I've given up on trying to make sense of this show now. Dev fell in my eyes in day before yesterday's episode. Happily skipping to Sonakshi's office without an iota of guilt or introspection was totally not expected. Just 10 mins back he was feeling ashamed of his behavior and as soon as Mommy said yes, everything vanished. It was as if he forgot what conspired the previous night.
Then comes yesterday. His totally giving up on trying to woo Sonakshi, forget about introspection or redemption. He doesn't even want to try to win her back. All of this makes me come to one conclusion. He doesn't mind being apart from Sonakshi, as long as she doesn't move on. The moment someone else comes into the picture, all hell breaks lose again.
I somehow don't even blame Ishwari after this. She is right in thinking of Dev's love as a zidd for a toy. Coz that's exactly what Sonakshi is to him. A toy. As long as the toy is sitting in the corner, untouched by anyone else, he is ok. As soon as another child expresses a desire in the toy, he loses his shit and throws tantrums, screams, cries, yells, breaks things till the other child gives up on the toy. Sonakshi is his property. "You are mine" were the words he used. He actually means them. He doesn't give two hoots about her feelings, her guilt, her emotions. Her family is not even a part of the equation according to him. Talk about butchering a character. I remember in the initial episodes, Dev used to hurt Sonakshi, but he immediately realized his mistakes, mostly without Ishwari's proding, and would apologize or make it up to her. With flowers, heart felt notes, trips to her house and what not. Where is that Dev Dixit?
The CVs are taking Sonakshi's character for a ride as well. Her total and utter confusion about what she wants is baffling. I thought she was quite clear that she wants to marry Dev, the man and not Dev, Ishwari's son. But now, even I have my doubts as to what she wants. If Bijoy is ok with their alliance, will she forget everything else and rush back into Dev's waiting arms?
I don't feel Ishwari is wrong now. If Dev can't fight for his love and keeps behaving in this manner, she isn't wrong to assume that his wanting Sonakshi is akin to wanting a toy.
They are trying to make the audience sympathize with Dev and Ishwari by making Bijoy and Sona shout on them. Wow. What a way to redemption.
Dev's defeated "Toh fir maan kyu nai jaati tum?" extinguished all my hopes of a redemption.

Sorry for the long-ass reply. I have not been commenting on any posts and seeing your reply, I just couldn't stop myself.

Have you seen the segments that aired today? Erica in one of her interviews says exactly this - Sona was not ok earlier as her parents were not, now that parents are ok, she is fine too.

Need I say anything further?????????

Just saw the segments. facepalming now. So I guess redemption has gone for a toss. I think we should adjust our expectations now and just watch for the chemistry of the leads, keeping aside our brains. It will only lead to disappointment.

Dev babu is one lucky guy. The ladies in his life will do all the work for him. First Mommy will convince Sona and then Sona will convince her parents. In one of the segments, Erica said they are again making promises to each other. I was like "Arre yaar, first try and fulfill the promises you both made to each other in the first place, before making fresh new promises to be broken in the coming future."
Let's wait and watch what the episodes bring.

My dear, what chemistry are you talking about? Do they even look like a couple attracted to each other/in love when they are in the same frame?

It is like it is an assignment to get back together not a yearning..

Can their romantic scenes even be convincing for us anymore? I loved manly Dev and fiesty, so in love but reserved, high on self respect Sona. Do they even meet that description anymore?

I always keep my expectations low with desi tv shows but these two were so amazing initially that I just fell in love with them as they fell for each other...

Still cannot believe the creatives had such a poor script for the main plot line of the show..

They should take lessons from the show I recommended to you guys. Wonder if you have seen the episodes after breakup in that one...

I agree wrt Chemistry...they look nice together...their romance is more like a cute teenage puppy love...it doesnt come anywhere close to the matured ready to marry couple body language...I havnt understood why the CV team does not want to show this...

Every one in the forum is happy because we are getting to see some happy scenes..and definitely they look nice together...but the intensity that we saw betwn them during the initial days post confession ...even that amount of intensity is missing...

There is also discussion abt infertility track...not sure how they are going to treat that track , when there is very less intimacy betwn these two...That is a very intimate track in terms of topic , sentiments , emotions and body language...every aspect of it is soo very personal...when CV team has not been able to show that level of intimacy betwn them just wondering how they will show the infertility track...

True. I feel the scenes are getting too repetitive. The same setting in front of Sonakshi's house, the same kind of hugs. The segment showed 2 different scenes so there was repetition in the segment itself.
I dunno where they are going with this, honestly. In the pic that Mamta Patnaik tweeted, Sonakshi was wearing the same dress she's wearing when Ish comes to visit. So the patch up will probably happen in a day or two.
The chemistry when they weren't even dating was better than the one they are showing now. And I'm just so so distracted by Shaheer's hair that I can't concentrate on the scene. He just looks so shabby, it takes away from his good looks. I thought he wasn't cutting his hair to show the messed up Dev post break up. But I don't know why they are continuing with this look.

My phone broke yesterday, have to wait 2-3 days till the new one arrives. Can't watch those episodes till then. Do you know if the voot app can be accessed on laptop? I haven't reached the break up yet. I'm actually enjoying watching each phase slowly, knowing that the next episode is just a tap away sure feels good :)

Totally agree. I was trying not to believe that the infertility track is actually happening, hoping that they were just rumors. Not because I don't want to see an infertility track on TV, infact, I think it's a bold move and should be treated with respect. But because of the lack of intimacy they show on this show. But more and more people are confirming that the story is heading that way.
Dev and Sonakshi look like two best friends who are mildly attracted to each other and not two people who cannot stay away from each other. Their passion comes forth only in the intense emotional scenes, for eg: the scene at Dev's house after the engagement when Dev refused to let go of Sonakshi's hand. But again, that was more a emotional need. I don't know why the makers are shying away from showing any sort of physical attraction or intimacy between the leads. It's such a natural thing to be expected from a mature adult couple.
Like you said, the infertility track is a very sensitive topic and very intimate in terms of emotions, body language, subject matter. If they don't even show them coming close to each other how will they deal with this?
The 4-5 episodes immediately after confession were when I felt they showed appropriate intimacy for the beginning stages of a relationship. After that, it just kind of fizzled out. What's even more frustrating is, the leads share a natural chemistry which was evident in the initial episodes itself. they are a talented couple and I feel are grossly underutilized in the intimacy department. No one is asking for a kiss or highly intimate scenes. But a wanting look, cursive glances, holding hands in a manner that feels intimate - the list is endless. many ways to show intimacy, specially when you have an actor like Shaheer whose eyes do the talking most of the time

I REALLY hope that's not true. All these conditions for divorce and all of that seems too fishy to me, as if Ish has some ulterior motive. This is getting too typical saas-bahu for my liking

I feel like some rival show's makers have taken over the show to sabotage the selling points - Dev/Sona chemistry,Shaheer's looks, Dev/Sona's characterization :)

You can watch the episodes on voot.com on laptop.
