Yes, there are two incidents which just make your blood boil
1. Birthday, where he does not even wait for Sona to cut the cake
2. During infertility treatment when Sona asked him a very pertinent question and he did not give her any answer and rushed to his ma.

expecting a Kid (how so ever clever and intelligent the kid is) of 6 yrs to understand good and bad husband wife relation is too much. Soha has shown that for her a nice person / husband is who lifts his mama, helps her mom in walking, winning a basketball etc etc.

Cvs are just in fast forward mode - to make sure that Soha is another casualty to Devs deception.

Everyone talks about Devs shortcomings but I don't see many persons have mentioned the Dev B'day seq as a feather to his cap.

The way behaved on that day was the height of deception when he told Ish that I have no program with sona.

The forum blames Ish but I don't blame her for anything . Wo toh maan hai, kam padi lokhi hai, old generation hai, widow hai, insecure thee aur hai, poor thee aur hai- par Dev babu kyo itne gire hue hai😆

Jahan girna chahiye wahan toh tashan dikhate hai - Hopeless character.

That is why I don't find a problem in the basic character of Ishwari. Dev drove her to insecurity. He seems to assume things and then claim he can read their mind and he knows better. Imagine, if he walked up to his mum said he loves Sonakshi and that is why he called off his engagement to Natasha. Who is to say Ishwari would have disapproved?

The one (repeated) action Ishwari and Sona took exception to in Dev's character is his lying. That has manifested into this drama and personalities we see today.

Lying diminishes trust between human beings and lying is bad because it makes it difficult for the person being lied to make a free and informed decision about the matter concerned.

The problem with Dev is he lies so often that the line between white lies and blameworthy lies are so blurred. He broke his mother's trust in him, his wife's trust in him and his in-laws trust in him.

In real world, "I was afraid, so I shot the burglar who entered my house" is still a punishable offence. Why should Dev be shown to get away from everything because of his fear?

Irrespective of all the drama, if the writers are able to show us that Dev takes responsibility for his lies, I will be happy with this show.

I agree. CVs always emphasised Dev and Ishwari's feelings, their struggle, their hardship. They never showed even fraction of that on Bose family's feelings, their struggle, their hardship. Dida raised Bijoy alone without a brother or husband. That must have been hard. But CVs don't show it. Bijoy was an only child as opposed to Dev who had sisters. Usually people say that single parent with only child are more clingy and insecure because they have no one else. But Dida embraced Asha as a daughter.

On the other hand, Ishwari has three more kids. But for her, they might as well be neighbour's kids the amount of attention she gives them. In fact, she doesn't treat them any differently than she treats Vicky (if anything, she treats Vicky better than her own daughters).

But CVs are constantly showing Ishwari as victim and poor innocent lamb despite her evil deeds. Seriously?

First of all ... all were shot in hurry ...

It looked obvious... and I don't know why the hell they show Dev as Dev Mahan always

Sona side of grief and hurt is always less shown ... from beginning..,

True. Keeping in mind though, until Dev came and broke Sona's heart, Bijoy was not at all unbearable nor he screamed or got hyper. If you watch the initial scenes, Bose family was adorable in every frame. So while Bijoy has flaws being overprotective, that flaw is in Dev as well. Bijoy at least huffs and puffs and threats. Dev actually took away Ranveer's job for his family (Sona's too).

So the complaint we have for Dev is not that he had to compensate for his psychotic family. Our complaint is that he DID NOT compensate for his family and kept on pretending that his family is the best while knowing full well what they were doing to the so-called love of his life and yet doing nothing.

Had he acknowledged the problem in his family and tried to compensate by standing beside Sonakshi instead of running after his psychotic mother, none of us would have any complaint against him and neither would Sonakshi.

A woman can fight the world if her husband stands beside her. But when the husband leaves her side and makes her an outsider who is alone against him and his own family, any fight is useless because what will she gain even if she wins the fight?

Yes, Dev didn't have the luxury growing up. But that excuse can't continue forever. The luxury he had after he established his business more than made up for it. I don't think they eat the same food they had when they were poor, they didn't live in the same house when they became rich, then there is no excuse for the shitty attitude using the same excuse after they became rich either.

But Bijoy was never a rich man. He is a middle class man and that's how he was all his life.

Does Bijoy irritate me? Yes, he does. His shouting annoy me most of all. But no one in his house puts up with it. May be he would have been a cranky old man without his family. But the difference is that Dev would have been a better husband (may be even better person) without his too.

If we judge Bijoy how he would have been without his family and feel that he came on short, we have to judge Dev on the same category as well.

Exactly Bijoy seems bearable because of the rest of the Bose family. He has the best daughter, best wife, best mother, best son to cover up his flaws. Poor Dev had to compensate for the flaws of 'suicidal and I need urgent psychiatric help' Ishu, gold digger Gkb, theif Vicky, crabby Neha, along with his own flaws. Is this even possible for a mere human other than an ek TV bahu. All he could offer was his love.

Bijoy's family was only exasperated with him when he had an issue with his 'principles' and they had to bear power-cut for 2 days for 13rs discrepancy. Such important principles were a luxury Dev could never afford

Hi Tia di,
Great post and great thread.👍🏼.. Due to my work commitments, I am not very regular in commenting in your thread (and in the forum in general). But I had to comment this time as I have a doubt. (Sorry to interrupt the conversation)..

@Red: Did Dadi really raise Bijoy alone? But she often talked about what Dadaji did when she was young. Did I miss something?😕

Oh yes, the body doubles were very visible. However, I think in this scene they should not have used body doubles. I just could not engage with what should have been a mind blowing scene to watch. It didn't resonate anything in me or pull on any heart strings. The scene where Dev reveals to Suhana about his relationship with her was much better executed.

Originally posted by: astrix90

1. The episode was horribly edited and rushed. And they are using body doubles left, right and centre. The scary part is that this will continue for 3 months till Shaheer completes his shoot..

2. I see what the makers are trying to do with Soha. That she is perceptive and she senses how much her parents still love each other hence this emotional blackmail. I still wish it dint work out this way cos making one of the parents live in a hostile environment cos you cant get your kid to understand is kinda silly. Anyways I just hope they dont make it unpalatable like always and keep the drama quotient to the minimum. But who am I kidding 😆
3. Sona is already too much in love with Dev. Its only a matter of time before Bijoy catches Dev-Sona in a compromising position at home 🤣 I hope he has his BP tablets in handy 😆
4. Am waiting to see Ishwari's reaction to this whole set-up. She freaks out at the possibility of her son getting remotely attached to another girl. Am sure she is gonna have sleepless nights thinking Dev ki izzat loot na jaaye aur woh bhi usse jisse woh pyaar karta hai 😆
5. Will poor Golu be abandoned at Dev's house? How unfair is it to that poor kid? He put this idea in Soha's head, he is the one who is super loyal to his bigcha yet he is the one who should now stay all alone there when Dev shifts to Sona's house? Kya nainsaafi hai CVs 😆

Yep. That's why I liked yesterday's episode too that Dev was normal. No insults, no taunts, polite behaviour, requesting instead of demanding and was speaking in logic instead of random claims.

Regarding Sona, I think Sona never got over Dev (I don't know why though. How can you love someone you don't respect and obviously she didn't respect Dev in the end and neither did Dev). However, Sona needs to know the difference between loving and living.

I love my aunt - my mother's sister. She is my favourite aunt. We have great time together every time we meet, laughing and joking and basically being best buddies. We talk for hours on phone (sometimes longer than I talk with my mother). But I have lived with her for 8 months when I came to Canada and I realised that if I want to continue to be best friends and maintain our relationship, we are better off never living under the same roof. Some of her habits annoy me and some of mine annoys her.

Because to live/co-exist with someone under the same roof, as I keep repeating, you need compatibility which Dev and Sona don't have.

Partly because they are polar opposites in terms of ethics and morality and also because Dev is inflexible in terms of compromise. You can't live with someone for companionship and expect nothing to change. Even having a puppy brings change and here you are bringing a human being who happens to have a mind, choices, wishes and a life.

Sona needs to understand that.

That's what happens when two people starts dating and end up being friends because they realise that their equation may not work as partners, but they work as friends because of different expectations.

The same way, Sona and Dev make better friends than life partners. They didn't have a single argument as friends. They were more in tune to each other than ever. But the moment love was mixed in, their comfortable relationship went out the window. It became too complicated.

After reading 13 pages, I forgot what I wanted to post😆

I liked yday's episode as Dev appeared normal, no taunting...his tone changed while he talked with Sona. He spoke the truth to Soha.

Sona was only impressed with Dev. She never actually fell out of love for him. But she has accepted that only love is not enough to survive in a marriage to a guy like Dev. In S2, I have always seen Sona handling her emotions in a better way than Dev. Clearly, both still love each other. Where Dev had no control over his emotions and behaved erractically like a 8 yr old, Sona was more calm since she has accepted it and has learnt to live with her bitter memories. Hence Sona was never bitter or revengeful in S2. It was Dev.
After the rendezvous in the jungle, he understood certain things and we see his stance softening. His bitterness and anger going away and his better self resurfacing.

I hope Dev continues to behave in a mature way. And I hope Sona continues to be a happy mother. I doubt she is actually thinking about her love for Dev or his for her...she is more content with Dev-Soha bonding.

Both Dev-Sona are thinking about keeping their daughter happy as parents...for once their priorities are the same. Since their aim is to achieve the same thing, while on the same path, they will rediscover each other and what changes they underwent in the last 7 yrs. We'll see the journey of Dev-Sona, starting off as parents to later redeem each other in the process of becoming better parents.

I thought yday's epi was rushed. But the end 10 minutes made me happy.

Precap comments reserved for tonight after I listen to what Sona has to say to Asha. Sona never lies to Asha. So, I'm expecting a honest answer, like the one she gave to Jotin..that she loves Dev and has accepted that only love cant sustain a marriage and both were at fault for their broken relationship.
