forget MOM, my own MIL will support divorce in this case.
You see there are sane sensible females out there who will be ready to support a woman who is making the right decisions and keeping her self respect paramount.

some others would off course say, it was equal fault of both sona and Dev

We also had a similar situation in my house. My daughter who is 11, knows that I love Kuch Rang. My husband was teasing me for getting upset seeing the Devakshi separation.

My Daughter: Why mom is upset?
Hubby : Her favorite couple Devakshi got separated
My Daughter: Why did they get separated?
Me: Because he listened to his mom and loved her more.
My daughter: Whats wrong if he listen to his mother?
Me: Hmm...you won't understand
My Daughter(jokingly) : that means it is okay if I don't listen to you.

I don't want to tell her that parents can be wrong too..she is too young to understand these.

Me: Go and read your story book. Indian shows are too complicated to understand.

LoL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I liked your husband's response...

You have a great mother. 👍🏼Even my parents are like that only. My mother was also very happy that the separation is happening.
In fact most of the people are like that only nowadays. My colleague who is from a very conservative brahmin family was also telling me yesterday - I have told my daughter she has to study a lot. If the inlaws don't treat you well, there is no need to take it. Just come back to us. I am always there

Thanks...I remember @WeRockTheWorld you responded in some other post Dev's irrational behavior cannot be attributed to Ish's upbringing. An adult has to stand for himself. Very true...I am brought up by mom...but we are entirely different in our outlook, attitude, approach and reactions in a given situation...but one thing we have in common is we don't value judge people...I'm not sure whether I would like to see my daughter throw her Mangalsutra whatever be the situation though I will support her mentally and financially if required but not that action...this is me...I give values for certain things in life...that doesn't mean that I will force her to live with her husband...I always believe it's not education or upbringing but your inherent traits that govern your actions...it may sound very contradictory... but I somehow feel our actions defines us...even it is my dearones I don't like to show my anger through shouting, screaming, or throwing things...I consider non-cooperation and silence as mightier weapons than bitter words...strictly my POV

A big hug to your mom on my behalf please!!

@ red... yes. Our actions do define us. Shouting, screaming - not many get joy out of them. But sometimes... when one is pushed beyond the limits of endurance, something inside the person snaps. Part of human nature. No matter how much a person is against it, they do end up screaming / throwing things after a certain point. And Sonakshi has never been the silent type.

Non-cooperation / silence don't work in some cases. You think Ishwari and Dev can hear her painful silence? Behron ko sunne ke liye dhamake ki zaroorat hoti hain. And she gave them that. Although I still have my doubts on how much they understood.

@Suvika
So beautifully explained. 👏
We can wake up those who are sleeping but can't wake them up if they pretend to sleep 😃

Agree with you Suvi...I know silence will not work effectively with many especially with Ish...but me... how much ever you push I won't raise my voice...I believe in giving frostbites rather than tongue lashes.
