FuzionArticle : Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi : In Love, Dev Is Both Selfish And Selfless At The Same Time!

Anger often throws logic out of the window and loved one's lies often make you wonder about the fact whether you even have known that person for years in your life. When you get to know about that lie, after years of trust, you suddenly feel as if you are fooled by someone on whom you have put immense trust and that you might have never known the person ever before. Sonakshi went through the same emotions yesterday.
A lie always has an intention behind. But it's a fact, when the lie comes out, the intention becomes a secondary matter. These are normal basic human psychology. And that's what we saw in the episode yesterday. Dev's repeated I Love Yous' were genuine but somehow Sonakshi couldn't really fathom the reason behind Dev's blatant lies just because she was disappointed and angry. However, while everyone in the show gave the exact reaction that we had predicted before, I am a little disappointed with the reaction of one character, but I am not complaining. I understand that even that reaction was natural and justified.
Here goes some of the best moments from the last episode -

Sonakshi's Testing Dev
Trust me, wives have a typical way of catching their husband's lies. Having seen them in real, I can vouch they never go and ask their husbands directly. In fact, they will always pretend first like Sona did then with a surprise effect will bring out the proof of the lie and Boom! the fish is caught in the process!
...
Sonakshi did the exact same thing. She tested the waters first, asked Dev for the reports. Dev pretended to have forgotten about where he has kept them and only then Sona revealed that the reports were hidden by Dev in their car itself. That took Dev a little off the guard. But I loved it when Sonakshi asked, Why did you do it?' and Dev simply replied, Because I love you Sonakshi'. Although, the I love you' didn't really have an effect on her but it surely would make a part of the audience (who aren't too practical) sympathise with Dev.

Also thankfully, the CVs here have also addressed the fact that despite Sona being a doctor she failed in being practical about pregnancy symptoms. Sonakshi somehow claimed saying, "My education, my experience everything failed just because I blindly trusted you Dev". Thank you to the CVs for addressing this minute detail too.

Dev Desperately Hugging Sona
That was his desperate attempt to anyhow calm down his wife. To make her realise his love for her. I would rather name it Dev's desperate defense reaction and it was definitely a very husband-wife' kind of a scene wherein a husband was seen trying to get his wife's temper down anyhow. He hugged her and again repeatedly said, I Love You' to her. But Sona's words would also make you understand her pain when she said,'I am feeling like an unknown man is hugging me. You are a stranger, just leave me Dev!'. She could no longer relate to her husband, she could no longer relate to the man whom she had trusted.
These are moments when you love the hero, you understand the heroine. You are angry at none. You can't take sides for any one and you simply wonder, how will they fix this kind of a nonsense?

Bijoy's Reaction - Quite Predictable
If he didn't do what he did, I would have been surprised. He had only one logic, his son in law has made his daughter cry and hence, he has to pay the price. However, the hurt in his voice was evident when he said to Asha, "Even an enemy doesn't do what our Jamai has done with us!". It seemed for the first time, Bijoy had a little bit of trust on Dev and it broke like a sand palace. We saw him crying.

His talking rudely with Dev, grabbing his collar, accusing him and questioning him were all a part of a father's frustration seeing his daughter in a broken state. His words somehow made me remind one of the sentences that I had written earlier in one article. Bijoy did say it today, "No reason in the world can justify what he did today".
Yes, the reason is justified but it is really really hard to make it look justifiable to others.
And I would like to see Bijoy Bose's reaction when he gets to know that it had been him whom his son in law had lied first a day before their sangeet with the intention of protecting Sonakshi and his love.

Asha's Questions
This is the sole character whose reaction somehow disappointed me. But as I said earlier, I am not complaining. I understand that even her harsh words were normal. But probably as I am too habituated to see the calm, composed and logical Asha always, I expected her to at least once ponder about the fact as to why Dev created such a big web of lies. She scolded Dev and also kept asking him about why he lied so much, but the impact of the moment could not make her think like she does most of the time.
Probably, because Dev was being hounded so much from all the sides, the little, innocent, illogical Dev Dixit supporter within me wanted at least one person around him to ponder WHY he did what he did. But no one did so, not at least in yesterday's episode.
P.S:- Is there a need to say that Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes were absolutely great in the episode?
P.P.S:- I am not a supporter of lies. I know Dev is wrong. And also that he will go through a lot of accusations for these lies until he reveals to Sonakshi that she can't become a mother. I am desperately waiting for that one scene in which Dev will tell her how he is hiding this truth since their wedding. However, Dev's intentions weren't wrong. He isn't a bad guy. Yes, he has a twisted brain (he is his mother's son, so symptoms will be there!), and he does things quite differently. Call him a coward or a brave guy, his life's biggest truth is that his love for Sona and his mother is genuine. And this truth is so big, that his lies with time will become too small as compared to the biggest truth of his life. Sonakshi and Ishwari need to identify this truth too along with the lies. In love, Dev is both selfish and selfless at the same time. He is so selfish that he didn't care about future and he is so selfless, that he didn't care about himself too while creating this web of lies.
