That's where I wanted to empathize and root for her emotional outbreak.. But what she was made to do was any typical villainous mother-in-law behavior.. And completely out of relevance to her original characterization.. Now they might just switch her to the other mode annoying us more.. 😆

Aww thank you 😳 Ishwari was the most complex and fascinating character on this show..She had so many facets and layers..Not everything is about the love story and not everything is about Dev and Sonakshi..I know most ppl watch it for them but it wouldn't hurt to maintain that complexity..During the Natasha track right before Dev's engagement, there is this scene where Dev assures her she'l always be the most important person in his life and she looks on and stares at him while he is preparing the list of invitees..I remember feeling really bad for her at that point..Cos here was a woman who was actually trying but she really cant help it cos she is crazily invested in the guy..Its beyond me why the writers ruined that subtlety and made her so vile..The fact that she din't even feel guilty after all the nasty jibes made it worse..Cos that is not Ishwari..Even today, the CVs got it wrong..The way i initially saw her, she is not that cold and unrepentant..Am probably in the minority cos i was genuinely fascinated with her character and its kinda sad how they have ruined it..Atleast IMO 😆

I am unable to connect the current state with the earlier promos.. In the initial promos, It never looked like they had or would have this kind of a separation. It appeared that they still continue to be good friends and on talking terms. But with this kind of a separation track, I am wondering how would they connect the dots. They are shown literally being strangers, rumors of new entrants, etc..

Yeah. It's like Ishwari gone OTT.. ok let's make the others too.. start with separation track.. To keep it loud and clear.. and create noise... 😆

@bold: same here.. Everytime I recollect her insecure moments this one never fails to pop-up.. It was all there.. And she doesn't say it.. And he wasn't watching her too.. The moment he looks at her she changes her expression not to be caught by the son.. He could read it very well there.. Gone are the days.. And no you are not alone in the minority.. I am already in there long lost in losing the Ishu .. 😆

Could I thank RR and Push-Pull and Gemini and PKBDas enough here ??
This is the total disappointment which I felt from this show.. Playing with Ishu's character.. And unlike most of the people, I started the show for Supriya Ji, and now I have no place to hide my face .. What they have done to her character 😆 ..

Please continue the discussions I'm thoroughly enjoying it.. 🤗

Haha..I started watching for Supriya too..As much as i liked the promos, i kind of had a nagging feeling it'l be a typical sass-bahu show with too much melodrama and i din't really care for both the actors or the PH tbh..In fact i had a terrible opinion about the PH cos i used to follow Veera ( only for Vishal cos that guy was ridiculously cute 😆) and they ruined the show like no tomorrow so i was really skeptical about following this show..Then i read that Supriya P was playing the mom and that was the main reason why i gave it a try cos i was convinced she wouldn't really take up a typical/cliched role 😆 Which is why am most disappointed with the way they have written Ishwari..

Perhaps with Ishwari it's a case of psychological projection connected with her past? Here's the definition from Wikipedia:

Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others. For example, a person who is habitually rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude.

I'm not all caught up with the show so don't know if this was touched upon in detail but what was Ishwari like with her own in-laws? She says that she was welcomed with open arms but what if there was a power struggle and she thinks the woman who comes into her son's life will behave as she behaved with her mother-in-law and husband? Did she orchestrate an ouster of her husband's parents or something? Is that what Khatri holds over her?

And I am only glad that I can still claim my right over this character by writing spoofs on her... Because getting angry on her or hating her is not possible for me... At the same time I am no Dev to adore her in whatever form she's put in... 😆😆 I am sure Dev would still go "maa" "meri maa" after knowing what all she has done (if at all that's in the makers' agenda 😆) justifying her with his own reasons... 😉

Ok.. You guys had some basis for this actor... This is the first show of her that I am watching... In fact first show of all the actors in this show... 😆 And it's only Erica that brought me here... And instantly started liking Ishuu as well...

The story before Ishu's smoking stove drama is more relatable and I was able to connect every character to someone close to me... And even in the halwa scene when Ishu appeared to feel bad for Sona while Dev commented on her halwa, I thought she's in the right mode to start her realization...
I can related shades of Ishwari to one or the other person from my own life (we are quite big family with lot of mothers/mils & fathers)😆... The one that I was rooting for is what I saw in the original Ishu which is thrown out for the hunger of drama by the makers... And the one which Ishu is playing now is also there in my family but I cannot root for that woman... Because the mix of these two shades are very very difficult... Either the mind game works crudely or the heart on job hurting inside them-self more than the others...

Looks like the CVs themselves didn't want us to empathize with Ishwari... 😆😆

If only they want to project Ishwari in any particular light aligning her to a particular genre.. Right now they are trying everything with her putting up a mix of different traits making a masala puri, with variations as per their convenience... 😆

Now that you are giving ideas, they might even use that angle to project one more version of this woman... With giving no clue to anyone of what she is... May be the intention is also the same... Nobody can understand the 'poor' mother's soul... So be gentle with her... Give up everything for her... Do everything under your power to keep her happy... If at all she decides to give a return gift for all your mahantaas then she might give... Till then JUST WAIT!!! 😆

Just WOW. Superb brilliant beautiful analysis dear🤗👏👏
This show has made us mad for sure. I never was affected so much by fictional characters. It feels as if they are a part of our life. They are 24/7 in our minds🤪

The right is yours till you are hurting inside.. And the more you stay hurt the more he holds the rights on you... And you have given the power to him because you have made him more important than yourself. Now steal that right of yours to heal yourself.. at your own pace... allowing yourself to take the time you need... Yes, the damage will be there.. but learn to not let it control you and your life... You would become better off healed than ever was unbroken... You will now explore the strength which you think is not there in you...

Give yourself the time.. It may not teach you anything new.. But it will allow you to accept the flow and let you know that you can live with the pain and slowly the pain will be part of you without hurting you...

This is beyond beautiful dear. 👏👏👏 ⭐️ Thank you so much and hugs for this post.
