Haha!
Awesome analysis, girl!
Love this bit - "You are right, he can't take away your achievements. But you know what he came to get there? Your attention and he got it. "
Yes, he got her attention, and not that he has it, he will try and get some more of it.😆😆😆 I know for a fact, he is not done with her yet.
But it does not make me feel gooey and warm inside, it makes me angry, because he pulls all these antics once Sona moves away from him. Pehle it was pagal aawara deewana antics, now its 'I am a Casanova and I gotta play hard to get' antics.
But then look at this way, because Sona is so straightforward and honest, and doesn't believe in playing mind games, Dev, ultimately will not derive any sorta happiness from this "game". Because it is no fun playing around with someone who doesn't like games and does not want to play anybody else either.
If it happens too much for her liking, Sona will freeze Dev outta her life; but worse, keep Suhana out of his sight and life too.
I agree with Dev being used to all the privileges. But honestly, at that age, the way Ishwari was raising him, as a child, he probably did not get what sacrifices his sisters were making for him so he could go ahead in life.
But then again - chahe uski galti ho na ho, in the end, I won't even call it a sacrifice, because once they all grew up, Ishwari ne soodh+ DOUBLE SOODH SAMET poora principal utha liya Dev se. And still continues to do, as we can how lavishly everybody is living in the house post-leap. And of course, all her foreboding lectures on zimmedariyan.
So it was quid pro quid in Ishwari's mind. Would be wrong to blame Dev squarely, coz teaching your son to be fair and not consider himself privileged also comes from the parents. In this case, Ishwari. He actually became the bakra kyunki uske kandhe pe chadh ke ab zindagi bhar log uski kamyaabi ke phal ginenge. Why? Because they once helped his mother manymany years ago and now he is bound to them like cattle to the shed.
Jitna Dev mein invest kiya, uska das guna toh seench bhi liya, returns mein. Yahan tak ki biwi tak ko bhaga diya.
Do you see how distorted this parent-child relationship b/w Ish and Dev is. God, its so aggravating to even discuss this!
But yeah, whatever happened in his childhood, whatever parenting he may have received,he is old enough to do the righ thing, think from other people's perspectives too, and stop being an entitled brat. Atleast Now. Especially since he had fallen in love with, and married a really sorted, independent woman like Sona who had no such 'mutually symbiotic' relationship with her parents and he has seen bright examples of that. Oh wait till he sees Suhaana.😉
If he wants Sona back in his life, it cannot be because he caused her to fall in love with blindly. Phirse.😕
