EPISODE:

Episode starts with Sonakshi telling Dev that she came to Dixit house 6 years ago with six month old Soha forgetting her pain, her insults, her ego but she was turned back from the door. She said that like all women she also wanted Soha to have a father. She wished that when Soha walked the first time, she wanted her to hold one finger of her father and one finger of her mother. But it didn't happen.

The message she was given was that when she left Dixit house breaking all relationship, then she should never return back.

Me: My heart cried seeing Sona holding six month old baby Soha outside Dixit door and her heartbreak and shock when she was turned away.
Let me piece together the story of this woman as a mother. Soha was born in Kolkata. So that means that after losing their home, the family had moved to Kolkata and Sona found out about her pregnancy there. She was broke, homeless, jobless (they moved to another city and obviously no one gives a job to a pregnant woman), broke, in debt and not to mention, Sonakshi was the only earning member in the family. She didn't even think that not giving birth would make her life easier. No. She loved the baby and wanted her.

Knowing just what is her worth without a baby in Dixit household and fully aware of her medical condition, she patiently waited for her baby to be born. After the baby is old enough to travel, she travelled to Delhi to introduce Soha to her father but was turned away.

She still kept her positive outlook and not only made herself a success but didn't let the bitterness in her to impact Soha's mind. Soha has an independent mind and unbiased view of Dev is thanks to Sonakshi for not letting her bitterness spill over. Soha made a decision against Dev, not because something Sonakshi said, but because of what she herself deducted that if someone is disrespectful to our parents, how can they be good to us? That's a philosophy we applauded in Dev initially when he stood up for Ishwari, yet that's the philosophy we criticised in Sonakshi when she stood up for her father's honour.

That's society's mindset towards a son's duty to his parents vs. a daughter's duty to her parents.

Anyways,
moving on, Dev doesn't believe Sonakshi. He says that she is lying just like
she lied when she didn't tell him who the sun is in her sunflower story.
Sonakshi says that she doesn't lie.

She shows
him the proof, the boarding pass, she kept for so many years. She asks Dev to
ask his security guard or his family.

Me: Smarty
pants, Sona. The only thing Dixits can't deny is the solid proof staring at
their face.

Dev calls
his family and asks them who turned away Soha. I mean Sona holding Soha.
Ishwari feels guilty and confesses. Dev is shocked.

Me: Bhaiya,
I am truly feeling bad for you now. I wonder if now you will understand that
what a gem you lost for the shitty family you got. Now what will you do? Those
six years you lost with your daughter isn't coming back and turns out that for
seven years you were also living a lie that you actually have a family. But you
don't. Sonakshi has a family. You have an obligation.

Dev breaks down.
Sonakshi feels bad for him. Sonakshi asks Dev if he still thinks that she is a
lier. It's funny that she still has to prove herself. She said to Dev that she
came all those years ago, but was turned away. But she told Soha about Dev. She
told him the truth because it was her right.

Me: This is
the lady from whom Soha got her compassion. I am sad to see today Bhaiya so
broken. But he was not broken today. He was broken when he let Sonakshi go the
first time. But he was lucky that he got her back. Sonakshi had the heart to
try again. But he didn't learn his lesson the second time either. He again took
Sonakshi for granted. Then he was broken a second time. This betrayal from his
mother is not the first time. But since it cost him six years of his daughter's
life and all her firsts, it now feels a more expensive price to him. Sonakshi
herself wasn't a big enough loss for him.

Mamaji
scolds Ishwari for denying entry to Sonakshi. Ishwari cries and says that she
thought Dev will get depressed again. He just got happy when Golu came home.
She didn't know that Sona came with Soha. What did she do? She tried to save
her baby (*snort*). Mamaji says but it was possible that their relationship
could have sorted out. They could have got back together. Ishwari makes faces.

Me: Mamaji,
wohi to nehin chahti thi naa Maata. Itni mushkilon se Sonakshi ko bhagaya tha.
Usko apna bachha wapas de deti? Bete ki khushi mein khush ho, itna bada dil to
nehin hain inki.

Of course,
Maata. Had you known that Soha had come flying through the air, you'd have
welcomed her Jaya Bachhan way with aarti ki thaal in K3G. Oh Sonakshi too?
Wait, she wasn't invisible woman?

Dev comes
home and Ishwari maata starts defending her that she didn't know Soha came to
her door. She thought just Sona came. If she knew that the useless and
worthless reproductive organ was holding her report card with a gold sticker,
she'd have let her in.

Dev tells
Ishwari that why she didn't tell him all these years that Sonakshi had come to
her? He missed six years of his daughter's life. He was living a suffocating
life. Why did she keep silent?

Me: That's
it? No threats, no intimidation, no manhandling. Bhai wah. Angry angry bird it
is.

Let's see if
I understand correctly, Bhaiya.

Let's
consider the six years you lost of your daughter to be a diamond. It's
according to some, priceless.

When you
thought that Sonakshi deprived you of your daughter - You wanted to destroy
her, you wanted to go on World War III, you were willing to start a non-ethical
strategy where Soha would have left her and come to you because she is a bad
mother etc etc.

Because
Soha's first six years is priceless.

Now you
know that this was your mother's doing - You question your mother with sad
face, toned down language, and zero threat and intimidation. Nor warning of her
never being allowed anywhere near Soha because she is a bad mother.

Because
since she is the main culprit, now while it's unfortunate but you missing Soha's
first six years aren't big enough to start a civil war and walk out of that
house.

Am I
following your logic so far?

Anyway, Mamaji
says that they can amend for the mistakes. Ishwari eagerly jumps on the
bandwagon and says that she wants to meet her granddaughter but Dev says that
no one will meet Suhana. She is not ready to meet anyone. If he is not being
able to digest the lie and betrayal so far, how will Suhana tolerate that? For
him, she is a newborn baby. He doesn't know what to tell her that how her
mother and her were turned away from his door.

Me: At
least Bhaiya, you stood up for your daughter. I have no doubt that you will be
a good father even though you are never a good husband or life partner. But
since your primary objective is being a good father, I have faith in you.

And Ishu
maata, itna sab kuch sunne ke baad bhi itna bhi sharam nehin hain ki aap chup rahe. Demand pe demand kiye
jaa rahee hain. Aapke liye to poora gang of Angry Birds bhejna padega.

Soha is
depressed at home. Bose family tries to make her cheer up but she is upset. She
thinks in her head that she broke her promise to her mother and met her father. She hopes Asha didn't tell this to Sona. She never wanted to hurt her mother and she feels sorry.

Me: Oh poor
baby. It's not your responsibility to protect your mother. It's your mother's responsibility to protect you. Go talk to your mother honey. I bet she will tell you that you can never
hurt her. Don't keep it within yourself like your dad.

Precap: Ishwari prays in temple to meet her
granddaughter and feels giddy. Soha supports her.

Me: History
repeats itself. At one time, Sonakshi saved your life which you conveniently
forgot to be grateful for. Now Soha saved you just like her mother. Be grateful
for her compassionate nature which is a gift from her mother.

On the
other hand, Bijoy says that they should not let Soha meet the Dixits. They
might hurt her.

Me: Bijoy,
that's not your judgement to make. But it's okay. Your impact doesn't go beyond
huffing and puffing. Sonakshi will do what she sees fit.

I was also wondering that. Why didn't she ask Soha directly? I'd have asked.

I don't have anything to say regarding episode but one thing no one can deny that shaheer ,Erica and supriyaji are doing hell good job in acting .I mean they hit jackpot with casting shaheer as Dev to play such pitiful character 😆,shaheer major plus is his acting through eyes ,like one moment you hate dev character then there comes "tears" tapak tapak ,then sometime you feel pity for him.Basically he's gopi bahu of this show.Perfect doormat who can't take stand for himself or for his lou . CV's ko Ye 3 actors ki money bada Dena chayee😆 Unki acting ke wajah se Ye show chal raha hain😆 waise jatin ko kaha holiday main bhej diya😆 CV's, uska soyamvar hone wala tha.

Your gif on 'Saala main toh baap bann gaya' Shaheer's expressions triggered a thought in me - Why is it that Baap banna is something to be proud of, and maa banna is one of the duties for women ?

Thank you. 😳 Idk mann... like I feel SO DONE with Dev, Ishwari and basically the show that at least for now, the only reaction I can give out is...blaaah. *yawns* Jokes aside, I think its got to do with the mentality that women basically exist for one reason that's given the top most priority; procreation. So, its almost 'beti, tujhe toh yeh karna hi tha' vs 'arre waah beta, tune yeh kar liya'.

The reason why this show is still running is because of the three main actors.Dev's character is hopeless but Shaheer is such an excellent actor that you cannot help but get affected by his performance.Even Erica is doing justice go her character which is well written too.
Supriya Ji's acting is the only reason why Ishwari is bearable.Seriously Mrs and Mr Pattnaik are blessed to have such fine actors.Otherwise jo story aur characterization hai usse toh koi bhi yeh show nahin dekhta.😆

wonderful post tejaswini. hail your post

whenever someone talks about dev being selfless im like 🤡

exactly which relationship has he been selfless with? to be honest, being a mindless puppet of your mother's does NOT make you a selfless son. a child and parents' relationship goes through phases of understanding- parents go from being your teacher and guide in your life to being your friend and philosopher. you go from being dependent to being equals and its a relationship based on being honest and able to share and discuss. dev is NEVER honest with his mother. he never wants to say or do anything that may be confrontational even though it will be good for her in the long run. and the oh i worked and got successful from a young age and didnt get to really live my childhood sob story is literally just the most pathetic thing ever. and ishwari's- oh i sacrificed so much bs was just death. i dont understand this concept of sacrifice in hindi serial...you cant 'sacrifice' what you dont have. ish was just dealt a bad hand after her hubs died. its not like she would be rolling in dough if she just abandoned her children. like seriously, india is FULL of those people who work through their childhood and most of them dont even have a billion rupee company to show for it. so the sob story was really trivializing the struggles of millions of people everywhere. whenever it would come up i would be like- good job dev, pat on the back. now can you just be grateful of where you are in life right now?

and ish also hes not very good at sacrificing for his mother. his half-baked attempt at 'sacrficing' sona for ish was literally a laughter riot. you cant sacrifice conditionally- then thats not a bloody sacrifice. he literally was like a difficult child through that whole phase. like- oh ma im gonna break up with sona for your sake but im gonna drink and waste my life stalking her till you are forced to agree cos i'll be a total mess. thats not sacrificing thats forcing someone into a corner. and then he even told sona he would choose her over his mother (lies). none of that was being a good 'selfless' son. his struggle was quite normal in our society- if you work hard and become rich, your not just gonna be like f off to your fam. and he loves being dev dixit so i dont buy the whole i did it all for my family bs. so ya hes a good enough son but all these claims of glory by the dev pankhis and ish is just not true.

hes definitely not a good brother. im sorry but being a good siblings entitles a LOT more than just buying them things and educating them and marrying them off. if he had any sense of how to be a good brother, neha would not be separated from ranveer. you cant buy happiness and a good brother would have been able to explain that to explain that to neha instead of trying to buy her husband and fanning his insecurities and neha's feelings of inadequacies. and the way he treats elena is simply abhorrent. whether she deserves bad treatment from her own or not is debatable but dev is def not one of those people whom shes hurt. so her treatment in the show is just wrong.

now coming to a lover, i dont think you can love anyone if you are incapable of loving them equally if not more than yourself. its ok to fall out of love, you should love someone till you can and not a second longer. but that time should be the most selfless and honest period of your life. dev's love was not selfless, it involved the words me myself and i- dev ka daard, dev ki khushi, dev ka akelapan, dev ki ma, dev ka aadarsh, dev ki family, dev ka pyaar much more than sona. if he really loved sona, in my opinion he would have never married her or forced his mother to accept her. he wouldve either honestly asked her to wait and he will try to handle the mummy situation or he would have let her go. that is love. its about the other person's true peace and happiness even if it means hurting them in the short term.

im not even going to discuss him as a husband or a son-in-law. it will legit give me hyper tension. and as a father- hes just as juvenile a dad as he is as a brother. im basing this off his parenting of golu. parenting is not about flirting your children out of trouble. its not about fun and games and a damn care attitude. dev knows what it takes to be successful. hes really proud of his new avatar but if the dev dixit of old- the geek master, suit wearing dev dixit didnt exist, this new avatar would not be able to afford existence. so what exactly is he teaching golu? be cool now and a fool later in life? ok. he literally doesnt understand how to raise children and again the dev dixit epidemic of me myself and i is still very persistent. dev's haq, dev's waris, dev's fixer upper. 😳 and also his erratic impulsive bi-polar love does not really equate to good parenting im afraid. two days ago golu was the love of his life and suddenly now hes 'alive' because of soha only? so does that make golu a tub of dalda? what? he wasnt good enough to bring dev 'back to life'? i acknowledge its hard to feel that for others' kids but then why the tall proclamation of golu being his waris then? and even regarding soha, her feelings toh are a bunch of expired bananas to dd, so how is he a selfless parent again?

correct me if im wrong but in what role is dev selfless? i atleast havent seen him go the extra mile for anyone yet. let me know if you have, im very open to being wrong.

👏👏Very well called out the spade as a spade..
@red: No matter how much justification one can give for Dev-Ish action and behavior, the things that you have called out clearly says it all.. Some things can never become right how much ever explanation and evidences are provided.. One can put Povs and perspectives but that wouldn't make them right.. By being empathetic with them we are only encouraging them to continue the wrong..🥱
