Yes vicky was looking dapper but his predator eyes gives me chills. A big no no for me. Instead am all beady eyed for jatin with his sorted behaviour until dev sheds his shabby avatar. ( Am secretly dreaming for a shirtless jatin... hope my dreams come true). Jatin's smirk whn dev introduces him to elena as sona's friend ensured my barbaadi

Chits and Meher, Didn't Vickky once say he looked like Dev to Sonakshi. I think it was in that IN family picture episode. CVs are trying to make their dialogues from season 1 true šŸ˜†

Please let me explain the reason for my contention. Bijoy was earlier always shown headstrong and short tempered but was he ever shown cruel? Sona was shown strong post leap but was she ever shown unfair? Dev was perceptive and smart in beginning of season two but suddenly seems to be going back to his season one avatar. If this is not due to trying to stretch the story then what is? Why is the soul of the show being murdered for the sake of 200 extra episodes?

The show was supposed to have genuine characters which have their shortcomings. But the characters all seem to be becoming single dimensional. The trend had been going on for sometime and yesterday was the extreme of it.

On the contrary, I think the characters are being fleshed out very well, and consistent to what we have seen so far.

1. Bijoy always had a cruel streak, which was visible in his behaviour towards Saurabh.

2. Sona was unfair from day one of the leap. She knew that Dev had no idea about his daughter but chose keep postponing the revelation, and now blames Dev for missing those years of Soha's life. I can empathise with the reasons behind this, but it remains unfair.

3. Dev still is perceptive and smart. That's how he caught Mrs. Mandal; he just chooses not to use that intelligence too rigorously against his "apne," which is also why he didn't immediately reveal what Mrs. Mandal had done in front of everyone. He observes a lot in his family and with the Boses; he is just careful about what he chooses to say and to whom.

The complexity in the characters is precisely what makes their behaviour seem contradictory. This is not a show, especially in s2, that you can watch mindlessly; it really requires you to think about why the characters are doing what they are doing. But I find if I do put in that effort, with much help from you lovely writers and thinkers here, the show reveals unanticipated layers of thoughtfulness.

I am not trying to convince you to change your mind, just putting a different view out there for consideration, as I am genuinely enjoying the way the story is unfolding.

I do agree however (as area_blossom mentioned), that the last few episodes have been a bit choppy. I hope they pull up their socks in the editing department!

I also think it's important to look at the bigger picture. Yes, Sona said some spiteful things to Dev in anger yesterday, and aggrandised Jatin's role in Soha's life. But that doesn't negate the fact that for the past six years, she has deliberately kept the role of Soha's father sacred to Dev. Who do you think insisted on the clarification that Jatin wasn't Soha's father when they won the race together? It probably wasn't Bijoy or Jatin, both of whom would have been thrilled to make that a reality. Even if Sona didn't want to marry Jatin, she could have entered into a platonic co-parenting arrangement with him to give Soha *a* father's love, but she has always been very clear that Soha should get *her* father's love, and very clear on who exactly that father is. It's to her credit, for setting the boundaries so clearly, that Jatin respects them today, when she is faltering

^^ Very smart point and true too..Sonakshi maintaned the difference of father AND fathe figure..She never gave any false hope to Doha or Jatin..She was pretty clear about the fact that..The one who deserves this position or rightfully owns it should get it ie Dev..So I completely appreciate Sonakshi for that..Also I dont think she is faltering it now..atleast not in yesterday's epi

But also I am contradicting my words In epi 264 Sona said "main chahti hoon ki Soha jane fathr ka pyar kya hota hai and agar woh pyar Dev se milta hai toh I don't have a problem" ..So If she wanted Soha to receive just "fathr's love" then she could have taken Jatin's help for that why she reserved that place for Dev only..Also Jatin was like fathr figure to Soha so it wiuld gave been so comfortable for Soha..She would have easily accepted Jatin

Uhh I hope I am able to convey what I intend to

She confuses me by showing how important Dev is and also shows as if she is doing favour on him by letting him close to Soha

Sam, Bijoy is a horrible parent but I always felt that it was due to his misguided notion that he was doing it for saurabh's welfare. But now I feel as if he has started taking a sadistic pleasure in what he is doing. I know using very strong words is not allowed but Ishwari is somehow seeming better than him.

I know he feels that his family has been wronged tremendously but that doesn't change who you are. Your basic sense of decency remains and there is a line you will never cross. Bijoy seems to be crossing that line and enjoying doing it which to me seems quite disturbing.

Coming to Sona, she was scared of losing her child. This feeling I can understand better than you, as I have actually been in that position. So prevarication was normal. Rest everywhere she was acting fair. But now, as you said, she has started blaming Dev for anything and everything under the sun. Didn't even show the decency of saying a sorry after the jewellery case. She is acting shrewish.

Dev was shining and being perceptive till he went back to meri maa jaap. If you are able to judge the wrongs done by the entire universe, how about your own family? And if you want to forgive or ignore them, at least don't blame others for them.

Hello guys.I had a random thought going on in my head for quite some time. Please don't bash me for this comment.
I have always believed that considering Sona to be a case of severe oppression is one of the worst ways to judge Kuch Rang. The story was never written in that fashion.
A lot of anti-Dev sentiments arise due to the fact that we believe Sona and the Boses were rendered homeless and penniless at the end of S1.But is this fact valid ? Consider the situation.Sona and Saurabh started an online nutrition portal and Dev invested a freaking 5 cr rupees into that venture.Out of that Saurabh utilised 3.5 cr for the business. Therefore you have the base ready for a good startup with a large influx of 3.5 cr which is huge.Sona then mortaged her house and went to IN to return a cheque of 4.5 cr.Out of this 1.5 cr was the leftover money from Dev's investment and 3 cr came after mortaging the house. If we recollect properly neither Dev nor Ish accepted the cheque. Now obviously the bank won't encash the money itself, isn't it ? This implies that the cheque was never encashed. So there was a startup worth 3.5cr and a sum of 4.5 cr in the bank account of one of the Boses. That makes it a cummulative net worth of 8 cr.My question is-Is this amount not enough to successfully negotiate the financial crisis which the Boses faced, they would never have found a problem of residence atleast.
Could it be possible that the 5cr track was introduced not just to trigger the separation but to also provide the healing touch to the Boses after the separation.
We often wonder why Dev never stalked the Boses ? We also wonder why the CV's don't talk about the eviction. Is it possible that Dev did not stalk the Boses thinking that they were completely secure financially and did not need him ? The fact is that however angry Dev might be,he will never leave a family if they are penniless,he won't do that to even his worst enemy forget leaving the family of his lady-love in that crisis.
Is this the reason why Asha,Saurabh and Dida are not ruthless with Dev ? A lot of people do ask aa to how the Boses can be so cordial with a man who 'supposedly' made them penniless ? The fact is that they were quite secure financially.

P.S-Please don't take this as an insensitive comment to Sona or the Boses.Losing your home like the Boses did is really sad. Also I have no intention of undermining Sona's achievements. She has risen like a Phoenix. All I want to say is that the Boses definitely needed emotional support but their financial condition was pretty sorted.

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting on this forum/thread. Have been been following this thread since the beginning on season 2. Started watching this show only around Dev-Sona wedding and I think the makers a doing a great job. Our leads are flawed but trying be in their shoes always make it easy to understand their characters better.

Along with watching the show, I love coming to this thread where I see members analyse characters without being biased.

"3. Bashing the characters, or pitting them against one another. If you think either the Dixits or the Boses are entirely right, and the other entirely to blame, this is not the thread for you."

What I posted above is among the thread rules on the first page which I think is why this thread has been unique and different from the forum as there we see members think Dev is always right and so goes to Sona too. I prefer reading thought here where people here see them both as flawed and try to uanalyse them but for the past few days even this place is giving a bad taste in some ways. Sorry of I hurt anyone but it's just what I feel.

And hello Sam, hope u remember me..ex DCian here.😃 You are one of the reasons why I started watching this show as u mention it in our old DC and have been stalking your posts and landed on this forum. Thanks to you and DQ for this thread and all the amazing writers here. And @Geena I always used to look forward to your views and I hope to see u around soon. 😃
