Dear Sonakshi,
By now, the glow of your victorious love marriage will be waning. You feel the love in the morning, when he calls you , when you call him, and when he comes home, then before sleeping. Few minutes to hours snatched in a day , it would feel like.
And the rest of the day, many hours, you have to face people who don't like you. You feel like you've taken a new job and the environment is unhealthy and unfriendly. Except you don't get paid here, and you have to live, breathe and eat there. There is no escape.
You tried the 'changing for them' route, Sonakshi. It is failing miserably, not because you are incompetent, but they are not gracious or generous. You feel that with your new position as a wife, it came automatically with a set of important keys, opinions that matter enough to affect others and respect.
Normally it would. But this house is infested by parasites of the worst kind. The sanskaari kind. One that relentlessly sucks out blood shamelessly, but oh so politely.
(I swear GKB may soon be the very reason I stop watching this show. She is too sickening for me. No matter how cute Shaheer is , or how awesome Supriya ji is, I really hate the sight of GKB and her spawn. )
I would like to advise you Sonakshi , FOC :
1. STOP trying to please Ishwari. It's annoying her and you should just stop. You're upsetting her apple cart and her crown is teetering off her head. She has tucked in her pallu for action and you don't wanna fight your MIL. That's NOT the battle you wanna win. You wanna stay OUT of her radar. The scarcer you are, the better for you. She is not the most significant thing in your marriage. Don't give her that power.
2. You wanna win Dev. He is the one you married. Be with him. Cuddle, whisper, hug, watch movies in bed on the internet, or just talk for hours. Focus on him. Kiss him good morning, wish him a good day, disturb him with cute "I miss you messages" at work. Sleep with your arms around him so he feels loved. At least when the shit hits the fan, he won't leave you all alone again like before. He'd be more attached to you than before and more loyal.
3. Stay out of his business. He is the businessman, not you. He knows about his business more than you. He may discuss with you, but you have to just listen for now. He wanted to teach Riya how to fish to save herself and be independent, and her own person. She succeeded. But "Entitled Vicky" wants the big fish, without knowing how to fish. If he brings a big loss of income to the company, you get front seats to watching Dev tear Vicky up at home. With an audience too. Let him be. Karma has a way.
4. Vicky is incompetent and arrogant. That's his mother and father's fault, not Dev's. You don't have to help him too. Stay out of it , SOnakshi ! Vicky and GKB know how to sabotage their own lives. They are too stupid to realize that Dev is teaching Riya the clever way up , eventually she might even be Dev's right hand girl, because she was trained well. Vicky may get a sales manager post, but he'll probably stay there forever stagnant, running the company with Dev is a distant dream. How arrogant mother and son are. Ugh.
5. Cancel your leave and GO BACK TO WORK !! Leave with Dev in the morning and come back with Dev in the evening. Keep your vrat also , since it makes Ishwari so happy. Go out for lunch with Dev, and no one would know or need to know. The less you and Ishwari see of each other, the better for both of you, and less fodder for GKB to cause trouble.
You are lucky. Ishwari actually wants to run the kitchen and the house. So you manage your husband and go to work! You don't have to take over from Ishwari.
6. If there is some hush hush family secret discussed, leave. It's their prerogative not to tell you. And its nothing to be hurt about. The same goes with your own problems, they don't have to know it either. They don't get a say with what you do with your salary. Draw that line NOW.
7. Dear Sona, stop advising people what to do unless they asked you. You are not their nutritionist, or life coach, but Dev's wife. Nikki and Riya are close to you, stick to them, leave Neha alone and she'll come all by herself. She's been in a marriage longer than you. Ishwari doesn't care about the younger girls so you can be safe there.
Please stop being "World's Best Bahu", like Dev says. This pageant is rigged for you to lose. Just be Sonakshi Bose-Dixit.

p/s: What is Ishwari so cranky about? She got the prenup signed, and has Dev tucked in her pocket . Why is she petrified about Dev discussing things with Sonakshi?
p/p/s: Neha is actually friendly with Sonakshi, and starting to see how unlucky she is to be Bahu in her own family home. Methinks, she will come around soon, after missing Ranveer, and give Ishwari some home truths before leaving. Neha has a knack to drive home important messages right to Ishwari's core brutally.
