Sonakshi returned everything ... by EVERYTHING I mean even the "Namaste" that Ishwari handed out to her. But Sonakshi's namaste was given out with the utmost grace and dignity unlike Ishwari who was once again in her bechari and melodramatic mode.
Sonakshi didn't just return everything but in turn she also made it clear to one and all present in that room that by helping Dev she was not making any attempts to be a part of their family. She understands Ishwari psychi quite well and knows that Ishwari must be thinking in those lines. Thank fully this time around Dev also understands this. That is why he also addressed the issue with his mom by saying " kis bath se dar gayi thi tu.. mera liye ya phir Sonakshi wapas meri life main na aa jaye is liye"
Dev was indeed baffled by Sonakshi's change in attitude in the hospital but he understood where it came from when Ishwari said to him that she had thanked Sonakshi and she was so scared about his well being. This time he was ready to hand out some verbal punches back to his mom.
Ishwari has always been shown as "miss know it all", even in the past whenever she would lecture her bahu Sonakshi it would always be filled with proverbs, metaphors, analogies etc. Just like today it was about how most daughter in law's give their everything to make relationships work ... Mind you the phrase she used didn't say girls give everything to make "marriages" work it was in fact "relationships" So it was never about how good a wife she was to Dev and kept him happy, but in fact how she could not be a good enough daughter in law. Dev had a fitting reply this time.
Another thing to note was her narrow mindedness over the fact that it is only the women's duty to make a marriage work. Just like off late she is amazed by the fact that Sonakshi is doing so well in life inspite of being a girl. Dev realizes this too. That his mom is backward in her thinking that it why he gives it back by saying that it was in fact a lady who saved him and also that "Mard ko bhi dard hota hai" some wounds are so deep that they cannot be healed.
It is amazing how 7 years of separation can make a person contemplate and think about where he went wrong. Dev although blames himself as well as Sonakshi equally for their break up, but in seven years he has also realized that his mom is a human being with flaws and not the "Bhagwan" that he had envisioned her for 28 years. Her emotional blackmailing is not going to work this time around.
