Regardless of how much you love them or they love you, you can't treat adult human beings as an extension to your will.

Dev let Sona go and she left. She respected his stance even though she didn't agree with it or happy about it. But even after the break up, she didn't blame him for choosing his mother over her. She only blamed him for not talking to her and trying to find alternate solution together as true partners do.

I agree Sona should marry Ritwick now and end this torture now 😊

@bold: I completely agree.
I agree that just because he is the hero his actions are being justified but it does not change the fact that it is wrong. Am I still rooting for Devakshi? Yes,but that doesn't mean that I am okay with his actions. But because its a show, I am willing to give him a chance at redemption.
Would I consider the marriage with Ritwik wrong? No.Frankly he is the better choice at the moment.
If it would have been real life, I cannot even imagine getting back together with a guy like Dev or encourage someone to do so.

A Brilliant Post indeed..👏 Very well put..
If Dev wanted to keep his mom happy and not let go of sona, all he had to do, as sona said was talk to her about it.. instead of breaking ties and not even giving the poor girl a chance to state her case let alone fight it!

And the lesser said about Ishwari, the better..My expectation from the initial story was that, Ishwari does all the drama and they break off (with mutual understanding) but then work together to win her over.. by assuring her that just because her laadla gets married doesn't mean that Ishwari loses a son to another woman (sic)... cos at the end of the day no matter what, a mom will always be the mom, and nobody can take her place!

Had the makers taken that route, it would have not only sent out a strong social message (to accept a daughter into the family and not see her as the "outsider". the dreaded daughter in law who breaks up the family) but also would have dealt with the insecurities a mom could potentially feel..

Now what we have is a hero and his mom who don't really know what they want !!!

Bloody brilliant post ! 👏
So not every one sees the "hero" ( could he still be called a hero ?? No he's the male lead but no more a hero. ) with pink tinted glasses .

Will come back later to share my two bits. 😉

I think it was a while ago when I said Dev Doormat Dixit would be remembered for 2 things:

Best confession ever

Worst male lead ever

I think it's still very much valid.

If they show that, it will add another nail to the coffin to both Dev's character and the show .Then the show just gives a very wrong message that when faced with a dilemma, harming yourself is the way to go especially when that is a track which the CVs have already adopted once with Ishwari(even if a bit indirectly).
For Dev these days this is whats going on:
"some people create their own storms then get upset when it rains."

Sorry TM. I couldn't even read your post completely. I end up thinking that why I am even watching this show and supporting Dev and Sonakshi union.

If the story was about perfect Sona and Dev, this serial would have ended in 5 episodes.

Just like real people, fictional people (book, movie, romance, action, ANYTHING) should be flawed. Have you met a person who was 100% perfect?

I am glad story is not focusing on perfect Hritik and his weakness or short comings. That is why Dev is a hero. That's all I can say.
