As mods:

Since it seems you are posting on our thread for the first time, we would like to remind you to read the rules on the first page of this thread. We accept all views and try to foster a positive environment for discussion, which is why we have those rules. @bold in particular goes against the rules of this thread, as you are using blanket, negative statements for characters, instead of providing an analysis of their behaviour. Please be careful in the future as it is the collective responsibility of all who participate to make sure this thread retains its positive flavour.

@All: In that same vein, let's avoid using this thread as a space to mock the show/CVs. If there is some aspect of the story you don't like, please feel free to express that in a constructive manner, with examples. Don't just say the CVs have lost it, or the show is crap. It's a real mood killer for those of us who are on this thread to do what its title says... analysis.

Thanks,
Sam and DQ

I am seeing a lot of friction in this thread. As a participant, I think this thread is mainly for analyzing the show and its characters rather then forming opinions about a character or episode. Analyzing doesn't justify the actions of the characters. Analyzing just provides with a cause and reason. Whatever the cause or reason be for an action or reaction, that doesn't justify the end means. I think remembering the purpose of analyses would be helpful for everyone in order to view the show with critical eye.

In this entire week, I am seeing a lack of proper execution in the episodes despite the script having much more gravity then it did in Season One. The parallels and intensity of characters brings a range of nuances the show lacked in showing every color of love in season one. I am not sure weather the show is lacking in having a bank of episodes or such, but proper editing is critical to keep the laymen viewers hooked.

As for bitterness and anger coming from Dev and Sona, I think they both are entitled to there feelings no matter how irrational they may seem. There complaints have been suppressed for SEVEN years and there interactions in there most raw forms have been limited. How they both will be balancing there emotions in order to get through to Soha, is something that is going to be worth watching.

I am seeing a lot of people sensing calm before the storm in current episodes. I feel it too but I am sincerely hopping that the storm is Ishwari Niwas. I want to see Soha and Dev being aware of the taunts Sonakshi went through in first stay at the house and the beginning of Tripathis' downfall.

I was just trying to express my view about the story getting stagnant particularly in relation to the latest spoilers.

I am neither asking anyone not to like it nor am posing questions as to how you can like it? I just stated my opinion. No one needs to agree to it

But if my views were offensive or hurtful, I shall abstain from posting in future

Payal my comment wasn't directed at you or other people who are putting their POV and showing displeasure about the current story line. I have copy pasted that particular part of my comment from another post (n mentioned it too), where people were monopoly of thoughts was present. It might have turned out as I am generalising the situation, but I am not. Yes you didn't asked anyone to dislike the show as you are not enjoying. N as i said i didn't directed it u. Please be free to comment and share your views in future, bcz they are put up in a dignified manner.

@sam DQ please let me know if my comment is against the rules, i will surely edit it. :) Thank you.

@Cscs sorry for misunderstanding you. I don't read 99% of the outside threads so wasn't aware.

Please let me explain the reason for my contention. Bijoy was earlier always shown headstrong and short tempered but was he ever shown cruel? Sona was shown strong post leap but was she ever shown unfair? Dev was perceptive and smart in beginning of season two but suddenly seems to be going back to his season one avatar. If this is not due to trying to stretch the story then what is? Why is the soul of the show being murdered for the sake of 200 extra episodes?

The show was supposed to have genuine characters which have their shortcomings. But the characters all seem to be becoming single dimensional. The trend had been going on for sometime and yesterday was the extreme of it.

As to future story, Bijoy's stress level has been increasing rapidly ever since Dev came to stay at Bose house. Since then it has only elevated. Vickky's instigation has also added more fuel especially combined with his family respecting Dev when he has proved to them how wrong he is(the theft and that he i is trying to ruin their happiness). He has started to feel that Dev is trying to take his family away from him and they wouldn't consider him wort anything(very similar to Ishwari's insecurities 😆 😛 ).

If Ishwari in her stress overdosed of sleeping pills, Bijoy is on his way to some other stress related issue which most probably will land him in hospital. My guess is this is what will trigger serious talks regarding Sonakshi and Jatins wedding and even Soha accepting it.

The future story as I have outlined is just my guesswork. It may happen this way or it may not. 😊 . What we are seeing of Sonakshi and Bijoy is a trailer for what is to come. 😃

Honestly I don't want this angel because we have seen this in s1 so I want the don't Want it now I want to see something positive. Dev and sona learning from there past mistakes. I am not in the favor of this.

As Sam mentioned this anger festering in her is looking for an outlet. But due to Asha's counseling, she is trying to not only put a lid on it, but attempting to make Dev jealous so that the onus of starting a fight falls on him. When she told about the time when Jatin was with her, SM wanted Dev to know her struggles and how she missed SD, but BD wanted to give Dev a reason for jealousy. To show him what he missed by not being with her, by rejecting her(this is her perspective. Not intended to hurt anyone)

Thanks so much for pointing this out, Shaavi! It's one of those observations that snaps the whole episode into place for me. Sona was itching for a fight, but was unwilling to take responsibility for starting one, because she is really eager to regain that respect that she has lost in Asha's eyes. That is why she jumped at the chance to instigate Dev, using her defense of Jatin's place in Soha's life. However, as you and DQ both pointed out, Dev refused to give her the reaction she was looking for and later, Jatin stopped her from fighting on his behalf.

When Sona feels insecure about herself, she deals with it by re-arranging her alliances and repositioning herself so that she doesn't have to introspect. I have said in the past that she has a tendency to narrativise her life, so when the narrative doesn't go as planned, she changes the roles and characters while keeping herself the central protagonist. When it was her and Dev's love story, he was her Prince Charming, but after the divorce, he became the villain who, along with his family had oppressed hers. She worked against his accusations and let them define her struggle. Her story became one of a lone woman and single mother, fighting for her family against all odds. The Boses and Jatin all played their parts in validating this heroic vision of herself.

But now, the people she depended on are refusing to validate the roles she casts herself in. Asha showed her how she was wrong, and refused to validate her role as the strong, unquestioned decision-maker of the family. Jatin refused to play the slighted friend in need, and therefore did not validate her as his righteous defender, and Dev didn't rise to her bait and argue directly with her about Jatin, thereby refusing to play the hard-nosed oppressor against whom she was the brave underdog. Even with Bijoy, it's only a matter of time before he finds out that she was complicit in hiding the Mrs. Mandal incident from him -- even he won't be able to validate her as his principled daughter who never strays from the truth. All of these people love Sona very much, but they are no longer willing to keep her on the pedestal she is used to. Each one, in their own way, is recognising how much harm that did her. She took the responsibility so seriously, that in a lot of ways, she became the pedestal and lost herself. 😭

I also think it's important to look at the bigger picture. Yes, Sona said some spiteful things to Dev in anger yesterday, and aggrandised Jatin's role in Soha's life. But that doesn't negate the fact that for the past six years, she has deliberately kept the role of Soha's father sacred to Dev. Who do you think insisted on the clarification that Jatin wasn't Soha's father when they won the race together? It probably wasn't Bijoy or Jatin, both of whom would have been thrilled to make that a reality. Even if Sona didn't want to marry Jatin, she could have entered into a platonic co-parenting arrangement with him to give Soha *a* father's love, but she has always been very clear that Soha should get *her* father's love, and very clear on who exactly that father is. It's to her credit, for setting the boundaries so clearly, that Jatin respects them today, when she is faltering.

Loving every bit of Dev's stay in Bose house
Thanks to Soha for this condition to live with both parents together
Thanks to Sona for this beautiful suggestion
Thanks to Dev for accepting this wonderful challenge of being X-Jamai
Thanks to Asha n Jatin for being with Dev n supporting all of this for Soha n wanting to unite Devakshi

Regarding Saurabh, he has always been sweet but weak - hence can't expect him to be noticeably angry or warm.. but see how nice he is too.. even after Dev giving weirdest excuse on the jewellery stint he is civil with Dev .. that's his nature.. he gets confused n in his emotional peak he overeat
Ronita is there to balance him like how Asha is for Bejoy

Bejoy's basic nature is being loud- recall how he used to get angry on Saurabh business instead of seeing the positive side that he is earning well n is getting successful. But to sober him down we need to. E patient n truthful ... basically Truthful...

In Dev's case Bejoy is fully justified for being angry. Dev did umpteen promises but couldn't protect his doll. Princess Sona n hurt her so badly n them all.. so how can he trust him again ? Soha is too little to be hurt..

What I love about Bejoy is - he has the same feel towards all - even Elena - he Doesn't show a double face image - like the Dixits

Dev is also Honest but he doesn't safeguard or uphold his promises when it comes to his family.
So it's necessary for this bitterness to flow away..

I love every bit from the time Dev has stepped in- there is growth in everyone.
I feel dadi also should be given some good portion where she speaks to dev n Sona about real life as she is also a widow like Ishwari n has a son
