This is the first time I am posting on this forum. I am not a newbie as such, have been a regular visitor at the YHM forum and used to post there as well. So yea, my disillusionment with the latter show some time back propelled me to try out "new avenues" (so to speak) and give other decent shows a chance😆And that's how I ended up watching Kuch Rang Pyar ke Aise Bhi
And now I can't get enough of it.😳
Read few of the posts here...beautifully penned, and pretty much everyone agrees on the characters...to be honest, KRPAKB is pretty straightforward. I like the fact that the makers have managed to make the show interesting DESPITE the typical boy-meets-girl-and-both-sides-fight-for-their-love wala angle. Everybody is pretty much straightforward, except Ishwari. She is teekhi jalebi.
Ishwari Dixit is not your typical kameeni saas (sorry for the word, had no better way to describe her😆), but she is worse than all those MILs who at least are outright about how they project and express their hate and disapproval of the bahu.
She is like slow poison...you don't know you're drinking it in everyday, you feel it tastes like nectar...gentle, unassuming, non-confrontational, "appearing to be understanding and all", obsessive but never really showing through. ALL the classic ingredients of what can drive a woman up the wall if she were to marry this lady's son. As happened with Sona 7 years ago.
Dev, unfortunately, WAS the typical Mama's Boy that ruined his relationship with Sonakshi. And looking at him now, I don't see a possibility of redemption for him very soon.
Radha Rani and Vicky were swines, we always knew that. Radha Rani has the gall to address herself as "Gareeb ki Beti" despite looking like Bappi Lahiri's clone post-leap.
Vicky has "proved his mettle" by possibly leading to another bad business decision which made Dev shut down the trading company (the one they talked about yesterday).
I am firmly of the opinion that the makers used Vicky as a pawn to get this divorce thing going. Warna na pehle uski aukat thi, na ab hai. I mean, imagine, DESPITE pulling up all those "tricks" up his sleeve, Vicky still can't take one effing decision that's right and shuts up instantly when Dev speaks to him. What kind of revenge did he take then?
Dev, I am glad to see, STILL takes most of the decisions and trumps Vicky by a mile and more and walks off before the swine can make himself heard.
This proves - you can take all you want from a man, you can't steal his brains, attitude and class away. Sorry Vicky, you had to learn that the hard way; you thought you would dupe Dev and "take over" his business and property. Do you even know how to add up numbers, you fool? Don't worry you will get more opportunities in future where your ex-bhabhi will show you some more of your aukat.
Elina is spineless, ungrateful, content with living her extremely comfortable, paid-for lavish lifestyle and I don't know WHAT on earth could make her stand by these Dixits and not her own sister. Forget Sona, is she so ungrateful towards her mesho and maashi too?
I want her to fall flat on her face. Soon and hard. And I want Sonakshi and her parents to ignore her royally whenever she turns up before them.
I like this post-leap Sona - confident toh woh hamesha thi..but I like that crispness in her personality now...that no-nonsense charm that blows you away...smart, sexy, super successful and incredibly focused. Love the bright pink dress..think it was Palazzo style...the hair is bouncy, smart, fuss-free and just right for a businesswoman look.
I like the fact that she hides nothing from her daughter...considers her old enough to understand the realities of life.
I like the fact that though the tinge of pain, hurt, anger and disappointment is still there in her heart when it comes to Dev, she has obviously, turned charred ashes into gold and not let those "setbacks" hold her back.
Of course she and Dev will meet, and the FLAMES will engulf their outer placid selves like never before. Dev, the dormant volcano, ready to explode if he saw too much of Sona (which he will, in the coming days)...and Sona, the proverbial Ice Queen, unable to hold on to her frigidity as long with Dev's smouldering passion lurking around her.
I of course, don't want Sona to fall BACK for Devm at least not so easily. I am totally not for reconciliation with a man who can't handle himself, is spineless, won't stand up for what he wants and least of all for the woman he claims he loves.
But now that there is a kid between them, the makers will take the familiar route altogether. But EVEN IN THAT CASE, I want the makers to show Sona NOT COWING DOWN, NOT CAVING IN. In fact, I want to see Suhana respecting her Mom's decision and wanting to get to know her father independent of his equation with her mother.
I want to see Dev and Ishwari, and of course, the rest of the morons in Dixit house (except Mamaji), to fret and regret and feel shame for the way they have been brought up and choose to raise their children, as opposed to the fearless, independent, secure way Sona has raised her child.
And I want Ishwari to actually fall sick because finally, her "single mom" claims to greatness have been laid thread bare and she has realized what a mess she has made of her son.
I want GKB and Vicky to hang their heads in shame because try as they might, they could not break Sona down.
I want Elina to die of shame because she chose to live in her illusory fairy tale world without once bothering to check on her own damn family. I want her to die of shame once more because she FINALLY saw what a loser and pig her husband really is. Maybe then, she will go ahead to divorce him. I'd like that actually.
I want Sona to NOT cave in even when Dev and Ishwari later make rounds of her house, to get her back, win her back (I know this will happen). I want a new man in Sona's life who is proud of who she is and will fight the world to be with her.
And I want Dev to see that and die inside every day. And I want those million mini-deaths inside of him to make him realize what a blunder he committed so many years ago. I want him to realize how he took a good thing and completely destroyed it. And I DONT want Sona to put up with his silly lover antics anymore, or forgive and overlook his obvious follies anymore.
This is sadistic and probably not a very healthy wishlist, but for the man Dev is, or has become, if he hasn't yet redeemed himself, then this is his one chance to do so.
This time, if Dev and Sona have to make it through, honesty, humility, acceptance of past mistakes, willingness to start afresh and on a better note, and a complete NO to third party interference needs to be established.
But most of all, I want the Dixits to learn the biggest lessons of their lives not from Sona, but from Suhana...that tiny little girl who knows more than all the adults put together. Despite being a reflection of her mom, Soha still has specks of her dad in her (read: the way she calls her Mom 'khargosh', even Sona couldn't help but be taken aback by it).
And if heaven forbid they fight for Soha's custody, God help Dev and his selfish, mean, manipulative family.
I know for certain that this time, Sona will graze them over like a bulldozer blinded in its mission. In fact, I am thinking, she could get a top lawyer to fight the custody case and in turn, the dashing, handsome, smart lawyer is blown away by Sona. What say?😆
As of now, waqt ko karne do sitam. Both of them deserve it, at least for a while. Dev, for being his family's representative throughout but never a companion, a husband in the truest sense.
And Sona, for not putting her foot down early and tolerating the Dixit shit for far too long. Also, For not seeing Dev for he really WAS but for who she wanted him to BE.
Did you see the fire leaping up from one pair of eyes to the other in the last episode? That's what happens when you meet your ex, naeen??😆 More than Sona, it was Dev's arresting gaze that made my heart stop. Not for once did I think, Shaheeh Sheikh could look SOO HOT
For sure, he has gone to the awards ceremony to see Sona...and the way he tells Elina about Sona being in Delhi...makes me feel he has been keeping a tab on her all this while. Wouldn't put it past him.😆P.S. Dev looked a little too cool and casual when Sona credited her "ex-husband" for her present success. I desperately hope that Dev hasn't secretly pulled any strings to make his wife's business a success. That will be a complete downer and totally defeat the argument that women don't need men to prove their self-worth.
But then again, the people who love us the most and the ones we love the most, the people who hurt and break us but also give us the strength, the push to come out stronger...are also the ones behind our success in life. So yes, once away from each other, Dev and Sona have imbibed each other's personalities, values...it's like roles exchanged.
After all, love doesn't die. It only changes forms and shapes.
Do share your thoughts guys :)
