You're damn right about Shaheer's eyes though. They're like chocolate pools you want to get lost in

Thanks dear 😊
Alas,we didn't get any scene like that. Dev is happily oblivious to all the things that meed to be done.
Shaheer is brilliant as usual ⭐️ ⭐️

Dev Dixit has shown traits of being the perfect Durjoy Dutta hero until now. Is this also part of the package? I felt like punching Dev. And the SBS voiceover just added salt to my wounds. Argghhh😡

The makers edited out that portion which we were angry about thankfully😆If Dev would have said it after today when Ishwari just went to talk (without any begging involved) I don't know how I would have controlled my anger and annoyance.😆

I just got back from watching a late night film and against my better judgement caught today's episode.

What is going on in the minds of the makers? Why are they showing the hero so weak? She said no and all he does is look defeated and moisten his eyes. Even if he does not introspect on the reasons why is he not even determined to win her over?

His mother seems to be more determined and willing to romance Sona!!

And just to shift sympathy to the Dixit camp they made Sona suddenly callous in her engagement (inviting him, staring at him, dropping him home when he was drunk as though it was a calamity even though people get drunk every friday night, dumping Ritwik so badly etc. ) and Bijoy so crude in his behaviour with a composed Ish today. To add to that why does Sona who is rejecting the alliance have to visit Dev to tell him she is rejecting him???

It's like she is visiting him with some hope that he will stop her and woo her but all he does is look defeated, listen to her taunts and moisten his eyes...

What's happened with this show? I haven't been watching since last week but reading more here just makes the thought of trying to catch up - pointless.

The characters are scripted. The actors are brilliant. What they are showing is a reflection of how the Writers see life & relationships and needless to say, it's disappointing. Is there any chance of Dev realising any life truths? More & more it seems like the writers feel what Dev did is completely justified (the one-sided break up, the helplessness, the not being able to give up Sona but not having the heart to talk to Mommy and then destroying everything in the process). Now that Mommy agrees, he's happy. Then Sona disagrees, he's unhappy. He used to be an 'actions' guy - do first, think later. Now he's all about angst. Cry for losses you caused yourself and hope for someone to fix it.

Sona - the writers have a very warped sense of self! You don't need to be a man or a woman to understand self respect. Both should have it.
So they show Sona reach her realisation at the cost of her family & another supportive family. Too many emotions get hurt in the process of Sona understanding hers. And now she rejects Dev whom she told earlier, she would accept in a blink.
So earlier she acted from hurt and now from guilt. Guilt of hurting everyone around her.
Hurt led to hurt and guilt will simply lead to further guilt.

I read some segment WU where Erica says that Sona is not understanding what's happening 'yeh sab kya ho raha hai'!
Too many things Dev & Sona don't understand and everyone around them feels they understand too much.

I can just wonder about the writers. They seem to be scripting reality and their idea of reality is this. I read enough comments from people who feel this happened in their life and some waited 7 years to marry their love - the scary part is that someone met Supriya P as Ishwari is close to her reality. Shouldn't she have felt closer to Sona or wanted to see something in Sona instead that didn't happen in her life?!?
Do we so love to relive our miseries instead of wanting to carve a better reality?
If yes then Durjoy Dutta's Dev & Sona probably are doing just that...

I've given up on trying to make sense of this show now. Dev fell in my eyes in day before yesterday's episode. Happily skipping to Sonakshi's office without an iota of guilt or introspection was totally not expected. Just 10 mins back he was feeling ashamed of his behavior and as soon as Mommy said yes, everything vanished. It was as if he forgot what conspired the previous night.
Then comes yesterday. His totally giving up on trying to woo Sonakshi, forget about introspection or redemption. He doesn't even want to try to win her back. All of this makes me come to one conclusion. He doesn't mind being apart from Sonakshi, as long as she doesn't move on. The moment someone else comes into the picture, all hell breaks lose again.
I somehow don't even blame Ishwari after this. She is right in thinking of Dev's love as a zidd for a toy. Coz that's exactly what Sonakshi is to him. A toy. As long as the toy is sitting in the corner, untouched by anyone else, he is ok. As soon as another child expresses a desire in the toy, he loses his shit and throws tantrums, screams, cries, yells, breaks things till the other child gives up on the toy. Sonakshi is his property. "You are mine" were the words he used. He actually means them. He doesn't give two hoots about her feelings, her guilt, her emotions. Her family is not even a part of the equation according to him. Talk about butchering a character. I remember in the initial episodes, Dev used to hurt Sonakshi, but he immediately realized his mistakes, mostly without Ishwari's proding, and would apologize or make it up to her. With flowers, heart felt notes, trips to her house and what not. Where is that Dev Dixit?
The CVs are taking Sonakshi's character for a ride as well. Her total and utter confusion about what she wants is baffling. I thought she was quite clear that she wants to marry Dev, the man and not Dev, Ishwari's son. But now, even I have my doubts as to what she wants. If Bijoy is ok with their alliance, will she forget everything else and rush back into Dev's waiting arms?
I don't feel Ishwari is wrong now. If Dev can't fight for his love and keeps behaving in this manner, she isn't wrong to assume that his wanting Sonakshi is akin to wanting a toy.
They are trying to make the audience sympathize with Dev and Ishwari by making Bijoy and Sona shout on them. Wow. What a way to redemption.
Dev's defeated "Toh fir maan kyu nai jaati tum?" extinguished all my hopes of a redemption.

Sorry for the long-ass reply. I have not been commenting on any posts and seeing your reply, I just couldn't stop myself.

I think we are watching some different show than the one which aired for the first 100 episodes. The change is so drastic,it's astounding. While typing a response to bookworm's reply, I started thinking about the earlier episodes. When Dev used to realize his follies, reflect on them and then make every effort to correct his mistakes. Like a man. Be it visiting her home, sending flowers, heartfelt notes or a meaningful glance in her direction. That was what made me fall for this character. Where is that Dev Dixit now? After comitting one blunder after another, there is absolutely no sense of remorse or guilt. Just plain acceptance. He is ok with not being with Sonakshi, as long as she doesn't move on. Let's get another character in, make Sonakshi fall for him, and we shall witness the return of the lunatic Dev Dixit. Who has no sense of reason, just plain aggressive behavior. So basically Sonakshi is his property, and as long as she isn't someone else's it's fine if she isn't his as well. How can we blame Ishwari now? When her own son desn't respect Sonakshi enough, how can we expect her to do so. I still admire her grit in trying to bring her son's happiness to him. No matter how skewed her logic.
Sona's character is also going downhill now. The CVs are showing her as a girl who is confused about what she wants. She is hiding behind the guilt of disappointing her father, not bothering to address the real issue about Dev not standing up for her. If Bijoy approves, will she marry Dev in an instant? The conflict is between Dev and her, not their families. As long as they don't resolve it, the families shouldn't even come into the picture.
I fail to understand what the CVs want to show by this track.I agree with your view of not understanding why someone met Ishwari instead of Sona if her life was so similar to the show. Logically, she should be able to relate to Sona more than Ishwari. Had it been the MIL who met Ishwari, I would have understood. The makers actually seem smug about their approach, and that is the most scariest thing for me.
