Great post! I also thought the little fable had a deeper meaning, but I have a slightly different reading of it. I hope you don't mind my sharing it on this thread. š³ I think the khargosh is Sona but the Lohar is God. The khargosh goes and asks for a carrot, which represents the children that Sona has always dreamt of having. The Lohar knocks the khargosh's teeth out, symbolising the fact that God has taken away Sona's ability to have kids; i.e. the khargosh's ability to eat the carrot. I think there is a foreshadowing here of Dev's confrontation with God, when he says he doesn't like the Lohar. But in the end, the khargosh finds a different but sweeter, more delicious way to have the carrot, giving us the optimistic message that even though Sona has teeth knocked, she -- and by proxy Dev, the Dixits, and the Boses -- will find a way to enjoy the carrot in the end. š
