From all that i read here and after thinking and rethinking i feel CVs are trying to show that Dev's character has undergone a tremendous change from S1 as a result of his failed marriage. He is still at a stage where he blames his condition on the 2 important women in his life. In S1 Dev was shown to have tremendous respect for women. He always declared Sona to be the best. He worshipped his mom. But after the pain these two caused him his respect for women went down the drain. He started treating women as objects and disrespected them till Suhaana came into his life. He started getting back some of the S1 traits but the anger and pain of 7 years started coming out. When he sort of tried to regain himself he saw that Sonakshi was moving on and didn't need him in his life. This again triggered his anger against her and his character dropped down to a real low where he could talk like a complete jerk.

Regarding Khatri and his secret I have a different angle. What if someone tried to molest her and she used her knife to harm them. The harm caused might have been greater like attempt to murder where the person survived but has to deal with the after effects his whole life. Khatri saw the whole thing.

Another reason maybe theft by Ishwari. She might have stolen the money needed to pay the rent and Khatri knows this. He might be blackmailing saying that he will reveal the truth of theft to Dev and police.

For Ishwari in both the above scenarios, it would mean public humiliation. I mean sometimes cases are not closed even after 20 - 30 years. There might be a possibility of police still searching for clues or the culprit in either of the cases. Something like this coming out means a lot of hurt for Dev. Ex if Ishwari is arrested for theft or for anything, then it is "Dev Dixit, the billionaires mom" who gets arrested. Either way this would be something that Ishwari would want to avoid at all close and not let anyone know about it.
