I don't know how Sona can continue to believe in his promises and words even now. So far since their marriage he hadn't kept a single one of them. Next time he promises something, Sona should just ignore them. Less disappointment that way.

Dev is treating Sona like an option. Guys usually do that to their girl friends. Spend a little time then go home to your family. He needs to realise that she is now a part of his life. And that each decision he makes is for them not him alone. When he started keeping her away from certain family issues, his family have followed by keeping her away from all issues. End result she will grow distrustful because she doesn't know if she is important enough to him or if she even matters.

Very very well said, Sabita.

Yes, true. You know the saying that reach for the moon, even if you miss at least you'll land in the stars.

If you ask for your complete rights, then even if you are short-changed here and there, overall it will come close.

But if you settle for crumbs, then if you are short-changed even a little piece, you will be left starving.

Moral of the story: People who settle for crumbs, never gets the full loaf. Why pay more, when you can get it cheaper?

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Tia I had posted this in another thread. I love this quote from the Bible because everyone is given the thing that they ask for. You ask for respect you are given respect, You ask for equality you are given equality and the list goes on...

So we have to be very discerning in what we ask for. If we ask for Crumbs we will not get the whole loaf, if we knock on the wrong door we will not find the right room.

Here in this context if this is what Sona wants this is what she will get 'Crumbs' instead of the Loaf

Pretty much agree with you Tia. Waiting for tonight's episode. I have high hopes (and I know you dont :) ) that Dev will go and get his wife because its 10:00 ish not 12:03 yet (they were going to meet at the restaurant at 10:30 not at 12)

I also wish Sona had shared her plans with someone at Dixits. They live in a joint family and she has chosen to work on this rather than call it quits... Now, either the couple discuss this and make sure someone in the house is aware or risk this sort of a fiasco. The problem is, between Neha, mamiji and insecure ishwari they will definitely jeopardise the plans

Thank you. Here's what I think he could have done (or what anyone usually does).

His mother asked whether he had any plans. He could have said that he had and Sona is waiting for him but since they made a plan too, he will just call Sona back so that they can all celebrate together.

Agreed. I hope he says something. Sona has already texted him to let him know that her phone is running out of battery

His phone was down. So he could have borrowed Mamaji/Nikki/Riya/ Neha's cell phone or Landline whatever and call Sona and ask her to come back home because apparently his mom has also prepared a surprise party. It's a courtesy really. Even when we miss our reservation at a restaurant or a doctor's appointment, we call to let them know that we can't make it.

After that, he could have let the Aarti happen at 12:03 a.m. since it was his birth time but he could have asked every other celebration including cutting the cake to wait until Sona comes back. Again, it's called consideration that we do for our family and friends.

yes... I still think the family needs to show some basic manners too. Not just Dev, they are all flawed here.

There were a lot of things he could have done without hurting and disappointing anyone. But he didn't.

He chose to again not give a single eff about Sona hoping that like everytime she will "understand" him and he will get away with letting her down again. And he was right. Why bother understanding the woman who keeps forgiving you for being an inconsiderate man?

It seems my expectations were justified. Sorry to see that your hopes got broken. Dev could not even wait for Sona to cut the cake, let alone ask his family to wait. Hence proved my opinion on him.
