Okay , so Dev's sense of entitlement that is shown quite clearly in the precap kind of disturbs me. 😳

Because it disappoints me.

Seriously how can I defend this guy when the guy is not taking the steps that I hoped against hopes from him ??

Do Dev even knows the damn meaning of break up ?? He seriously needs a guide book or manual or at least an article explaining this phenomena called a clear brutal break up , which was all his doing.

Um.. what exactly he expected Sona to do ?? More importantly what he wanted her to do ?? Live and die a spinster ?? Isn't that an extremely selfish thought towards a genuine good person whom you claim to love ?? You don't want her to move on and be happy ?? How could you possibly not ?? The least you could do wish from the bottom of your heart for you beloved to be happy.

You've no plan n no desire to bring her back in your life , well you want to be forever doomed , that's fine it's your choice . But you want her forever doomed as well ??

It's a completely different topic whether Sona should and could move on or not ! This post is NOT at all about it. It's about Dev and what he wants to happen with Sona post-break up.

It confused and shocked me that he kinda want her to keep pining for him n probably remain broken hearted and alone for the rest of her life ??

Please don't tell me that Sona won't ever be happy without him . Yes it's true. But Dev don't know that , shouldn't he at least hope and prey for her happy n bright future.

How does that make her any different than Ishwari with her extreme possessiveness towards Dev yet doing nothing to secure Dev's happiness ??

I was feeling so so bad for him whole of the time since he saw Rithik n Sona together , from him sitting n weeping in rain , to his restlessness and shattered condition at home . I was close to tears.

And then came the precap and dashed all my hopes to earth . I was so damned pissed off and frustrated with him .

I expected his reaction that of pain n hopelessness , n NOT anger , what right does he have to be angry ??

KIS HAQ SE ???????????????????? 😡

It just shows he's not at all guilty or remorseful ! He doesn't realize what he's done to Sona n how extremely wrong he was, or his reaction would've been along the line of, " Mere sath aisa hi hona chahiye !! "

How could he ever redeem himself ever for Sona n for viewers if he doesn't even know he is supposed to redeem himself ??? 😲

Hey Anna 😳 Nice write up
Is this guy for real? What does he expect from Sona? I totally cringed the way he initiated the breakup... I cannot imagine how he can justify his actions. If the makers are trying to showcase dev's actions as being a jealous hurt guy who is totally in love.. Then I'm sorry!! I can only see an obsessed lover.. who wants his way or No way.
He sobs in her gham like there is no tomorrow and the moment he gets a call from mommy dearest, he snaps out of it.
His phone conversation with ishwari yesterday.."Mein kho gaya tha... Par ab Sab teek hai" 😡 like seriously dude? If you are so sure and adamant that you cannot go against your moms wish.. Then why the hell are you blaming Sona for moving on..Kis Haq Se? Sona aise kaise kar sakti hai.. My foot!!

I hope the story ends with a "hum dil de chuke sanam" twist lol. I can never trust a guy who can break your heart in a gist and doesn't even realize his mistake. Sona would have waited for him if he had asked her for some time. Par nahi.. He just threw her out of his life like a chai mai makki.
Phew.. Rant over!!
P.S - I'm So proud of Sona!!

I was waiting for your Post!..By reading your thoughts I almost feel they may portray Dev as Dark before redemption if any

I decided to start writing even before I watch...could not resist that is the power of the TM makers post😆

I think the issue most of us are having is the disconnect first from the Promos aired to what is being shown. I decided that they aired the Promos wanting to show reality but maybe Drama only sells hence took the dramatic route hoping people will forget the Promos😆

Dev Dixit has till date not been portrayed to understand human emotions if he had he would have not mercilessly fired Sona from her Job to get her to care for his mother.

Then there has been several instances including bouts of anger shown by him which we thought was cool. Then came Natasha by that time Sona was head over heels in love with him which everyone and their cat could sense but he did not and behaved even callously by trying Natasha engagement ring on Sona. Then he realizes that he loved Sona and broke engagement with Natasha and suffered in Business...we thought it was romantic but here again showed he is not able to process consequences .

He was like a giddy teenager with Sona and gave some dialogues and promises which for some us we found school boyish or cheesy it was saved of course because of the amazing chemistry between the leads.

Then came the brutal breakup I dont think he thought it was brutal because he thought he needed to put his mother first..if we think back we rooted for his break with Natasha because we wanted him with Sona but that was brutal too.

Now that he saw Sona again he wants to pursue what he lost not understanding that he lost it because of his actions. Now he is also faced with the reality of Sona moving on he is angry at her because he does not still understand it was a consequence to his actions.

This makes me think that the makers now have changed the track to show a broken, depressed Dev who needs fixing and it can be only done by Sona with Easwari realization..that way Sona will be the FL who fixes everything and Easwari character will be redeemed...In all this they not only strayed far away from the promo, reality and characterization of Dev and this is what leaving us all confused.

Only silver lining I see is Shaheer gets a great chance to emote different emotions

Yes agreed completely. Dev neither wants to meet Sona face to face & apologize, nor does he want her to be happy with someone else.

This is not correct.

The makers are portraying Dev's character very badly.

I hope they fix this within next 1 or 2 episodes.

Like Sona said even we feel sorry for Dev that he is incapable of making his own decisions.

If he doesn't want to go against his mother, he should atleast let Sona live her life peacefully.

Just read an article which said - Dev does everything in his power to seperate Sona and Ritwik.

This is getting really ugly :-(

Rightnow, not much convinced in Dev's character shaping. Hope they show solid reasons for patch-up.😕

Yeah now that Sona is happy and laughing , shouldn't that at least bring a reluctant but happy ( for her ) smile on his face that she's smiling , when he was the reason that robbed her of her glowing smile .

You won't do any thing to keep her , you won't even respect the memory of your love in front of likes of GKB when they insult it , you'll hide the signs of your love hastily in a pen stand hastily as soon as your mother enters as if a 12 yr old teenager about to get caught smoking in front of his parents and hiding it in the readily available place and later forget about it totally !!! 🤬

Yet you've the temerity to get mad that she's moving on !! 😡

Let Ishwari ask him the reason of his laptop breaking , what'll be his answer ??

And while we are at it, I feel so disappointed with the way they are ruining Ishwari..They are literally pandering to the love story and in an attempt to glorify Dev and Sonakshi, they have made Ishwari unbearable..Ishwari was the most interesting character on this show..There were so many other ways to show that Dev was the best son in the world and Sona is the best thing that could have happened to him..They really din't have to make Ishwari this insensitive and unrepentant..She was always a bundle of complications..She loses her head due to insecurity yet she used to introspect and feel bad even if it is for a fleeting second 😆 I mean i get that she wasn't this crazy with regard to Natasha cos Dev wasn't this invested but at that point, she was genuinely trying..Right now, they have just made her vile, insensitive and downright crazy..Such a shame cos Supriya P is freaking fantastic..

No by throwing his laptop he's going to lose all the pictures of Sona saved in his laptop, just wait and watch. It's karma punishing him for not yet , let alone lifting a finger to change and gain back his love or face his mother , even not feeling genuinely guilty and remorseful with a feeling that he deserves it and at least Sona has some one who can make her laugh and happy n not broken hearted and pining. 😡

I know I am being the Devil's advocate here😆 but He did not intend to stalk her in the first place. All he wanted to do was see her for 'one last time' . . But that last time never came😆

Yesterday too, I don't think he wanted to stalk her per say, just look at her. . How she has been keeping etc. . And he hid before she could see her. . Because it would induce complications from both sides. He still doesn't want to get back to her.

But when he got the shock yesterday, he is all the more curious to know about the guy and Sonakshi. . And whats brewing between them.

He is majorly driven by emotions now. . Leading him to stalk but he doesn't want to come infront of her.. destruct her relationship with the new guy (until ofcourse it dawns on him that he is hating this feeling)

I think CVs are primarily using the jealousy and Ritwik track for self realisation of his own mistakes, not majorly for how important Sona is for him. He already knows she is important for him. . So this track will force him to rethink about his actions. . Which he hasn't done yet.😳

Well said... I too felt the same... Till yesterday, I was feeling for Dev and his helplessness for the mess he has created for himself. But today, I was not able to feel sad for Dev, not even when he saw Sona with ritik, becoz, he is not feeling guilty, he just misses Sona's company and just want a glimpse of her, so he sees her feels happy and go home and next day the same routine... yeh kya hai? Its like he is having a daily dose of some medicine.

I don't understand what Dev is waiting for to happen? He must take some actions and very soon, feeling angry or jealous won't fix the things he has spoiled. Today's precap totally disappointed me, he is not feeling angry on himself, but on Sona?!?!?😲😡

I have a feeling that Dev won't make any effort in redeeming himself as he has decided Sona will not be a part of his life as his mom don't approve, instead he will try to destroy himself not by committing suicide but ignoring his health and going into depression. Finally Ishwari seeing his son's condition will go and beg Sona to save Dev and happy ending... I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN... 😡

Initial Promos were so beautiful and were filled with positivity, I was dreaming about Dev and Sona after breaking up with mutual consent, they meeting outside and discussing how to convince Ishwari... there calm conversations and supporting eachother... sigh... but all went in drain... I can't make out why CVs made those promos, when they made this horrible break up and I don't want Ishwari fixing things for Dev and Sona.👎🏼
