PS: so in this case ishwari is again playing the game of - dev kiska jyada hai alone... Sona doesnt even give a damn about who sits in the front.

This is how exactly it is supposed to be...

Well I am not married so can't say accurately about this situation.

But I would let the mom in law sit in the front seat out of respect.

But I feel its then mils duty to decline the offer of sitting in front seat and let her dil sit in front.

Seating arrangement in the car does not prove anything but for ishwari its a big issue as its a parameter to measure dev's devotion towards her and to prove to sona that nothing has changed between her and dev.

I feel when wife sits in the back with mil in the front seat, it seems kind of intruding between a couple. I could be wrong too about this

Its better not to think of power play with in the family ...as educated ppl we should just let go...take the instance of Ishwari wanting to sit in the front seat with her son...what is going to change if she sits in front seat...will Dev's love for Sona become less?? Will Ishwari be given the same place that Sona has in dev's life...the answer is NO !! Sona will be his wife and they will love each other dearly no matter where they sit in the car...that is the reality ...

One day she had to sleep in the study , its fine it happens ..thats how joint families are ...we will have to adjust but as the days progress , you will learn and become strong in understanding ppl and tackling situations...

I feel Sona should sit in the back seat behind the driver's seat...I guess that is the best seat when your husband is driving the car...in betwn you can have nice eye locks thru Inside rear view mirror😉😳...and also can communicate too with expressions...especially when others are there and you dont want them to know...eventually it will become a habit...he will wait for your opinion and look at you thru the mirror for your consent ...😆😉

Haaa...that's a very good idea...n If Ishwari gets to know this...she will eventually start sitting at the back seat of Dev coz as she said many times "Dev to bina kahe Meri baat samaj jata hai"

I totally agree wid u dear
Infact just d other day i had an argument wid my mom when she asked me to let go off my habit of having hot parathas citing the reason that when inget married off i wouldn't b able to enjoy such luxuries there
I was like why??????jus because I'm a girl n don't have a right to prioritise myself over somebody else????
Have u ever heard a boy being told off to let go off his old habits just bcoz when he gets married his wife will have a difficulty to adjust??????
I know I'm deviating from ur point of discussion but i guess the matter is d same
Why should men b given more priority than women??????
Are we not worthy enough??????
N if a female lets her in laws take priority in d house that means she's secondary n has got no place of their level
Why such discrimination ??????

For normal people...Not a big issue of sitting in car..infront or back...It is not big deal

But Ishu mataji case is mental case...So there is big deal.

It will make her more n more insecure if Sona will sit infront.

You see the problem is not who is sitting where. The problem is in the attitude.

I have left the front seat for my mother-in-law if we are traveling in a small car because she is taller than me and needs more leg room.

However when we drive our SUV, then she happily let's me sit in front because then legroom is no longer a problem.

But she never played ownership games with me. Because she does not think that she owns her son unlike Ishwari who thinks she owns Dev.

It's not like she has never sat in the backseat before. In fact every time she goes anywhere with Dev, she sits in the back (see past episodes) either with Radha or with her daughters.

The only time she sat in the front, I think was in the award function, also around Sonakshi.

So it's not the front seat but her attitude towards Sonakshi and her position that's the main issue.
