Suvi, I don't know if there is a trigger in her past. There is something in her past that she wants to bury for sure. Her possessiveness have been shown from the initial episodes. But the extent to which it has come out now is because of the depth in Dev - Sona relationship. She knows deep down that Sona have understood Dev more deeply and substantially. She knows Dev worships her but as much as she enjoys that it restricts her from enjoying a normal or human life where you are not judged for your faults because the basis of your relationship is love and not devotion. She envies Sona having that with Dev. She must decide first if she wants to be his God or his mother who is a human with her own share of faults. Because whatever she is doing now is to get her image back infront of Dev and Mamaji.

I agree Geena.

She wasn't like this when he'd announced his engagement with Natasha. The bond he shares with Sona has triggered something in her.

On other note, Ishwari isn't that much of a Dev marraige freaky person as much she is to the fact that someone can have equal importance to him other than her. She would have obviously married Dev to someone someday in a hypothetical situation, and would have been fine as long it doesn't takes her status. Not all marraiges are filled with love and a doting husband. She went all hullaboo wrt Sona cause shaadi ke pehle hi his son's love got divided and he was doting to another woman. Ishwari was also fine with Natasha cause of this :v Dev and her were cordial. So she had her space intact. Hope CVs show her dealing with hee issues properly as well. She has loads.

Ishwari was always obsessed with her son and care a damn about her daughters. She never wanted to think or talk about Dev's wedding, always dismissed it saying "Mera Dev abhi Chota hai." Now all of a sudden they inserted this creepy flashback with her discussing about pota poti to a 8 yrs old kid, obviously for the infertility track. It looks like she changed overnight, she is not shown insecure anymore about Dev and has started thinking about grandchildrens and her nonexistent daughters. Typical Hindi soap hai bhai, kuch bhi ho sakta hai. We have bua sas and GKB for taunting Sona and more dramebaaz, so the writers thought let's transform Ishwari from a bipolar obsessive disorder personality to a mother with split personality and at the end very conveniently convert her to a loving caring mother of four kids. Ta-da.

I don't think her insecurities has reduced right she just wants to go back to being a god on front of Dev's eye and she is enough for all the drama needed in the serial. But the fb seemed out of place and unnecessary 😆

Not wanting to loose God place in her son's life that is what I was thinking too but it seems like the writers have something else to show instead, a big transformation from an obsessed mother of a son to a loving caring mother of four kids who was a litttle bit insecure about sharing him with anyone but does so for his happiness. They are trying to prove after all Ishwari is not a vamp and are looking for viewers sympathy, but for me it's quite impossible to digest this unrealistic transformation in characters.

Her love for her son is unhealthy and weird and I do think she actually cares for the girls but Dev is her life long investment how can she let it go this easily 😆.Many times I think she just uses Dev for her benefits and for her daughters. She has to do too many right deeds so that I can think about sympathy sing with her.She is weird Period. 😆

Ishwari is like bullet train. She started with "never let dev marry" and end with having "dev k bachche" She has no stopping station in between for his wife. Seddha bachche paida kare dev aur inki godi mai daal de.
