I agree with you to a certain extent Shaavi, not completely regarding his expectations. I will try to put my point once I get access to a computer. 😃 Not willing to try with mobile since I always end up losing everything I type most of the time.

Good going people.
Jatin brings a very interesting angel to the story. I don't see this as your run of the mill triangle.

When this story started, sona was waiting for her prince charming while Dev was subconsciously waiting for a friend. What happened is, she was smitten. I would say it started around the time his school teacher came and she found out about his humble early days. She was smitten by her patient's son. He was complicated and that actually made him very attractive.

Unlike Dev. Who found a friend in his mother's nutritionist. He had never given love a thought. But he was lonely and accepted the friendship sona offered.

They were both being themselves at that stage. As time passed he fell in love with her. But she never managed see him as a friend. That also never happened with ritwick although it was beginning to. With jatin I see a diffeernt energy and body language in sona. She was a giggly like a school girl. There wasn't that eye fluttering, butterflies in my stomach type mannerisms.

Another thing where the friendship plays a role is, sona was never able to explain to Dev why he needed to up his game with Bijoy. Dev had never had to prove himself to anyone. And this meant he didn't make that extra effort which sona expected him to make. While here , we saw, she was quickly able to tell her friend that he needs to stay with them else Bijoy won't be impressed. The lines of communication are open.

I am hoping jatin will explicitly or implicitly make Sona realise the need to be friends with your life partner

Also, dev didn't notice by the sun shone "through" jatin and sona. He genuinely believes she is infertile else why would he not try and get a clear answer as to why she was at school and also got a call from them.

Today's episode was very interesting and very revealing too. In season 1 Dev's character was completely explored, but not much of Sonakshi's. In this season Sonakshi's pysche is being explored.

There has been number of discussions on how Dev was wrong and also how toxic Dev -- Ishwari's relation really was. But after today it is very clear that Bijoy -- Sonkshi's relation was toxic too even before Dev came into the picture. The only difference is that the toxicity of Dev -- Ishwari's relation was glaringly obvious, while it was not so with Sonakshi -- Bijoy. Today if I have to compare who was the worst parent, I would say Bijoy(not intended to hurt anyone, just my POV), because what Ishwari did was in ignorance, in fear and she was illiterate and came from the old traditional ways. But Bijoy was educated, came from a liberal family, yet he created this poisonous relationship with Sonakshi by being too proud and egoistic.

If Ishwari failed to accept Sonakshi in Dev's life, both Bijoy and Sonakshi failed to accept Dev in their life. In season 1, Dev told Sona that she is his best friend. He shared his thoughts with her, asked her advice, even regarding personal matters, trusted her even before he realized that he loved her. But Sonakshi did not do any of these. She failed to share her thoughts, did not really ask his advice on anything, and although said that she trusted him, she never really trusted him.

Sonakshi failed to make Dev "her best friend" and "confidant" as Dev had made her his. A relationship, especially of husband and wife can thrive only when both of them share each other, not just physically, but emotionally too. Here is where Sonakshi failed big time. She failed to let Dev in. Dev was never privy to Sona's thoughts, her real feelings.

If Ishwari wanted Dev to be dependent on her, Bijoy wanted her to be so independent, that he gave the feeling that Sonakshi was perfect by herself. That she did not need anybody. Sonakshi feared any weaknesses to the extent that whatever she did she wanted to be perfect and best. Humans are not robots, no one is perfect. Bijoy never supported Sonakshi when she needed him the most. He did not tell her it was ok to be imperfect. He just assumed that by constantly telling Sonakshi she was strong and she could do anything and everything, he set her up in such a way that she never learned to handle failure nor weaknesses. She never realized her mistakes in anything cause she was constantly told that she did not make mistakes.

Jatin is not brought to the show for Sonakshi or Dev to realize their feelings of "love" for one another. He is brought in show for Sonakshi to realize her flaws which caused her relationshiip with Dev to fail.

I wrote this in another post.

The love story started with Dev and Sonakshi becoming friends, but this friendship was one sided. Dev considered Sonakshi his best friend, but Sona did not think so. She was very happy to share his secrets and give him advice, but never revealed herself in all this.

Even during the marriage phase Dev was open about his feelings and everything to her, but she failed in letting him in. She failed to make him "her best friend". Today she commented how Jatin thought her idea was good, supported her and even invested in her company. But wasn't Dev think the same. Sonakshi failed here to include Dev and talk to him about it, openly. If only she had discussed about all this openly, the slap of Bijoy would never have happened. Everything would have been out in the open and none of the things would have happened, that happened.

Dev is going to question it later to Sona and she won't have an answer. Not just for this question, but everything. Her not making Dev as her friend was her mistake and Dev is going to question that. Dev realizes his mistakes and is ready to accept them, but is Sonakshi even realizing how wrong she was and how the separation was also because of her? Right now, I don't think so.

Only when she realizes her mistakes too, then the story can progress...Just my thoughts. Not intended to hurt anyone...😊

Shaavi excellent analysis as usual! I agree about the relationship between dev & sona. Dev always considered sona as his friend & lover. Sona considered dev only as a lover never a friend unfortunately!

I was surprised by her ease with jatin one she never showed with dev even after marriage! Of course I don't see anything romantic in their interactions. She even discussing her insecurities with him. She used to do that only with Elena before i.e. during the time she fell in love with dev. She never showed this side to dev unfortunately.

I have to disagree about bijoy here. Yes like ish he places a lot burden in a subtler manner on sona but unlike ish he never played her or dev. He was unhappy &I still is because dev broke his daughters heart at the behest of ish. As a father he is overprotective but not obsessed like ish. Where ish does not want anybody else to be as or more important in devs life in bijoy case his daughters happiness was supreme. Yes he interfered sometimes in their life but it a reaction to the way his daughter was being treated by the dixits.

Unfortunately this distaste is preventing him from doing the right thing - soha meeting her dad. Now sona has to take a call without getting influenced by bijoy. Probably in these scenarios a person like jatin will help he in the decision making as he has no personal baggage.

What a respite this place is for me😆 I am physically and emotionally drained and all the amazing posts here are like a boost to me..Sorry couldn't scroll all pages back so consider my collective "likes" for all the posts here😆

I won't lie today my calm mind took a backseat and Devakshi heart was racing front and I anted to smack something when Jatin came in between them like that..No wonder I never liked third angles😆

I supported Sona's decision of hiding Suhana as long as she was away from Delhi but today my heart went for Dev when he was questioning her multiple times about her school visit and she blatantly diverted her secret with convenient anger. Punishing a father about an unknown daughter for 7 years is not enough? He is not some terrorist/molestor for christ sake.. If I was Sona, yes I would be damn pissed at Dev and heck I won't even turn to his direction but now when I see him face to face everyday, won't I remember atleast one good thing about him which will make him capable of being a good father leave about being a good partner? Won't I remember the days we both sizzled for our tiny khargosh and tiny obhodro? If Dev deserved punishment for all his mistakes, i think he had done his sentence living a nomadic purposeless life for 7 years already.

Sona's fear of loosing Soha finally showed her vulnerable side and proved she really didn't understand Dev that well. Can't blame her either when all she wanted was to fit in a distorted family of the man she loved. I feel Jatin will play a role here in directing her to correct path because he really feels like a nice guy with friendly nature.

This the beauty of this serial naa..the more we analyze the more we can see truth in both sides and everyone seems to be correct in their own way😆

Btw did anyone else noticed the "orange" color shirt on Suhana's drawing of her papa? Did her momma told that too? 😉

OK I really don't know what I blabbered above , my senses are not sane right now from the fever..still not able to resist commenting here..Sam & DQ you both are to blame 😆

@Deepsal,

Totally agree with what you wrote.

I wrote similar views on Sona hiding Soha from Dev in the other thread. I am writing it here again.

I was so upset yesterday seeing Soha's drawing especially when she kissed her daddy's imaginary sketch she made.
If Sona is hiding Soha because of those hurtful words, and that Dev never stood by her. Does Soha need to be deprived from her dad's love because Dev failed to be good husband to Sona? Isn't it more like Sona is keeping the grudges on that?

Who is suffering here? Soha. She is missing her dad's love.

Sona is so close to her dad. She should have understand how for a kid a father is so important. Usually girls are more close to dad compared to mom. It is unfair to Soha too. Didn't Bijou always talk about how Sona used to be when she was a small kid? Dev would never say those things. He missed those important years from his daughter's life.

Dev always wanted a daughter. He genuinely wanted to have kids. He might not be a good husband for Sona(as per Sona), but he was a good son and also good brother, and most importantly a good human being.

When Sona met Dev in the school, she was little scared but she was not guilty. We hope, we will see this in future.

I am so glad that makers are showing Dev and Golu's bonding here. At least no one can say Dev can't be a good father figure. In the precap, when he was saying "I want to meet this girl, tu mujhe milvayaga" My heart went out for him.

I am surprised that no one from Bose family was thinking about Soha's missing her dad. There is nothing wrong in them thinking about Sona's remarriage. But at least first let the father know about daughter.

I still did not get how Sona gave an option to Soha to stay with her dad when she is so insecure about Dev taking away Soha from her.

Also, another thing when she was talking about Jatin, how he liked her ideas and invested in her business. One thing came in my mind, when Sona started business with Sourav, she didn't even ask Dev about his input about her business idea. It is okay for not asking for his help in investment. But I was disappointed with Sona for not asking about his input about business especially when Dev was so successful in business.

I liked today's episode. It was well directed. I just loved Golu and Soha's scenes.

Erica and Shaheer looking so good in season 2, you can't keep your eyes off them. Sona has never seen Dev in orrange jacket. Erica is so good at sketching, I think she must have drew Shaheer's picture 😳

The episode last night was an eye-opener regarding Sonakshi's personality. Dev's flaws have always been out in the open, but Sonakshi's was hidden amongst the idiosyncrasies of the Dixit family. Now, with Jatin being introduced, there are lot of questions which Sonskshi needs to ask herself.

The posts of the awesome writers have managed to put forth unbiased views, worth reading. 👏

Bijoy is agog at the relationship shared by Sonakshi-Jatin. So now he thinks that Jatin is the right guy for his daughter as he helped them during their financial crisis and they are good friends. What an irony. He had gone berserk when Saurabh borrowed funds from Dev, his SIL who invested willingly. Why this bias and where is Bijoy's pride? I liked Asha who clearly stated that it's for the people involved to decide their future together.

Sonakshi ran into Jatin's arms and the camaraderie was visible. I always believed that she would be comfortable only in Dev's arms! 😲 Sonakshi had mentioned to Elena when she confessed her love for Dev that she never had many friends as she was a book-worm, so dating also never happened. Did the Creatives include the hug scene to ensure that Dev asked about Suraj and become uneasy? I was equally surprised at Sonakshi's happiness on seeing Jatin? What was that? I also have lot of male friends since school days and we don't meet so often. I do give them a friendly cheek to cheek hug, but don't rush into their arms!!!! 😃 Did Sonakshi do that on purpose? Or has she really moved on from Dev?

What stopped her from trusting Dev as a friend? She was hiding so many things from him that in the end it all exploded on her face! Now, she is even hiding Suhana. Sonakshi is a hypocrite. On one hand, she accuses Dixit family of not giving space to her when she herself didn't confide her fears/insecurities to Dev and on the other hand, advises Asha to be a liberal MIL. Strange! If Sonakshi could confide all in Jatin, in seven years, wasn't Dev also available? What stopped her from confiding in Dev during their marriage? She had assured Dev that her top priority would be to ensure that the Dixit household accepts her and she got lost proving herself. Dev never wanted her to change. The dialogue between them when Dev accused Sonakshi of hiding things from him esp. about Suraj, shows that Dev's investment in their marriage was a notch higher than Sonakshi. Sonakshi was caught in a web of Ishwari's insecurity which became hers and XGKB's taunts that she forgot to focus on her relationship with Dev. Sad!

Where is the confident woman who set out to conquer all to restore the pride of her family? Why is she scared now? Was that guilt talking in the pre-cap? 😃 Or is she scared of Dev's power? But, she was always sure she is his equal! So what fear does she have?

Golu and Suhana, adorable kids. But, Suhana is not making any friends while Golu is enjoying his school days. 😕 Suhana draws a pic of her dad and it lands in Dev's hand. Kismet! So, the father-daughter meeting is likely to happen on Monday. That would be a beautiful moment, isn't it?

Hi, I am not very active in the forum but read some posts regarding Sona - Bijoy relationship being toxic, so wanted to express my views! I don't think teaching your daughter to be strong and independent is wrong. I think the marriage lasted because Sona was strong otherwise it would have ended much earlier. I know what it is to live with a narcissist mother-in-law and her obedient son. Trust me, even if you take out Mami+Vicky, prenup and 5cr debit factors out of the equation, life is still hell. The gradual degradation of mental strength of the daughter-in-law happens in such toxic environment when the DIL caters to whims of MIL like Ishwari and husband like Dev Dixit(the earlier one). Those times if you have a father like Bijoy Bose and family like Boses, it is like a ray of hope, and you won't do stupid acts like ending your life or get into depression.
Regarding opening up by Sona, I don't blame her much. The two wishes she had asked amongst all the melodrama were 1) Jhoola and 2) Dev to be independent regarding his clothes( a small beginning from Sona's side to make Dev not so dependent on his mother). We know the result of that two wishes.

Sona's personal wishes crushed, her trying to help her husband's family members always taken as interference, her lack of privacy in her own bedroom with hubby, botched honeymoon, stranded while hubby celebrating his birthday with family(of which she was not a part). It is not easy to take all these without being strong.

Bijoy Bose warmed up to Dev after Sona's marriage althoug it is not easy to accept a son in law like that who created such tamasha on Sona's engagement day and later prenup fiasco. When Dev had gone for dinner to Bose house, Bijoy was very courteous. He was opening up to Dev by opening a bottle of alcohol too but Dev's calling Asha as aunty was something which hurt Bijoy a lot. When provoked he gave harsh reaction but he was never a plotter unlike Ishwari.

Sona is at fault. Dev was at bigger fault. So her mistakes seemed smaller.
As somebody had pointed out that sona had emotional security all the time in the form of her family, soha & so called pillar of support 'Jatin '.

Dev never had anybody apart from sona.
That is why he tried dating so many girls/ became casonova ( who knows)
He would have also felt very bad when sona says that you will be all alone in your life.

If dev said all the harsh things; sona also hurt him by saying that.
Again & again, I am saying- Dev lost everything.
Sona didn't.
So I pity Dev more.

He never had any true friend in his life.
He relied on sona in difficult situations,
After marriage, they ceased to be friends.

I really want a third angle for Dev also - this Dev who is free from his mother's clutches.
A girl with a simple heart ( not headstrong) who can love Dev.
Strictly my pov- don't bash me,

Sona seems not interested in Dev. Then they should show Dev is also not bothered by this xyz.
Why is that they want to show sona can have anybody.
During the break up also she wants to project that only.

I always felt dev's love for sona always a notch higher till she left him.
Sona always thinks & wants to prove Dev is not needed .

Jiyaasa Rekha Snehavinaya. Great to read your posts. Unbiased and analytical.

At any given day I prefer Dev to Sonakshi. Dev has his shortcomings but he never hid them to project himself as Mr perfect. He wears his heart on his sleeve.
Sonakshi appears to be perfect but she is not.

I did not like Sonakshi's open display of her love towards Jatin, running into his arms that too in her office space. As far as I can understand she is not meeting him after a long time. It looked odd and artificial.
I hundred percent feel Dev is a better lover than Sonakshi.

I could not support her for hiding Soha from Dev, She is snatching a daughter's right to enjoy her father's love and care. Ironically her strong supporters in her crime are her idealistic father, mother and ungrateful brother.
