I agree with you mate. But then, if people claim that Sona and Dev are equally at fault today, sona and Dev are equally at fault for broken marriage,Golu has a better upbringing than Soha, then they can say that Ishwari and Bijoy, are equally bad parents... And they have equal hand at breaking the marriage...😳
Your arguments are very valid, but it won't convince them..

200% agreed.

If I were at Bijoy's place and I had to reluctantly agree to give my daughter's hand to a guy who has broken my daughter's heart before, trust me, the guy had to work his ass off to convince me why I should trust him for my daughter again. I can handle my daughter's stupidity and lack of visibility about the future with such a guy although it would be much of a disappointment to see my daughter's behaviour despite being so wise, but being a parent if I have to do kanyadaan, I would have tested the guy much much more and harsh before agreeing to that bond.

Lol we have a whole iconic movie where Raj had to convince Baldev about trusting him when he had absolutely no fault or no such bad record with Simran, still he did and did without complaints, and today we have MCPs like Dev who claim to be the owner of the girl's life as soon as 'he' falls in love with her.. 😆

Thank you for making this post. There's absolutely no comparison between Bijoy and Ishwari. He is rude, abrupt and eccentric. But he is not a hypocrite who pretend to be goody two shoes in front of his daughter and play dirty games to ruin her marriage behind her back.

He never treated Saurabh and Dev differently. He never Dev feel like an outsider the one time he visited Sona's family for one night. Dev made himself an outsider to please his mother. Otherwise that family embraced him like their own.

Ishwari kept on treating Sonakshi like outsider from day 1. No matter how much she tried, she was treated like a burden they were tolerating for Dev.

She was uncomfortable there every day. Dev didn't notice.

Dev was never uncomfortable at Bose's place because when Bijoy kicked them out, he threw both his daughter and son-in-law out.

At that time, people were claiming how could Bijoy risk their safety despite them having a car and enough money to go in their hotel. There were no uproar from the same people when Dev was celebrating his birthday at midnight with his family while his wife was waiting alone in the hotel without even a transportation in the same city where previously their joint life was at risk.

I will take a concerned, loving and protective father over an uncaring, selfish father who doesn't give a damn about their daughter's pain because they are more concerned with what will society think.

And sorry, if any in-law doesn't want a daughter's father to interfere, they better treat his daughter like she was treated in his home. They get to have their son and HIS daughter taking care of them, what are they doing in return? What gives them the right to treat his daughter like a burden? And why should he tolerate that so that they and their precious son can get to have their cake and eat it too.

Bijoy made mistakes. But every single time when he was called on it, he apologized. And the way he treated his mother and wife? He is also an ideal husband. Even today, he never disrespects his wife when she points out his mistakes. But always respectfully willing to listen.

If I had told you that imagine Bijoy is played by Shaheer, Asha is played by Erica and Sonakshi is Soha, a lot of people will change their mind at Bijoy's suitability as a father. Suddenly he will seem like the ideal father even if he slaps the guy who hurt his daughter, not once but twice and never kept any of his promises.

Bijoy and Sonakshi Bose are the two best characters I have seen in Indian Television. And I am saying this after I have watched Balika Vadhu with FIL and MIL like Sumitra and Bhairo . I have my points why I feel Sona-Bijoy are better than the above 2 despite them 2 being flawless in their roles. 😊

As this topic is only about Bijoy, so let me make some points only on him -

1. Initially, he had heard bad stuffs about Dev from Sona, and he went to speak to Dev as Sona's boss and witnessed something very sensitive, he not only changed his mind about Dev, but also felt truly happy when Sona fell in love with him. He was just happy for both of them. Didn't differentiate, forget about feeling an ounce of insecurity.

2. However, Dev fell into pits in his eyes the moment Dev acted like a total jerk and chose his mother over Bijoy's daughter without batting an eyelash 😳. I mean are we really expecting him to do 'aarti-utaaro' of Dev for such great act when we see from the father's point of view ? 🤢

3. He made an effort to make Sona move on, WITH HER consent. The environment Bijoy has created at his home, it was expected that if Sona is NOT ready for a relationship, she had the space to say 'NO' to Bijoy. When Sona said 'Yes', Bijoy took her words on her face value, because that was how he has grown his children into - NOT lying, NOT hiding. Little did he know Sona had other plans 🤢.

4. He came to know that Dev is harrassing Sona by stalking and making it difficult for her to move on 😵. Dev continued to fall down in Bijoy's eyes.

5. Engagement Drama - The guy came to his daughter's engagement and not only created a scene, but made the ceremony flop resulting in broken relationship with a guy like Rithwik, with whom he visioned a perfect future for Sona as the environment, frankness and mostly, the mindset matches. 😊 However, the guy got drunk and made Rithwik run from the circus. 😎

6. Next morning he saw the drunkard guy's mother begging and emotionally blackmailing his daughter much against his plight to marry the same guy. The guy was nowhere in the picture asking Bijoy for his daughter's hands, apologizing for his brutal behaviour. All he saw was the guy's MOMMY playing big in the picture. Oh Bijoy, if I were you, I would have never agreed for this bond 😆. Why did you ? His ONLY mistake was not to test Dev and his loyalty towards Sona over HIS mother BEFORE marriage.

7. Ever since then he saw Sona suffering by Dev's lies, his actions. Even when Sona fought with Dev and returned home for 2 days, Bijoy, for the sake of children (Dev included) encouraged Dev to go get his daughter. 👏 Had he been bitter and unaccepting about Dev, he could have easily added fuel to their fight, but he mellowed down. And everyone knows about his treating Dev and Sona equally by throwing BOTH out at night, and not just Dev.

8. He mellowed down towards Dev UNTIL this MCP made a point to hurt Bijoy's WIFE. With the help of his mother (who is also, the BEST MIL in the show BTW🥳) and his own consent, Bijoy made an entry to the field to humiliate Dev ONLY to give the same amount of insult back to him which Dev caused to his wife. What a man .

9. Everything went well, until one day he found out about the man's lies on his daughter's pregnancy and infertility treatment. And both had happened for the same reason as their break-up 6 months ago. The flashbacks of his daughter's heartbreak - and he bounced back 🤗. This time, not letting her daughter make a mistake JUST for this guy who cannot think BEYOND his mother. 👍🏼

10. Last straw - Money. One thing is constant with Bijoy Bose - he is NOT a money-lover. Money cannot buy him. Asha's lame argument on Dev's helping Saurabh in his business by lending money - cannot buy Bijoy. Money means nothing to him (and I cannot love him more for this 🤗). If Mr. Dev Dixit thought that in last 6 months, THIS gesture of him can help in winning Bijoy Bose, he is SEVERELY mistaken. So of course as an unavoidable consequence of the events, Bijoy Bose could NOT end up appreciating Mr. Dev, who never tried to impress Bijoy with anything except MONEY, because that is ALL Dev has. 😃

If the above flow of incidents make Bijoy same as Ishwari, then be it. But from where I see it, Bijoy wanted Dev-Sona marriage to work out as a normal marriage does, as his own marriage with Asha did. But ALL Dev could do is hurt his daughter's pride, heart and respect - hence, Dev couldn't earn ANY respect in Bijoy's book. Instead of the Sweet-Boxes and 5 crores, had Dev shown compassion towards Sona and her family, Bijoy would have been much happier with Dev. The 2/3 incidents when Dev did it, he loved Dev.

I competely agree! I had read somewhere where a poster said both Sona and Dev parents broke up their marriage with their behaviour and I was flabbergasted! Bijoy is LOADS, LOADS!! better than Ishwari.

Ishwari never accepted Sonakshi and constantly conspired against the two as a couple.

Whereas Bijoy remained on the outside for the most part and only interfered when situations demanded it. He has been an amazing father and was a good FIL too.

I just feel so terrible for him and their family. Sonakshi deserves SO MUCH BETTER than Dev and his family. The latter are so unredeemable for me. Dev has literally turned out to be one of the worst leads on tv ever. Not only is he spineless, but he's also selfish, hypocritical, and arrogant. Horrible, horrible man.

I absolutely love Bijoy Bose!!
Needless to say I agree with your post.

Like someone said, its difficult to convince anyone with your views, but still you shared your views and thanks for that...we can form a mutual BIjoy Bose FC,😉

Dev needs to get some lessons on fatherhood from Bijoy...that is surely needed...I dont think Mamaji is a good example.

Dev needs to learn where he went wrong..that will happen if somehow he gets to stay with the Boses for sometime. Observation is needed to realise.

Sona needs to learn the truth of Vicky and GKB...that is her fault in the failed marriage, in her anger she forgot the kind of man she chose to trust..i.e. Vicky.

Both Sona-Dev are responsible for their failed marriage. In my opinion, Dev had more to contribute...since he never found flaws with his mom's erratic behaviors. I still can not understand his logic when he fought with Sona saying his mom was insulted if she returned the money...🤔

From my personal experience, I have seen many people around me, including some of my relatives and friends of my dad who are exactly like Bijoy Bose - nagging, critical, rude-on-your-face kind of person who are absolutely non-negotiable about their self-respect and trust issues. I feel the critical views come from the fact that they have to fight EACH day each moment in order to survive with pride, honesty and dignity in real world. Today's age demands one to compromise with their honesty even if that means in an indirect way. Money and power play big role in that. People like Bijoy Bose, by the end of their tenure of work-life, almost makes it to a point where they start loathing these 2 factors and becomes absolute inflexible about their morals and values. I still remember a line which my husband said during the Demonetization issue - Irrespective of whether this step is right or not, but for the first time in my life I am feeling 'privileged' and 'honoured' for my honesty. Till now Honesty had only been an obstacle in my life, sometimes to the point of cursing and doubting myself. But never thought one day I would be awarded for that. I felt it was indeed a very powerful and thoughtful line.

If you ask me, I will pick these rude, critical and harsh people over the other 1000 prototypes of men simply because honesty and the sense of self-respect are the two MOST attractive features I find in people 😉. I am happy to have these 2 qualities in both my father and my husband 😊.

Push-Pull ji and Gaurimisha - I am in if you ever open a Bijoy Bose FC 🥳. He is the type of men who would neither settle for less nor would let their DAUGHTERS settle for less, kind of men who believe in equality, freedom and of course a PROUD father 🥳. Things exactly today's age demands. ⭐️
