Exactly what I'd do too. But it's quite obvious TV bahu's can't have self-respect regardless what kind of person they were before marriage...

Well if I were Sonakshi, I would simply send the car with the driver back and go to the Bose home and spend the night there and then get up and go to work as usual. To hell with Dev, to hell with his family and to hell with his birthday. And I would also ensure that I purposely reach his party as late as possible leaving Dev to answer his guests. If they don't care, I don't either. That's my simple policy in life.

Today's episode in my opinion was the tipping point. If Sonakshi still keeps quiet and acts as if nothing has happened, going forward she is responsible for all the trauma in her life.

It certainly was. And this is NOT the first lie. It's a repeated offense which has now become a habit.

lets not assume sona was not mad at dev. its asha who subsided her anger. dev knows he is at fault. lets see if he tries to make it up for it during the day atleast.but knowing dev i will surely end up with disappointment.
the least we talk about the dixit girls the bettter. they are a bunch of self absorbed idiots
. they only know i , me, myself. so far out of 180+ episodes have the cvs ever shown a single scence where the sisters came to dev to discuss something other than their demands and needs. we didnt get to see it even when dev for down with fever,so why are we even hoping that they will even remember sona let alone being concerned about her

I don't think CVs are taking them anywhere.. Just bits and pieces of the issues here and there, leaving the audience to choose whatever they want to do in such situations.. 😆
Why is Sona even be bothered about the birthday boy anymore? Anyway she wanted him to celebrate and he celebrated.. She has to just go on with her day as usual.. 😆

Hi tia,
Passionate and heartfelt post as usual 👍🏼

However I want to understand, what could have Dev done differently?

To begin with Dixit family have never thrown a 12.03 party for him before, else he would have said something about it to Sona.

Once he was home, I doubt if he could have said no to staying back for the aarti, after seeing the over-the-top preparations and a clearly over-excited Mataji telling him clearly to stay back.

Had he left home for the surprise date, his family would all have disowned Sona right there, trust me! Dev leaving that party for Sona would have been unthinkable- pretty sure Ishu would have fainted.

Phones seems to be down also unfortunately, so Dev basically did the next available option which is to send the driver.

Dev's family also kept Sona out of the loop, so she didn't know about the family party.

When they were alone, Dev was regretful and apologized genuinely however. And I feel Sona realised this and accepted his apology. It was after all their first time in such a situation, so I guess both were not being high-handed.

Of course, I totally agree Dev doesn't deserve Sona.. have always said Sona loves him more and Dev will never be able to match up. 😲

Hopefully the next time, both of them will ensure that nothing else is being planned for them at home when they are about to have a secret date! 😉

Once again I dont support Dev on the whole, but I feel he couldn't have done anything differently.

Please don't bash me if you disagree 😛😆

Dev is treating Sona like an option. Guys usually do that to their girl friends. Spend a little time then go home to your family. He needs to realise that she is now a part of his life. And that each decision he makes is for them not him alone. When he started keeping her away from certain family issues, his family have followed by keeping her away from all issues. End result she will grow distrustful because she doesn't know if she is important enough to him or if she even matters.

I absolutely don't blame Dixit girls or even Ishwari. But Dev keeps making such big claims yet he couldn't even wait to cut the cake for Sona. That simple consideration didn't even enter in his head.

As Lavanya pointed out, even in birthday parties we wait for our friends and family to come before cutting the cake. Apparently Sona doesn't fall under friends and family category.

Sona will be angry and Asha will calm her down. But then again Asha doesn't know what had been happening to her since she entered Dixit house. If Sona had a great life so far with a loving in-laws and considerate husband, then this little thing won't have mattered. From that stance Asha is right with the limited information she had got. I doubt Sona would share her woes in Dixit house since Day 1 with her mother.

As I said, if every time Sona went running to her mother when she was not treated the way she was used to being treated like Dev did, then Sona would be permanently living in her family's home.

True. Who cares if it's Dev's birthday anymore? She can just ignore him the rest of the day and go to office.

Thank you. Here's what I think he could have done (or what anyone usually does).

His mother asked whether he had any plans. He could have said that he had and Sona is waiting for him but since they made a plan too, he will just call Sona back so that they can all celebrate together.

His phone was down. So he could have borrowed Mamaji/Nikki/Riya/ Neha's cell phone or Landline whatever and call Sona and ask her to come back home because apparently his mom has also prepared a surprise party. It's a courtesy really. Even when we miss our reservation at a restaurant or a doctor's appointment, we call to let them know that we can't make it.

After that, he could have let the Aarti happen at 12:03 a.m. since it was his birth time but he could have asked every other celebration including cutting the cake to wait until Sona comes back. Again, it's called consideration that we do for our family and friends.

There were a lot of things he could have done without hurting and disappointing anyone. But he didn't.

He chose to again not give a single eff about Sona hoping that like everytime she will "understand" him and he will get away with letting her down again. And he was right. Why bother understanding the woman who keeps forgiving you for being an inconsiderate man?

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Tia I had posted this in another thread. I love this quote from the Bible because everyone is given the thing that they ask for. You ask for respect you are given respect, You ask for equality you are given equality and the list goes on...

So we have to be very discerning in what we ask for. If we ask for Crumbs we will not get the whole loaf, if we knock on the wrong door we will not find the right room.

Here in this context if this is what Sona wants this is what she will get 'Crumbs' instead of the Loaf
