Today I had problem with every word Dev uttered... It was a reflection of the patriarchal society that we live in. But my main issue was with Sona, a little more than Dev, since I have 0 hopes attached to him.
My In-laws in Bangalore told me that their neighbor's DIL expired 2 days back due to side effects of 6-7 years of infertility treatment. Her husband was crying his heart out. If Ishwari had a bahu like that, she would have been the happiest MIL in the world... 'Marke bhi saath nibhaane waala pyar' !
But who is to be blamed the most here ? the DIL herself. She sacrificed everything, including her life for a family who cared the least for her.. What did she gain from this ? Nothing.
Dev Bijoy ko thappad ni lagata toh Sona would also be in that situation.. And inspite of seeing the dark inner soul of Dev and Ishu maata, Sona still is ready to have a conversation with Dev. Sometimes it is important to think about a person, beyond the blinkers called 'relationship'. Suhana is not the first person in the world to grow up with the shadow of a father.
Its better to be alone than be with a husband who considers you no more than a 'Baby Generator'. Its better to grow up with a single mother, than be in a family that is complete to the world and broken between the 4 Walls.
