Thank you so much for the beautiful analysis!😊
So true, the makers very skillfully conflict the idea of love for the protagonist with the reality of the situation.
Sona needs to learn, just like you said, that she won't fit in by trying to become the ideal bahu but by being herself.

And totally agree with the part that Asha coaxed Sona to go ahaead with the relationship because her expectations of every issue between them resolved was unrealistic. Now that they are married, those problems haven't gone anywhere but will crop up, right on their faces.

Very rarely did I come across a post that analysed Iswari in true sense without unnecessarily bashing her calling her names and proving her to be negative. How nicely you did it? Yes she likes Sona but to accept her as Dev's wife probably she has to give herself more time and patience.Your understanding of Dev's precarious position delighted me so much. Perfect vision,Sensible thought and superb presentation skills...Loved it .Wish to read more.

The last paragraph was really apt. The Dixts really do not need another Dixit. But I think, Sona will initially get carried away and try to fit in like she used to before the break up. Learn to cook, embracing their traditions and being the perfect bahu, the Dixit family wanted. This would bring neither her nor anybody any happiness. Just like it happened before the break up. This, I hope, she realizes very fast. We want the original Sona to be out there and do stuff. Because the Sonakshi Bose way would really help the Dixits revive their lost relations and deeply hidden emotons. She trying to fit in is just not going to help ANYBODY. I hope Sona pulls through all difficulties in this hell hole. I am not sure they're going to show Dev-Sona's personal love life?!

Thanks for the analysis. It really makes me understand things better and in a different perspective. Helps to devour the show better.

Thanks! You so beautifully elaborated on the thought I was trying to convey. Yes, the new promo indicates that Sona will once again get carried away, trying to be the ideal bahu in the Dixit household. But what she needs to discover is that her place in this household doesn't come from the traditional trappings of a "bahu." As Ishwari says in the promo, she is used to taking care of her son... but was that enough for Dev? No. There was a reason he needed Sona in his life, and that was not to bring him food or take care of his day-to-day routine. It was for emotional connection and companionship. I think Sona will be much happier once she realises this.

I think they will show Sona and Dev's love life, though that depends on how you define that. This show has never been about the "passionate" brand of romance, but it's all about the journey of Dev-Sona's love for each other, and the way it effects those around them. It's a story of all three protagonists, and since two of them happen to be married now, I am sure they will do justice to that angle! 😉

Very well articulated Samanalyse.

The character analysis of Dev, Sona and especially Ishwari are spot on. I have never seen Ishwari has an outright villain - she is a conflicted, grey shaded character who has her own system of beliefs and is overtly attached to her son. Personally I don't like such characters and if someone had a mil like her in reality, I would feel bad for that girl.

However the cvs have portrayed all this so nicely. She is not a regressive mil and at the same time, she would want control of her son too. Also Supriya Pilgaonkar's amazing performance adds to the character.

Thanks! Absolutely, Ishwari has always been impossibly human and conflicted, no matter how much she tries to make herself a saint, and the viewers try to make her a villain! 😆 It's an interesting conundrum, boys who are over-attached to their mothers. On the one hand, it usually means they have learned true respect women as they have seen a strong one through out their lives, but it also means it's extra hard for a new person to enter the equation. I guess it does come down to personal preference in the end!

I agree, Supriya Pilgaonkar is completely phenomenal! I love that she does justice to the role, and the writers in turn do justice to her incredible talent!

Hi, I have always enjoyed reading your analysis. You definitely see more than what usually meets the eye. I definitely have a fresh perspective of the show now and probably understand the characters better.

Your analysis puts the CVs in better light for now i believe they know what they are doing. The plot is ripe and looking forward to what they have to show us. My only grouse with the Cvs is the route they have taken. The story evolved so beautifully in the first 100 episodes. They always balanced the drama with positivity. I guess most of us are missing that now. Hope we do get the subtle and nuanced narration like that in the upcoming tracks.

Thanks! I tend towards shows that leave a lot to be read between the lines, and this is one of the best examples I have encountered on Indian TV, so I am thoroughly enjoying it while it lasts.

To be honest, for the very first time, I was worried about the show when the wedding was rushed so much. I had a hunch that the pre-nup and infertility issues were meant to be dealt as a lead-up to the wedding, but were put aside because the channel demanded a wedding ME on that particular date. Whether that is the case or not, yesterday's episode showed that the CVs are aware of how to tweak the story and keep characterisation intact, which laid some of my concern to rest.

I know a lot of people are not entirely happy with the post-breakup phase of the show, but I have always been in the minority there. The easiest part of a love story is always the pre-romantic build up to the climatic confession... there's a reason most romcoms stop there, but I just love the way they have dealt with the angst of the post-honeymoon phase. Last night I saw a hint of that old KRKPAB levity in the adorable hairpin scene, so I too hope that that balance can return now that the characters will once again be seen settling into a daily rhythm.
