Hello peeps!
I'm Kanika. 😊 I'm relatively new to this show. I binge watched the previous episodes (read: Devakshi scenes 😛) in 2 days last week. I'll be honest the initial promos did not intrigue me much, nor did it interest me when I catched upon the show on and off. I presumed it to be the usual run-of-the-mill shows, but boy, was I wrong! (P.S. The fact that Sona, a nutritionist always used to sit at Dev's house like a servant irritated me too much :P.) Anyway, one day out of the blue I decided to give the show a try and I'm so glad to have done that! (Sorry for the ultra long post!)
Okay, so now coming to the show and the characters:-
Dev
An arrogant know-it-all businessman for the outside world and a loving and doting son and brother for his family. A man with a bruised childhood, who had to take up the responsibilities of his family at a very tender age. I don't see Dev as a typical maa da laadla, but a man who owes it all to his mother. He has seen his mother suffer for them and for their better future and thus, he feels indebted towards her for everything. He is a very layered and complex character, with flaws and thus is very real. He has the inability to realise other people's emotions, however when other people tell him, he realises it. Dev as a human being has grown, over the course of the show. Dev becomes an absolutely different person with Sona. He can be his real self with her; he can shed all his inhibitions when he is with her. Sona brings out a different shade of Dev. One of my favourite scenes related to Dev is when he realises his love for Sona. This is the first time I've watched Shaheer and I'm really impressed by him. 👍🏼
Sona
The no-nonsense, feisty, spunky Miss Bose. As much as I love Dev, Sona is my favourite character. She is a very real and a current generation girl, who is independent, strong and stands up for herself and the people she loves. I absolutely love her characterisation. She is someone who puts her family before everything, is dedicated to her career, her job. Her initial encounters with Dev were spot on, the way this girl just shuts him up! Later on, when she realised she was wrong in her judgements about Dev, she had no qualms in admitting she was wrong and apologised to him. Dev's simplicity, his kindness, values, good hearted nature were enough to sweep Sona off her feet. She fell in love with Dev because of his good qualities, which is exactly what happens in real life, you like or love somebody because of their good qualities. Sona has this positive outlook towards life, which is why Dev said she makes him want to be a better person. She really is a beautiful person inside out. Truly a pure soul. And thank you Erica for bringing out Sona so beautifully and making us fall in love with her. 😳
Ishwari
Ishwari is definitely the most complicated character on the show. She can become quite difficult to understand at times. She is not a bad person, but her insecurities get the better of her. My heart goes out to her at times. However, she also does not fail to puzzle me with her thoughts. I really loved her bond with Sona, her fondness for Sona in the initial days. Hope we get such scenes in the future. She does like Sona, but as Neha said she won't be able to accept her in Dev's life. I may not be able to relate to her and might also dislike her at times (thodi OTT ho jaati hain maata ji 😆), but I do feel for her. I believe she does feel guilty for not being able to be happy for Dev and Sona. She should have faith on her son, that even though if a new woman comes in his life, his love for his mother can never lessen. Hope we get to see some sort of redemption for her in the future. Hats off to Supriyaji for playing Ishwari to the T. 👏
Devakshi Relationship ❤️
How it all started with a bang! (Literally! 😛) From their first encounter, to being friends, to lovers and best friends, I have loved their progression. How organically it has been portrayed. And from that beautiful confession to their heartfelt conversations, these two are pure bliss. Their relationship is the highlight of the show. You have mushy-mushy romance, but there are so many meaningful moments and discussions between them, which are so real. The key of their relationship is communication. They both can express their feelings, without any hesitation. The 100th episode is actually one of my favourite episodes. Even after that small argument they both realised that they will disagree at times, but that does not affect their relationship anyhow. Rarely do you come across such real relationships on TV, especially Indian shows. Sona is definitely the more mature person in their relationship and it is so amazing to see how far they have come together and how deep and meaningful their relationship has become. Kudos to the writers for giving us Devakshi and to Sharica for making us fall in love with them. ☺️
This show has actually shown us the different shades of love and that too realistically. The USP of the show is also the fast pace of the story. Though at times it might seem rushed and we miss out on anticipated moments, like Nikki's excitement on Devakshi's relationship, Dev's bonding with the Bose family, but it is definitely better than tracks being dragged on.
Coming to the upcoming track:
I'm so excited as the real story is about to begin. If the build-up to the actual story (as depicted in the promos) was this amazing, imagine how brilliantly the rest of the story is going to unfold. It'll definitely be painful, to see our lovebirds separate, but our strong Dev and Sona will come out of it and face the future headstrong, because that is who they are. So bring it on! 😃
P.S. Comments and criticisms are welcome. 😊
