Saumya,
Leaving everything aside, I felt so bad, that piece of a mother Ishwari didn't understood tears in her son's eyes...
Like I tell my mother that I had a bad dream, and so I may have tears in my eyes, and my mother will believe in the first go, especially if I am going through a hell phase in my life? My mother won't ever buy that so easily until she really is satisfied that I really wasn't crying ...
Is she really that ignorant mother or do I take the words of the writer that we cannot scale Ishwari with normal mothers or she will fail...

I think makers made that flashback scene of sona ta end moment..because win segment shaheer said it's his flashback

Thank you di🤗
Looks like the writers are very clear about how they want Dev's character to progress. . With undefined boundaries.

Exactly! Even I'm trying very hard to figure out some other meaning for those lines, something like he can't even think of ever not loving her and he knows she can't too.. or something like that..
Otherwise those lines are pretty disturbing.. which is why I felt it would've been better to edit them out :)

I can't say much, but I'll say this - if it was anyone other than Shaheer with his brilliant expressions playing Dev, this would all have quickly gone from being romantic to creepy. Dev has started behaving a lot like srk from darr.. I'm still not able to get the last line of the episode out of my head - something along the lines of 'Jab tak mein tumse pyaar karta hun tab tak tum kisi aur se kaise pyaar sakti ho'

I dunno but something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. What exactly does he mean by that? Till he loves her she can't move on, and when he's done loving her then she can do whatevr she wants.. probably it would've been wise to edit that line out.
Sonakshi was so real today, I think most of us can relate to this, this feeling of not being able to stop oneself from worrying about the person you love. Till she's cribbing about him, it's okay. But the moment someone else says one word against her love, instinctively she retaliates. It was lovely to watch.
I just hope the makers know what they're doing with Dev's character. Pls let him realize that he has hurt Sonakshi beyond repair and actually make him take some steps towards correcting mistakes.

It was all fair in love & war for Dev. He is creating absolute havoc in pursuit of his true love..! And this havoc includes obsessiveness. Looking at the way things are going we are going to see an obsessive Dev..which shouldn't be a surprise to us. Like mother, like son. Ishwari is obsessed with Dev & Dev is obsessed with Sona. Like Somu mentioned...it did give me the SRK darr wala feeling when he said that dialogue... And like you said if it wasn't Shaheer then it would've been extremely creepy & suffocating..

And Sona was so true to herself! Sona & Elena conversation was my favourite part of the episode.. When you're in love you end up taking the name of that person so often by mistake.. It just happens with the flow... And that's exactly how Sona said Dev's name. He was the only thing that was on top of her mind. "Dev still loves me. He's not moved on!" Loved the way she was so damn sure about it. Sigh! Oh Sona, why did you have to get into this marriage mess. Won't your parents be unhappy when they come to know that you were doing this for them...

His plain pious selfless love would not let him land anywhere close to Sonakshi. He needs to be selfish to get out of the Ishwari's sacrifices cage😃

Oh yes! Shaheer's expressions were spot on and the director also had the boundaries clear in his mind, otherwise things would have escalated quickly towards wrong feels.
The dialogue though disturbing, intended to convey that Dev is trying to take control of the situation by stalking etc ,that he can control her emotions. . By stopping her to get attached to anyone but him.
Poor him, reality will strike him so bad when he realises that Sonakshi is hurt and it is her life and her decisions now and he can't control what she feels or decides about Ritwik. This will lead to breakdown.

I think they're purposely showing this contrast. On one hand we have Dev who's love has reached the level of obsession. He doesn't give a damn about right and wrong anymore and when you think about it, he seldom did when it came to sona. On the other hand, we have ritwik.. who is just about the most sorted person you can come across and who is, on paper, perfect for Sonakshi.
The romantic in me is loving this side of Dev. This frustration of not being able to entertain the thought his Sonakshi with anyone else. It's driving him to do crazy things. It's good. It's ok. When I demanded a ridiculous, all consuming love, this was part of the package. I will readily accept it.
But I do want is for him to actually take some steps towards winning her back. Right now, all he wants is to break this marriage. She can sit there heartbroken all her life, he will be ok with it, coz he's heartbroken too. But the moment she starts moving on, all hell breaks loose. You can't have your cake and eat it too, Mr Dixit. If you can't see her with someone else than have the guts to be with her. That is all I want from him now :)

Amazing analysis Saumya..Yet to watch the epi..hv just read the WU..those two dialogues of Dev you mentioned made my eyes turn round like a saucer..oops..the title is perfect..the grey shades of his love are coloring him now..I would say dark shades of his love are coming out..but it shows the intensity of his love for her and like you said its needed for him to realize he can't let her go for his mom. A quote from 50 shades of grey.. I want you, and the thought of anyone else having you is like a knife twisting in my dark soul. This applies to Dev's current situation. I am sure he wont do any creepy things. I think after he promises her he won't interfere..let's see..its Dev afterall..hehe

He is assuring himself that she still loves her only because R has come to her life and he fears his position in her heart can be replaced. Pagal ladka.

Sona has a golden heart yaar just like her name. In awe with her. How she understands him so well..just loved that scene..I want to see one scene or dialogue from Dev that he understands how much pain she might have gone through..he knows that but still he never thinks about her pain..I won't let her move on..etc etc..Kabhi to uske baare me soch..you want her to live as per your wishes..uff
