The next few weeks went off on similar lines. Dev and Sona met at the apartment whenever they could. They spoke, they discussed work, they argued and they laughed and sometimes they made passionate love for hours. But two things they never spoke about was the deep love they had for each other and the other was their future. Every weekend they went to different places with Soha and sometimes either Ishwari came with them and sometimes Bijoy and Asha came with them and to any outsider they seemed to be a normal happy family. But slowly both Sona and Dev realised that they wanted much more from this relationship but did not want to impose their wishes on the other. Their lovemaking became more passionate if that was possible and they found it harder to let go off each other later. One day, Dev found Sona awake when he woke up. She was just looking at him. He smiled at her and asked her "Hi. What were you looking at Am I that good looking? and smirked. Sona did not react at first and then said "I was memorising your face. Do you even realise how peaceful you look when you sleep? Dev pulled her to himself and said "That's only when you are next to me otherwise I can't sleep properly. Something upset Sona about that statement and she said "Let me change Dev I need to get home before Soha comes back from her art classes.

A few days later, when Dev came home from work, Ishwari was waiting for him. "What happened Maa why are you waiting? Do you need something Ishwari cleared her throat and said "I made a mistake seven years back and separated you and Sonakshi. I cursed her and was insecure. Now I realise how wrong I was and what a wonderful girl she is. She is the kind who will always keep the family together. I also know that you still love her a lot. I have seen the way you look at each other. Why don't you marry her again? Dev was stunned and he replied "I love her maa ... more than my life. But how can I ask her to marry me. What have I done for her? I am happy that she lets me be around her sometimes. I think I would always be Soha's father only for her Saying these words he climbed up slowly and went to his room. But he couldn't get his mind off her words.

The next few days were tough as he kept thinking on whether he should speak to Sona. Then one day Jatin and Bijoy came to meet him at work. They came into his room and sat down. Dev was a little surprised to see Sona's close friend and her father in front of him. Jatin took a sip of the tea that Dev offered them and putting the cup down he said "You must be surprised to see us here isn't it. Well ... I am not so good at these things... He looked at Bijoy. Bijoy cleared his throat and said "Dev I know a lot of things have happened between you and Sona and your family and ours. I admit there was problem from both the sides. But considering that seven years have gone by and now all the misunderstanding has been cleared. You both also have Soha to consider. Why don't you and Sona get married? Even a blind person can guess that you are madly in love. Dev was surprised to say the least. He said "Baba that is definitely what I want. But I am not sure about Sona. I have wronged her much more than what she has done to me. That's why I don't want to pressurise her into making a decision. I want her to decide first. I hope you understand. Bijoy nodded and said "I understand where you are coming from. Shall I speak to her? Dev said "No Baba let her take her time. I will wait for her

After Dev's conversation with his mother and subsequently with Bijoy, Dev was seriously thinking of speaking to Sona, when he received a text from her two days later. She had not come to office for the last week as she was first on an offsite and then she was working on something from home. Even when he went to meet Soha a few days back, she was not at home. Her text message read "Hi. Can you meet me at the apartment now? Dev was a little surprised. He felt it must be urgent and picking up his bike keys from the table he rushed out at the same time texting her that he would be there. He kept wondering what would be so urgent. He was not having a good feeling about this whole thing. He reached the building, parked his bike and went straight up. As he opened the door, he found Sona already there, standing quietly by the window. When he walked in he gave her a hug from behind and said "I missed you... do you know its been more than a week since we met last. Turn around and let me look at you properly. He turned her around and looked at her carefully. She looked a little tired and there were dark circles under her eyes.

"What happened Sona why are you looking so upset Dev asked her. Sona looked at him and silently handed him an envelope and when he opened the envelope, the key to the apartment fell out. Dev picked up the key from the floor and asked her "What is this Sona? What should I make of this gesture? Sona sat down on the sofa and started crying. Dev went of his knees and held her hands and wiping the tears off her cheeks he said gently "Tell me na... my heart is sinking. I will solve everything.

Sona looked at him and said softly "Dev I cannot continue this relationship any more. I know we had decided not to get emotionally involved this time but I am unable to keep up my part of the deal. I am falling in love with you all over again. I don't want you to pity me and say that you feel the same way. But I cannot also pretend any more. Hence I need to set you free. She cried and did not even look up. Dev did not know how to react and how to comfort her. Damn it her tears were driving him crazy. He smiled... his Sona inspite of all her tough exterior was a real softie. They wanted the same thing and she was crying. He smiled to himself, picked up a glass of water from the dining table and asked her to drink it first. He then wiped her tears and said "You know what Sona you are really a cute kharghosh after all these years!

He held her face between his hands and rested his head against hers and said "Because I love you so much and there is nothing more that I want than to spend the rest of my life with you and Soha. I was actually too scared to ask you this question because I did not want to lose my best friend... again Sona looked surprised and said "You are saying all this just to make me feel happy. Dev said "No baba in fact my maa and your parents and Jatin also know about it. We were all waiting for you to make up your mind. Sona could not think of a single thing to reply.

She hugged him tight and said "You will never let me go again isn't it Dev? If you do I will not be able to live this time.

Dev said "Don't be silly I am not going anywhere leaving you and Soha. Dev then disentangled himself from her arms and moved aside and made a couple of quick calls. Sona did not pay attention to the hushed conversation. Within the next twenty minutes, the door bell rang and Sona looked at Dev questioningly and asked "Who is it here? Dev shrugged and said "Can you just see?Sona opened the door and was surprised to find Ishwari outside with Mamaji. IShwari looked at her very sternly and said "Yeh kya hai Sonakshi yeh sab kya hai? Mujhe tumse yeh ummid nahin thi! Sona looked at Dev surprised and Dev looked away and then Ishwari smiled and said "Main toh mazak kar rahi thi Sona. Main to bahut khush hoon and bahut dinon se main aaj ka intezaar kar rahi thi. Sona smiled and as bent to touch Ishwari's feet, Ishwari stopped her and hugged her and said "Beti ki jagah maa he dil mein hoti hai pairon mein nahin! and hugged Sona.

The door bell rang again and the entire Bose family walked in and as Sona and Dev went forward to meet them, Asha said "Finally my two children made up their minds. I cant tell you how happy I am for both of you. Bijoy was quiet and sat down on one of the sofas and said "OK I want to say something. This time the wedding will be held in full UP style. Ishwari looked up surprised and said "This time we will have all the customs and rituals and have a full Bengali and UP wedding! Bijoy smiled and said "Yes that's also a good idea and the family started making plans noisily. In the middle of all this Dev and Sona slipped away into the kitchen and Sona said "Dev there is something I want to say. I think we should have a court wedding and maybe a party later. I feel so odd at this age how can we have a traditional wedding that too in front of Soha and Golu! She looked red and embarrassed. Dev looked at her and lifted her face by her chin and said "Lets go for the traditional option Sona after all this time there is no tension. Last time there was too much weighing on our minds! And he held her hands and planted a kiss on her hands.

Sonakshi agreed, albeit a little reluctantly. The wedding date was fixed for a month later. The preparation and the actual wedding ceremonies turned out to be very tiring for all involved. The wedding ceremonies went on for a week and the happiest were Golu and Soha. Meanwhile Elena and Vicky's divorce came through and she was now seeing Jatin. Sona was very happy for both Elena and Jatin. Finally Dev and Sona were married again and the wedding gift from both the families was a weeklong honeymoon in Paris something for which both Dev and Sona were grateful mainly because as soon as they informed their families that they would get married, they were never left alone as all the other persons were more excited. They could never be alone. Suha was very happy that her Mamma and Pappa would now be together. Suhana stayed back with Ishwari when Dev and Sona went to Paris.

They had a most wonderful and magical week in Paris alone. They would call Suhana everyday and ended up buying many gifts for her. Dev gifted Sona something very special to make their honeymoon special a white lace nightgown made of fine handspun lace. And they had one of the most magical nights when Sona wore it.

They got back to India and soon settled down to a regular routine. Sona and Dev made sure that at least one of them reach home early to spend time with Suhana. Ishwari gradually gave Sona the full responsibility of running the household. In the Bose household, Ronita and Saurav also settled down well in their marriage. Elena and Jatin decided to take their relationship further and decided to get married.

About ten months after they married, one morning Sona woke up a little early and felt like throwing up. She rushed to the bathroom and threw up violently. Dev woke up hearing her throwing up and he rushed to the bathroom immediately. He waited impatiently outside till she opened the door. He said "Why did u close the door? What happened?? Sona smiled at him weakly and replied "I threw up all that I ate last night. I don't know what happened. She sat down on the bed and asked him to go back to sleep as it was still early morning. Dev went to sleep reluctantly and almost immediately Sona got up again to rush to the bathroom and he heard her throw up again.

Dev was worried and Sona pacified him saying she was ok. She finally went to sleep a little later and very tired.

Dev got up and helped Soha get ready for school and dropped her to the bus as well. As he came back he went to his room he found that Sona was just getting up fretting that she got late. She felt dizzy and sat back again. Dev held her and forced her back to bed and tucking her in he said "Don't even think of getting out of bed. I will send the Doctor to you. You please rest today. For a change even Sona did not argue.

Dev left for work and during the day he called his Maa and asked her about Sona because he did not want to disturb her. Ishwari said "She is better now Dev don't worry. The doctor came and he has given her some medicines.

Dev was a little worried and came home early to a quiet home in the evening. He found his Maa in the living room having a cup of tea and Suhana doing her homework quietly on the dining table. "Hi Papa Soha said as soon as she saw him and ran to him and gave him a hug. Ishwari told him "Go and meet Sona. Poor girl has been in bed the whole day. I will send something for you to eat there.

Dev ran up the stairs, two steps and was a little worried as he pushed open the door to his room and was surprised to find Sona sitting on a chair in the balcony, looking relaxed. She heard him open the door and got up and gave him a big smile "How was your day Dev? Dev realised that something was not quite right and he said "How are you now. Why aren't you resting? Sona gave him a shy smile and didn't reply. Dev got a little annoyed and asked again Stop playing games Sona and tell me

Sona leaned towards him and whispered into his ears "I am pregnant Dev!

Dev was stunned to hear her words and he looked at her incredulously and just sat down on the bed with a thud. On seeing him quiet Sona got worried and she sat down next to him on the bed and took his hands in hers and asked him softly "What happened Dev? Arent you happy? Dev looked at her and she noticed his eyes watering "Of course not Sona I cant even begin to explain how happy I am. I am just stunned I never thought I would be able to experience this with you. Thank you for giving me this chance and he just engulfed Sona in a bone crushing hug and Sona hugged him back. They moved apart after a few minutes, Dev placed a kiss on her forehead and asked her "when did u find out? Sona looked at him shyly and said "Today when the doctor came. Dev looked at her and said "Thank you so much Sona. Does Maa know? Before Sona could reply, someone knocked on the door and Dev opened the door and saw that it was his Maa and as soon as she saw him she said "Dev main bahut khush hoon tum donon ke liye. Maine Sona ke Maa Baba ko bhi bula liya hai aaj raat khaane par and kyun ki mujhe lagta hai ki itni badi khush khabri haemin sabke saath share karni chahiye. Kyun Sona maine think kiya naa? Sona got and said "Maa aapne bilkul think kiya. Chaliye main aapki madad kar deti hoon kitchen mein. Ishwari immediately said "Nahin is baar main tujhe kuch bhi nahin karne doongi.

Sona made a face and said "Main kaam nahin karoon to moti ho jaaongi! Both Ishwari and Dev started laughing. As Sona started going towards the door, Ishwari also started leaving. She came back to Dev and said "Don't worry. I will not allow her to work much. Moreover, she may not be able to stand the smell of the food now. "

As his mother and wife walked out of the room his precious daughter walked in and wanted a hug. As he hugged his daughter and helped her change her clothes, Dev smiled to himself and thought to himself as to how he was god's chosen one suddenly. He had his maa, his daughter and his precious wife all rooting for him. And the little one who had just taken shape.. he was determined to stand by his wife every step of the way ... She deserved it. After all she was the one why sunshine, hope and laughter came back permanently into his home and life ...
