You stupid, you don't even remember your birthday?

Golu: Then your birthday?

Soha: No.

Golu: Today is not BigCha's birthday, neither Dada aur Dadi... Then is it ex BigChi's birthday?

Soha: No. Today is no one's birthday. You just hurry. I will tell you after you bake the cake.

Mamaji: But I will tell Golu right now why today is special.

Soha: No Cool Dadu. Otherwise, he won't work properly.

Mamaji: So he is not working properly even now anyway. Don't worry. I will help him.

Golu: I will bake cake by myself. But tell me what is the special day? Suhana is not telling me anything. Please Dadu tell me.

Mamaji smiles and Sona sees from outside.

Me: Then I think this is the anniversary. Warna break up day mein cake kaun banata hain? Soha and Golu are adorable by the way and Erica is looking super hot.

At Bose house, Bijoy tells Asha: We stopped talking when Ronita came, I hope she didn't feel bad.

Asha: May be she did. But what's the point in burdening her with tension? She just came in our house.

Bijoy: Call Sona. I want to talk to her.

Asha: Bijoy, not today. You know she stays quiet today and doesn't talk to anybody. We will call tomorrow. Can I get another cup of tea?

Bijoy: Yes, sure.

He goes to make another cup.

Me: What a vast difference again. Now think back the time when Ishwari and Mamaji were talking about Neha's situation. Ishwari said to Mamaji that Sonakshi is outsider. So let's not talk about Neha's situation to her. She might go home and tell her family.

Here again another sets of in-laws are talking about their daughter's problem. But they are more concerned about keeping their daughter-in-law happy by not unnecessarily burdening her with their daughter's problem, not because they consider her as an outsider, but because she just got married and there is nothing they can do about this situation anyway. However, they are also sensitive to the fact that she might feel bad about their not talking in front of her. I have no doubt that if she even remotely emotes her feelings, both Asha and Bijoy will assure her with love and tenderness immediately.

Asha goes to the wardrobe and takes out Sona's wedding saree and thinks about her wedding.

Me: Itni melodramatic to main bhi nehin hoti hoon apne anniversary ke din jitna Asha ho rahee hain aur woh bhi apni shaadi ke liye nehin. Aur meri anniversary to 5 baar aake ghoom gayee hain. Sona ki to ek bhi anniversary celebrate nehin hua. To kahe ka memory? Ek hi shaadi wala record kitni baar play karogi? Maine kahan tha naa, Asha ki ek hi objective. Beti should write married as marital status. The marriage might be a living hell. But the wedding matters more.

Anyhoo, Mamaji here is revealing the past. He says that he was very happy 8 years ago.

Me: Hain? 8? Soha to 6 years ki hain. Aur Sona ki to shaadi ek saal bhi nehin tiki. To 7 hogi naa?

Golu: So that's why we are making cake?

Mamaji tells him: First let me finish what I am saying. In today's date 8 years ago, your BigCha dressed up very nicely and he was very happy. And her mother was also looking like an angel. Just like my angel. She was also very happy.

Golu is upset: They got dressed up and went to a party. Why didn't they take me? (Me: Awww... Adorable)

Mamaji laughs: You two weren't even born then.

Golu: What was special that day?

Mamaji: They got married that day.

Soha smiles big.

Sonakshi hears everything from outside and feels sad.

Golu: Wow, really. So this cake is for them?

Mamaji smiles: Yes.

Me: Golu and Soha are as usual adorable. Sonakshi's pain was so visible in her eyes. And now I know why Golu doesn't ask Mamaji to tell a story. Because he sucks at it. Itna ghumaya ek anniversary ka news, ki interest hi khatam ho gaya climax ke intezaar mein. Mera to beech mein hi aisi haal ho gayee ki, Mamaji, ab bas karo. Cake main ainvayee bana leti hoon. Mereko aur reason ke intezaar mein baal safed nehin karna hain.

Sona leaves from there: That man is threatening our family, Dev. He is trying to make you stand against your mother. When I know that there is no one in the world above your mother for you. You have always worshipped her. I can't let it go to waste. And specially not today. 8 years ago today, I vowed to take all your problems on my head and we got connected and became Devakshi. And even today, I can't leave you alone in this problem.

Me: Achcha? To last 8 saal se (or 7 saal se, if the numbering is correct) aap kaun sa Dev ko problem se bachane daily hotline pe thi? Agar uski problem solve hi karna hain, to pehle to apni tarkeebein chalana bandh karo. Phir usko problem batao, taaki usse pata chale ki problem hain. Uske baad woh apni Maa ke baare mein kya sochega, woh uski problem hain. Waise pre-nup dikhne ke baad bhi agar woh wapas Mummy ke aanchal tale wapas aa gaya, toh yahan bhi good intention ka handy excuse hain naa. To kya difference hoga? Ishwari bolegi, "Beta, maine yeh sab tere liye kiya." aur Dev bolega, "Maa, meri maa. Aa gale lag jaa. Sirf tu hi woh mahaan maata hain jo kisi aur ki zindegi barbad karke sochti hain ki tere khud ke bachhe abad rahenge. Tera charan kidhar hain?"

The End. Sorry. The Beginning.

Anyhoo, Sonakshi gets a call and without checking anything assumes Dev is calling. But it's Khatri. He tells her that she must be getting scared. She must be because time is running out. How will she save Dev and Ishwari? And whatever will happen after, only she will be responsible for this.

Sona stammers: You will do nothing of that sort. You want to meet Ishwari, right? I will make her meet you.

Khatri: Enough. I know that Ishwari is no where around you. In fact, she is not even in the town. You have played enough game. Now it's time to end this game. I will tell Dev, Ishwari's truth.

Sona: No. You won't tell Dev anything. You won't even be able to reach him.

Khatri: Why won't I be able to reach him? I know that you don't know where he is. But Khatri knows where he is at all times.

He laughs an evil laugh and hangs the phone. Sona is tensed.

Me: Yep. I agree, Khatri uncle. That's why they say that be careful before you touch hornet's nest. Once they are disturbed, then they can't be controlled. Aur Dixit family ka to past, present aur future - har ek tense sirf tension se bhari hain. Yeh log family kam aur Mafia Gang jyada lagte hain mereko.

Aur Sona, mil gaya detective giri ka result? Maine kahan tha naa, ki har insaan ko wohi khel khelna chahiye jiski baazi haarne ki himmat ho aur baazi jitne ki aukat.

Tum mein naa baazi haarne ki himmat hain aur naa hi jitne ki aukat. Aur chali thi saanp ke bil mein pair daalne.

Isi liye kahan tha ki mind your business. Unke life mein interfere mat karo. Ab dekha?

Ishwari ko Khatri kya bolta yeh to pata nehin. Lekin agar us ne bhanda phod diya aur Dev aur Ishwari ko yeh pata chala ki tumhari interference ki wajah se Khatri ne aisa kiya, to tumko pata hain naa ki woh log kya sochenge? Woh log sochenge ki tumne badla lene ke liye Khatri ko jaan bujhke bharkaya aur isi liye Dev ko bhi kuch nehin bataya. As I said, bewakuf aurat.

Sona is about to leave when Soha asks where is she going. She doesn't want her to go. Sona says that she has to go for now. But she promises to come back soon.

Soha asks her why is she going? She is here alone and her father is not around either.

Me: Oh poor baby. You thought that if your parents come together then you would get twice their attention. Now look honey what you are getting. Forget twice, even their individual attention has gone missing. On top of that you are in a strange house with people you just met and both your parents keep coming and going because one can't stop meddling in the other's life and they don't want to be around each other so they are not around you either.

That's why I had said that two people who are utterly incompatible should not be together because they don't do good for anyone, not even to the people they got back together for.

Sona looks at Golu: Golu is there naa. Play with him and your dad and I will be back shortly.

Soha asks: Where is Papa?

Sona thinks about what Dev said before leaving. She responds: I don't know where is your Papa. I will bring him back.

Soha: But why didn't Papa tell us where he is going and why don't you know where is Papa?

Me: Good question. Iska jawab to darling, aap Papa se hi puchna ki Papa, aap Bijoy jaisa Papa banna chahte the? Lekin aap to chaudvi ke chaand ki tarah kabhi kabhi nazar aate ho. Phone karne pe bhi aap milte nehin. To kya emergency mein, musibat ko bole ki ruk jao. Mere Papa ki sulking period chal rahee hain. Baad mein aana, haan?

Golu: Suhana, ex BigChi is hiding his secret from us, naa? When BigCha gets upset, he goes to his secret place. May be he went there.

Soha asks Sona: Mamma, you remember all Papa's secret place naa?

Sona thinks. She says that she will bring Soha's Papa and Golu's BigCha back.

Me: Nehin bachha. Pichle 8 saal mein aapki Papa ne kya kya secret bana ke rakhha hain woh aapki Maa ko kaise pata chalega?

Sona thinks about the proposal when Dev claimed that he loves her like a man loves a woman (*snort*) and smiles because she thinks she figured out where Dev might be.

When she comes out, raat se din ho gaya phir se, literally aur figuratively kyunki Jatin Bhaiya was there.

Jatin tells her that he could not find Dev anywhere.

Sona says that let it go. She knows where he is.

Jatin asks how does she know?

Sona says that he didn't go anywhere randomly. He went the places which matter to him. And he has reason to go there.

Jatin: What does it mean?

Sona: There are something that must stay between him and me. I know that we are best friends. But Dev and my relationship...

Jatin: Sona, you don't need to give any explanation. You just tell me where to go and I will take you.

Me: What an unconditional friendship... No questions asked, no explanation needed. It's enough that she needs his help and he is there. No ego, no jealousy, no tantrums. Sonakshi can't see it and she doesn't care. But these kind of relationships are rare which is as comfortable as a warm blanket in winter night and these kind of people are rare who can give selflessly without making demands. But like I said, some people are so stupid that they learn nothing regardless how many times they get kicked on their faces.

Radha drags Vicky out and asks him to follow them. He refuses. So Radha goes in and asks PK to call the driver. But driver is not available. So she takes a cab. But the cab breaks down. So she misses Sona.

Me: Boring... Radha is plain annoying.

Sonakshi traces Dev's proposal starting from the hospital where he was born.

Me: Yeh Gods. Duffer ke sau rang, I swear. Ek baat batao behena. Agar woh sad bhi hoga, to us hospital mein kyun jayega jahan pe woh paida hua tha? Hospital koi ghoomne ki jagah hain? Aapko aisa nehin lagta ki kyunki uske unhappiness ka source aap hain to aapko woh proposal wala scene backwards trace karna chahiye tha? Kitna time bach jaata nehin? Lekin aap ko kaun sa sense hain? Aur main expect hi kyun kar rahee hoon? Nehin ji. Apne day job naa chodna nehin. Warna poori family sadak pe aa jayegi agar detective giri ka career aapne choose kiya to.

Then Sona goes the school Dev went. The watchman asks them what is she doing there. Sona asks if someone hero type came there. Watchman says no.

Me: Again, school mein Dev ki happy memory hain. To woh school bhi kyun aayega gadhi. Itni raat ko waise bhi kaun sa school khula hota hain? That is if it's a real night and not one of those pal mein din, pal mein raat jaisa dhoka types scene.

Next they go to the kiraye ka ghar in front of which Dev made his lofty claims and proposed to Sona.

Me: Bingo. Now if you had only traced backwards, no? Kitna time bach jaata aapka bhi aur hamara bhi. May be we could have had some Saurabh and Ronita's scene to get over your stupidity.

PRECAP: Sona sees Dev's bike in front of the rental place. She thinks that if Dev's bike is here, he must be too.

She sees Khatri ringing the doorbell to the rental place and gets worried.

Me: Now think that if you had any detective skills and had traced the way backwards (because obviously hospital and school were safe to eliminate), then you'd have reached here before Khatri. But then, for that you need a three skills which every detective needs which is 1. Observation, 2. Ability to read behaviour pattern and identify motive and based on the first two, 3. Deduction. You lack all three.

im extremely sorry to disagree, but these days males are becoming crushed between two most knowledgeable people on the planet, mom n wife. he is compelled to do things as per wifes wish n mothers direction.
im not talking abt mil dil fight. this is the plight of husband.
sorry i dint mean to hurt any ladies bcos i know that ultimately wat mom or wife says is gud for family. but wat abt mans freedom.

She doesn't have to. But she does anyway. Sorry, but if we don't fight for our right, then who will hand it to us in a golden platter?

Krish, you raised a good point. But have you also thought why men are getting crushed between their mother and wife? There is a most obvious reason for it. It's because they insist to live with their family and their wife.

Women never complain about getting crushed between their father and husband. Why is that? Because these two very important man never live together.

Sorry, when men want extra privilege, who should pay for that?

When a man wants his mother and wife to get along so that he doesn't have to be crushed between the two, it's their responsibility to draw a boundary between relationships so that either of the relationship doesn't encroach in each other's space.

Dev didn't do that. The women leave their family for the man, where is their sacrifice? What do they do to make sure that her sacrifice is worth it. She chose the man just like the man chose her. Then why is all the work and adjustment on her part?

If a man wants freedom, it's very simple. Start the marriage on equal grounds. She is leaving her family for the man, he can also do the same. Just because they are not living with their family, doesn't mean they can't take care of their family. Women had been taking care of their families despite not living with them after marriage. I am sure men are capable of doing the same. After all parents raise both son and daughter with equal love, care and opportunities. So the expectations must also be the same. Yes?

but males dont have to get crushed. lot of males know how to balance the two relationships.just like many women can take care of everyone's need without choosing one or the other. peoblem with Dev is he never grew up and hence cant make right choices in personal matters. men like dev have all the freedom, they just dont know whats right and how to stand up for it.

Agree. Agree.
Lovely post. One of my fav topics. Actually there can be other way out too...when husband-wife marry wither they stay with both parents or none. That way when a boy is born,no one will celebrate thinking its their LIC for old age.

I really liked CVs idea of showing DevD staying at the Bose house for a change. Its quite progressive, in a way.

Sona talks to herself abt her prev mariage vows--- filler and bakwas dialogues...understandably they need to drag till wednesday for the story to progress. 😆...to kuch bhi bolne de diya Sona ko.

She remembers her past with Dev and goes to search Dev in the so-called secret places he could be sulking at😆...I'm so reminded of my kid and me playing hide-and-seek , trying to think which one is his fav hiding place😆

Sonakshi actually uttered the word "Devakshi" today...so I guess reunion is coming soon.

Supriyaji probably left the show. So, we are yet to see Ishwari.

So, story to bhai Wednesday ko hi aage badhegi😆...ya phir kal towards the end if they r able to shoot enough scenes. Till then I'm happy rejoicing how pretty Erica looks...and how horribly that dress fits on her...though finally a new colour dress.
