Show Biz revolves round Stardom. If you think every artist is a star that is not a fact.
Stars are trapped by their image and popularity.Whatever they say creates sensation.
Sharukh Khan's intolerance comment created trouble for him and caused so much agitation in the country. Many viewers banned his film Dilwale resulting in its monetary losses. Why? Because he is a star and he made the comment.

Shaheer 's Tweet found its place in Buzz articles and SBS segmants. If the actor who plays Vicky's role tweeted that it is a Saas Bahu drama no one will take it serious. Hence stars are trapped by their image and Star Power.

A new comer is lucky to express freely as long as she or he becomes a star. Not afterwards.
I believe Shaheer's justification is the result of his stardom. He should stand by the producers even if he is dissatisfied with the present track. He is doing so. His Tweet was a moment when he allowed his true feelings dominate his professionalism.

Honestly speaking, there is nothing much to watch on the show. The whole charm is lost. So I am watching KRPKAB just out of habit and nothing else - no more connection and investment.

It has become a typical old-school/ primitive, 1990s kind of show with cliched twists and turns. Cancel honeymoon, dumb husband, insecure and sheepish wife .. common!
On top of it, I wonder how the leads manage to continue justifying their whole act on the show!

I have always seen how Supriyaji is sugar-coating and justifying Ishwari's character - that she is just an insecure mother, Mothers always love kids, she loves Dev and wants the best for him! Seriously? That is just sad really.
While Shaheer did make that twitter post on saas-bahu drama (with an underlying meaning) , I have always seen him on SBS segments, justifying Dev's moves and decisions. Just today I saw how he said that Dev had a 'happy realization' that what he is doing is wrong and he needs to take care of mommy/family.. blah blah blah.. I mean, dude seriously? I have loved you as a person and your talent all this while - but THIS my friend is not you. Go figure yourself - You are a powerhouse of talent and I thought you are real and have an opinion of your own. May be you should take a lesson from Namik Paul (from EDKV how he bashed his character Sharavan for doing stupid things) or Kushal Tandon (his character in Beyhadh is no-holds, unabashed guy and very real).

Shaheer made a great start and took a leap with Dev's character. Now, he is only a disappointment for me.
But I guess both Supriyaji & Shaheer are now mere puppets in the hands of the makers and pushing the show for monetary benefits (of course) even if they don't resonate with the characters. My problem with them is that at least own up to the characters you are playing onscreen - say that they are wrong, why are you justifying these silly moves?
I am glad that Erica in real life hasn't displayed such absurdity (as yet 😊).

I know some of the Forum members may find this harsh and off-tangent altogether. But you know what, yes I do judge people on the choices they make and the real persona they have.

More kudos to Neha and Radharani Maami characters - at least they are real and we know what to expect!

Very very well said and not a single incorrect thing has been written by you... 👏
I agree on every word you have written about shaheer- whom I really love from
The time of his Mahabharata days- I think he has tremendous talent- but like his character, Dev- has
No guts to speak the truth- OR if he is speaking the truth then I am sorry to say he is half the man I thought him to be!!!! 😲 😲

If Shaheer had said on sbs that he is dissatisfied with his character, I cant even imagine what would have happened till now.

There would be multi million articles on it, Twitter would have been blasted, producers would have been spammed, some of his impulsive fans might have flooded durjoy dutta for making their star feel bad and krpk would have been in a negative light in news. May be something like, Sony's another show creates controversy or something kind of headline would have come up.

We do not want here a bad controversy, right? Controversies are always bad and extremely unhealthy for any show. You never know from where what would hit you and the next day you will learn something bad happening with your show.

Didn't read after 1990's bit. Just to add, 1990s had many shows that were amazing, REAL, relatable, mature, progressive and beautiful.

KRPK would look like a joke in front of those shows. Even Ekta's dramatic shows are miles better because the people who watch them, know what to expect from her shows unlike KRP which caters same trash under the garb of being 'unique'. Bonus being that the lead guy is a sissy.

i agree with you. I myself not njoying this regressive, 1000 times repeated storyline and tracks but since I am already hooked finding it difficult to break away. patience is running out if the storyline doesnt move forward in a couple of weeks. i dont watch trash on TV and this show will be no exception for me.

as for actors giving social media bytes.. I dont blame them. they are parroting the storyline from the POV of writers! actors dont have much choice to voice a different opinion to media. they r bound by contracts. i am sure in reality, none of these people find such a regressive plot a norm in today's society. all this crap about hiding dates, rituals, taanakashi by faaltu relatives...was more in my mom's times. ive heard stories as to how mom and dad use to makeup stories when they wanted to go see movies which my grandma didn approve.. they watched a movie in two different dates so she wouldnt find out that they went for a movie 😆

the point is.. show started as "hatke" but now full on same saas bahu 😡 triangle and insecurities can b explored another way vs.. same old.. lets get Dev/Ishwari backstory out inopen.. Dev's explanations should begin now to Sona.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Nidhi. Much appreciated.
But you missed the point I was trying to make. At the cost of keeping it short and precise, let me say this.
I never said shaheer or supriya ji should say put in the open that they are dissatisfied with their characters - I have already mentioned it in my posts. However, what disgusts me is that how blatantly they justify the actions of the characters they are playing! Such toxicity and ludicrous behaviour of Dev and ishwari is unacceptable in today's age - and they think that the viewers (don't want to carry fans anymore) and so stupid that they will take their justification?
A negative or grey character is nothing to be afraid or dissatisfied about - it's just a role in a fiction show! So if the character you are playing is going regressive, don't justify it!
Just keep quiet or stay neutral or simply put, say the character is going through a difficult journey and is being weak. Instead you say stuff that undermines your own credibility - that is even more regressive than the show itself.

Erica is a great example of how she is handling it - haven't seen her giving nonsense segment bytes ever since her character is going down hill. She is not giving any silly segment bytes, tweets or FB Live chats either.

Comparing shahrukh khan's stardom and popularity to shaheer sheikh is just ridiculous. And that is where the problem exists. At least for once, shahrukh khan expressed what he felt. But too bad, people took it so seriously that it mattered to them. And as much as I love shaheer's acting, I live in a real world and in my opinion, he is no star and is just a good actor. It's alright to candidly put what Dev is going through and if you don't have the heart to even say that your character is going moron, just stay neutral or keep shut. Why are you justifying the characters actions.. More than dev or ishwari - I feel you are being a moron in real life in this fake proposition!
